Man this teaser trailer needs to hurry up because this thread is becoming more boring by the day.

I still think Jonah and Johnstad will receive screenwriting credits for the film, along with Goyer of course.

Loki's plan was poorly constructed. But this is by design. Loki was clearly portrayed as someone who is in over his head, but we need to remember that this is a continuing story. His actions will have consequences, and Loki's development as a character is far from over.

His conversation with Thor really made it clear what the film was really about.

Loki= weak azz baddie overall.

Where did you hear he hated it?

Given his statements about Superman before he was attached to MOS, I doubt he'd take it if he didn't like the script a lot. Unless he'd just wrapped up Sucker Punch and he suddenly thought "Wait a second. That wasn't a very good movie at all. ****. I'm gonna need a moneymaker if I don't want WB to send a hitman after me."

This is my first ever post!

I have some doubts whether Jonathan Nolan or Kurt Johnstad ever touched the Superman script. Here's why:

First, most people use Moviehole as the source. But Moviehole has been wrong in the past. In July 2010, there exclusive source claimed Jonathan Nolan would direct Man of Steel. They also said it wasn't a reboot.

Secondly, a few months ago, Deadline reported on David Goyer's deal with his new agency. They said he was the sole writer of Superman.

Thirdly, in a July 1011 interview with EW, Goey was asked why he wasn't at comic Con. He responded that Man of Steel was about to begin filming the following week and it would be wrong to leave.

I hope these links work. This is my first post and I'm new at this.

Fourth, Jonathan Nolan gave an interview while promoting Person of Interest in Sep/OCT 2011. I don't remember it exactly but it was something to the effect that Superman was the one hero he didn't like or have a conenction with because he wasn't a vigilante. He showed no love or affection for the character but did say he thought it would be a great movie.

I can't find the link to that interview but it's somewhere on this forum.

I'm not saying Jonathan Nolan or Kurk Johnstad didn't work on Superman. It just seems we're relying alot on Moviehole.

The EW shelf-life link doesn't appear to work. I apologize.

We don't know that yet. See my comment above. Christopher Nolan got a co-writing credit for Batman Begins, and his contributions were the equivalent of a script doctor polish.
Actually, the WGA is rather strict on “production executives” (producers, directors) who try to claim a co-writing credit. They have to show that they’re responsible for over 50% of the screenplay in its final form. Modest re-writes, tweaks and “script doctoring” are considered part of the director’s normal duties and don’t earn an additional credit. So Nolan’s co-writing credit on BB indicates that he contributed substantially to the story and satisfied the WGA’s rules.

Well...Nolan had to literally bail out Goyer at one point in regards to the original drafting. Goyer was having...a lot of trouble apparently.

When Goyer is writing dialogue in a superhero movie, there's a problem: that he's doing it!!!!

Lazy way of thinking. Getting all worked up and getting everybody exited about a story when you have no idea where the 3rd act is going, which was / is likely its biggest problem.

Yeah I found that article when I was reading about POI and it still doesn't fill me with confidence that he's involved in any way with the script after those comments.

I'm happy with Zack Snyder being directer because of this interview

Vague statements about issues with the Superman script don't really hold a lot of water with me. I'm aware of David Goyer's strengths and limitations as a screenwriter. If it's good enough at this point for Snyder and Nolan to move forward, I'm fairly confident its a good script. It kind of is what it is, and we'll see what it is when its released.

Just out of curiosity do we have any credible/definitive information on what the budget for the movie itself is?

That's nice, but I don't have any regard for your opinions at all.

Oh, that's nice and like I give a crap. Who are you again??

Terrible at interviews. He's not selling the character that well. Snyder needs a speech therapist and a bigger vocabulary. He's obviously a very passionate filmmaker, but I cringe when he speaks.
