Also, in regards to that potential spoiler on how the filmmakers may be looking for another female role to be filled in, one that people assumed would be Batman's new love interest in the film; assuming if the source was right, what if that character is Mercy? I mean if we have Lex in this film, it wouldn't be hard to imagine him having someone like Mercy attached to him and if they wanted to give Batman a LI type of character, she could fit the bill..since they didn't something similar with a similar female character (Tess Mercer) from Smallville with Oliver Queen.

What's really sad is that the search for a female character automatically makes people assume that their character is a love interest. There are a ton of other possibilities, none of which have a thing to do with romance for Batman.

Does anyone know if David Brenner is editing again for this film?

Along with feeling slight doubts about how good Goyers script might be for Batman Superman,I'm hoping the editing will also be better than it was in MOS. At least the Fong is confirmed back with Zack this time:word:

Just call it Men in Tights
worked for Mel Brooks

I think he is returning -- he doesn't have anything else on tap right now (he already finished work on 300: Rise of an Empire). William Hoy is co-editing the Apes sequel with Stan Salfas, and he most likely won't be done until after filming on BvS starts.

Cool, thanks for the info. He has done good work before and I might be being a bit harsh on him. When I see MOS again I may feel different as others have said that repeat viewings got better for them.

What did you think about the editing in MOS mclay18?

Superman & Batman's Excellent Adventure or Superman & Batman's Bogus Journey

Ok, so regarding that "title", I'm pretty damn sure it's just a marketing stunt. I mean, look at the title. It's got both Superman and Batman in it, and they're even going head to head. Who doesnt wanna see that?!

Now, I dunno when or what they're gonna call the first teaser when they release it, but I'm somewhat confident that when WB feels they've let people know the layouts and when they feel they've secured asses in the seats, they're gonna change the title into World's Finest or something just as classy. Might not be for a good while though or even before that first teaser, but this VS-thing just seems way too crude to be the actual title for something like this.

You're right, the title is a marketing thing. Plain and simple. But there's no way that WB will release trailers of this film with the title of "Batman Vs. Superman" and then change the title later. If this project gets to the trailer phase and uses the title "Batman Vs. Superman" then that's the title of the film.

So I am the only one who is ok with Batman vs Superman as the Title...

ok

I'm wondering, if this is a weary Batman, who's already plenty experienced, does that mean a good number of his rogues gallery already exist? Especially fantastic ones like Freeze, Ivy and even Clayface? Is he still an urban legend, or does all of Gotham already know about him and does the Police Department already have the Bat Signal on the roof? Does a Robin exist?

they should call it Ver:super:uS

with the "ver" and "us" in the shape of the bat wings.

if i had any drawing talent i would have done that **** already.

I just hope that they go about it where it's because of Superman's efforts that helps in renewing Batman's hope in humanity and his war against injustice

I would go for that.

I would go for that.

I think someone on the Ben Affleck board said it best on how Superman should learn from Batman that he can’t always use his powers to solve a problem in the world and that he needs to be more prepared for situations and be ready to see the evil that humanity can produce, while all in the same time, Batman should learn from Superman that he (Batman) should give people a chance in earning his trust and that not everyone has a vendetta to take over the world or kill him and that Superman reminds him of the passion and idealistic views that he (Batman) once had when he first started his career and thus his war against crime is renewed and reaffirmed by Superman’s actions and character.

I thought his work on MOS was fine. I had some issues with flashback placements within the film (especially the last one at the graveyard), but everything else was nicely cut together. The action sequences couldn't have been in better hands IMO.

If he comes back, great. If Hoy comes back, great. If they both co-edit, even better. If someone new comes along, that'd be fine.

I want a nice, relaxed editing style. I want to be looking at my watch every several moments. No, really.:)

It means that the film cares enough about itself that it's not placating to my (or anyone else's ADHD sensibilities). And it will feel perfect on video, when I can pause and fastforward stuff ;)

But the best editing style is when movies are allowed to breathe, but move quickly in between the breaths. I think MI4 is an example of great editing/pacing. Also, Brad Bird's a strong director :)
