Blade isn't a superhero. My childhood was a lie. :csad:

And yes, I understand your point. :yay:

did Blade put on a colorful suit and save people?
of did he just go kill vampires...he's more antihero...he's not pulling people out of a burning building...he's throwing vampires in it

So the destruction and appearances of General Zod, Faora and Brainiac are all because Clark was an idiot that one day during the events of MOS.

Random idea. What if Brainiac invades after hearing the Kryptian space ships destroying Earth? With as long as those dubstep ships were, maybe Brainiac's ship detected Kryptian life still out there. Brainiac's been searching for Kryptian life and never got it before the planet destroyed.

I want a reboot with Elba.

I don't know what gender, sexuality, or nationality you are...but its real easy to say stuff like this when your gender/race/sexuality/etc. gets good media representation on a consistent basis.
It's made into a bigger deal than it is imo. For example, the population of whites is between 75%-80% in the US. The population of blacks is around 12-13%. Extrapolating those figures towards what is on film, yes the majority shown in movies and tv will be white people because that is representative of the proportion percentage in general. I don't know why we have to read it as race into it. Simple statistics. Just see people as equal instead of getting into this trap of "hey it is a white guy" or "hey it is a black guy on screen." how about "hey it's that character on screen" *sigh*

I have no problem with it. Im excited for Brainiac. But it's actually true and pretty funny that it's all due to Supermans obliviousness.
Too be fair, it isn't like Clark could know that was gonna happen. But still, more then a bit funny. :funny:

Oh come on. Like I said before in another thread. When people say black men for example are skipped over for superhero films, they forget that even in present day they only make up 6% of population in the USA. It's a pretty small population proportion to feel like you have to wedge them in. To me, we will be at a better state of recognition on race to not make notices of characters based on the color of skin. A good character is a good character, whatever race they are. Let's not chock things up to diversity, we are all humans regardless of where we come from. Why even notice such things and make them an issue? meh, let's just see everyone as equals and leave it as that.

Sigh... If the demo shift were about black vs white you might have the tiniest of points... But it's about the growth of all the so called minorities across the board. These characters and the companies that own the copyrights know this and are acting accordingly now because again... FREE MARKET. Where some fans are holding their breath like little kids hoping to will it away. So sorry, so sad, as my mom says, it's happening whether you like it or not.

Do you guys think Brainiac would still be called "Brainiac" if he was in a live action film?

Im down with that.

Oh, and...dubstep ships :hehe:

Zimmer really loves his dubstep with MOS and TASM2.

Your heart is in the right place, but your words are not. Also, the latino population would like to have a word with you. Oh lawd.

You are right...but unfortunately we are not there yet.
I do not know your race or gender however I am a black male. For me to see a hero who is just like me...it's a big thing. I love Batman and Superman but to see Cyborg on screen..as the lead. It's going to be a little bit extra special.
I remember going to see Red Tails and after the movie an older black woman...who I did not know...came up to me and hugged me...she said for the first time the black guys got to be the heroes. That will stay with me forever.
Never underestimate the power of inclusion.
So bring on the women and minorities as leads in Superhero movies.

Here is the thing. The vast majority of the "big league" comic characters where made at a time where being of a minority or female didn't exactly lend itself to getting one of those spots. Even Wonder Woman has had to go through some pretty dramatic changes to work in a modern time. It just becomes more apparent when you see a group of modern heroes sitting around a table chanting, and it doesn't capture a more modern society.

Huh?

Seriously?

Huh?

For bringing up the thought that Brainiac won't be called Brainiac...

I'm not sure the villain of JL One and Two is Brainiac...is he a behind the scenes manipulator..as rumors of being behind BvS state???

I don't mean to come off as if I'm just putting blinders on to social issues. It just irritates me that we all can't all just see each other as people and leave it at that. All of these classifications for humans beings, gah.

Sorry that history didn't start the moment you were born.

I don't care about race either.

The reason I liked John Stewart is because I thought he was badass in JLTAS as a kid and I still think he can be that way. The only other GL I like is Kilowog and Guy.

We hear ya bud, but at the same time you have to understand that people are affected by these classifications. As a result, we have to be cognizant of ways to alleviate their struggles, and representation is the best way right now. Hopefully we arrive at a point where we can just "ignore" it.

So, basically, what you're telling me is...me wanting to actually see an african american in a starring role of a superhero film....something we actually haven't since 2008, is me making a bigger deal than it is.

Sigh.

Again, its easy to say this stuff when your race/gender/sexuality/etc. is actually getting a healthy amount of positive representation in the media.

I can see where you are coming from. I wish to see society progress to a point where we don't even notice classifications. Imagine everyone seeing an actor on screen and not one time thinking of the race/gender/other classifications in perceptions of the character.
