Physically, yes. But there is more to Darkseid than his muscles.

I think he could pull it off, people make out he's all muscle but he's more than that. I still think Black Adam is the perfect DC role for him.

Eh. I don't know. I've heard he's a decent actor, but I think we can do better than decent for Darkseid.

The Rock as...

This is showing my age.... Imperiex and every story related to him are caca-poo-poo. Forgive my language.

Imperiex was always an odd character to me, I loved him on the LOSH tv show but in the comics I just didn't care for him. He looks to similar to Darkseid too.

I can see The Rock as Lobo easily. I seriously doubt they'd ever consider him for Luthor or John Stewart.

He's just a half assed Kirby inspired character.

Darkseid will probably be CGI anyway, the Rock is good enough for that.

Whoever the Rock is playing, I certainly hope this doesn't turn out to be as disappointing as the Vin Diesel/Groot announcement. When Vin talked about working with Marvel, I was really excited because the guy LOOKS like a superhero or supervillain, and there are a number of characters that I felt he'd be perfect for (Thanos and Vision were probably my top two). And then... it's announced that he's voicing a giant CGI tree man.

I'm still holding out hope that he's also been secretly cast as another character though. It wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened; John Rhys-Davies and Benedict Cumberbatch have both pulled double-duty for the Tolkien movies.

It's the new year and my goal is to spread chuckles

Michigan Film Industry Prepping For Batman-Superman Movie

Grinnell went on to say that the movie will be the largest film shot in Michigan thus far, with a budget of about $131 million, surpassing the amount spent by “Oz: The Great and Powerful,” which filmed in Michigan back in 2011.

“The difference in part is ‘Oz’ did all of their filming at the studios in Pontiac,” Grinnell said. “It was a lot of green screens and set builds there. The Superman-Batman movie will be doing some of that, but they will also be doing some other on-location stuff here in the state.”

With a $131 million budget, that means the production will create hundreds of jobs for crew members and, Grinnell says, about 6,000 jobs for extras, “so it’s a great project for our talented workforce here in Michigan,” she said.

Grinnell said the production is also expected to pump millions – about $5 million in fact – into the hotel industry; not to mention the money that’ll also be spent in the state’s bars, restaurants and other businesses that the cast and crew will be patronizing.

I always thought Imperiex would be cool for a sort of "Darkseid returns secretly" scenario.

And Groot is about Vin Diesel's speed.

budget of $131mill?
That can't be the whole story.
