If this is true, they're drawing a little too much from TDKR for my own tastes.

I shall keep an open mind.

Yeah I can only just stomach Bruce's age gap from Clark.

Carrie being there would just make me feel the disconnect I had when I read Dark Knight Returns. I mean I like that book as a standalone piece, but as part of the DC universe it sits so far to the side of canon.

Barbara Gordon or Carrie Kelly, doesn't matter to me. I'd rather her play Carrie because I really want to see the Batsuit.

If the Batfamily was Bruce, Dick, Carrie and Barbara/Oracle, that'd really be awesome.

Please let her be Barbara Gordon

....okaaaaaay.

That's exactly how I view it, too. I like TDKR, but as far as I see it, its just Elseworld to me.

On the plus side...if she IS Carrie Kelley, at least she's an actual Robin, and not a guy NAMED Robin.

I still think there's a chance she could be playing Lucy Lane.

Dyed red hair, same as Amy Adams. She looks like she could be related to Amy to the point of being her little sister.

I'd prefer General Lane to be cast seeing as we've got military involvement in this just like MOS had.

Other than Mamoa, the worst kept secret of this whole deal a lot of the details of this production have been kept under wraps, even from the trades. Did any of them have the inside line on Miller, the film slate, ect.? Color me skeptical until it's truly confirmed and doesn't come with headlines with question marks at the end. Even if Malone is there, I still think that she'd be Babs.

I hope that at least, Carrie was 13 in TDKR.
her age reaally doesn't matter that much. Malone looks young enough to play Carrie, and they can play around with her age. Carrie Kelly's story is simple. She has lame stoner parents, and she decides to act out against the violence in her city

Or a guy who looks 35.

Couldn't she be a henchperson of Lex's? Doesn't he sometimes have a female "bodyguard"?

Interesting how much he looks like the Batman Forever version.

I have been saying for years...that the BATMAN FOREVER Two-Face was pretty faithful visually compared to what was in the comics.

Now I can believe a report from the Hollywood Reporter (that she has a small role, what that role is, who knows?) but I wasn't going to take a local reporter at face value.

I just hope too much world building isn't crammed into this film, that remains my worst fear.

Amen. **** that guy :woot:

He was not the Robin we deserve

I was watching the Kevin Smith commentary on Batman Forever and he kept commenting on how much Robin doesn't work because they cast a guy in his late twenties.

But flip that around and have 12-14 year old kid and suddenly that dynamic between Kilmer's sullen Bruce and a rebellious young teen works a lot better as you can empathize with the father son relationship.

As Batman Forever is now, it's kind of like Bruce just invites some dude in his late twenties to come live with him... which is a LOT WEIRDER than him taking in a kid as his ward.
