If he takes it then the first question I want to know is for how many films. He could have a stunning arc as Luthor and never been seen again. I would be okay with that if I finally got a Luthor on film I really enjoyed.

I'm serious. It was VARIETY who originally leaked that Neeson was Ra's Al Ghul (and then changed it to Ducard), wasn't it? They're usually spot on, and they don't tend to mess around when it comes to big name actors.

When there's a rumor, I wait until VARIETY confirms it in some fashion.

Variety doesn't post anything without confirmation. I trust them more than anything else...equal to The Hollywood Reporter.

A single film? I think with this thing being full that I would want something later with Lex that is more focused on Superman and Lex.

Now this doesn't mean he's cast......... but there is at least good chance he'll sign on.

If it was just a matter if him being on the shortlist, or if he was desired and would SURELY decline, I doubt they would bother reporting it. Especially this close to filming beginning.


Speaking of which, it shouldn't be much longer we have to wait to find out if he's on board, pr who will play Lex period.

Lex goes to prison at the end of the film and when Brainiac attacks he fuses with him (dumb concept but it will fill nicely if the actor wants to appear in only 1 film).

Hmmm...I undecided about him just doing one film. I mean yeah I will take it, but then there's no more Lex, or Lex would have to be recast if you want him back.

I agree the last series was too Lex oriented, but a Superman film without even the presence of Lex Luthor doesn't feel right.

Is it worth it to have JP (if he agrees) for only one movie? I kind of keep going back and forth over that. *shrugs*

He’s also weighing an offer from Gus Van Sant. GVS is a good friend of his family and worked with River Phoenix. We shouldn't be surprised if he takes that offer instead.

Might be old, but I stumbled upon this Charles Roven (producer) interview that was kinda interesting. I agree with him in that I enjoy and like that Marvel Studios and DC are having two slightly different overall approaches for their superhero flicks. He also mentions that they will announce a title when they have one.
