I am not against a Batman/Superman film. I just believe that everything should happen in a proper time and place. I'm sorry but Batman/Superman film is not the right time.
I think Superman characters need more fleshing out before he should be teamed up with another hero. I believe that Superman should have equal chance to enjoy the spot light for a bit longer. Batman has had more chance to enjoy the spot light then any other DC character.
WB/DC keep treating Batman like he is the only DC character that exist. If you're going to do a team up this quickly why do it with Batman? Why not team him up with Wonder Woman?
The truth is MOS should had a sequel and he should have had more solo time. Mean while DC/WB should be pushing Wonder Woman, Flash, A new Green Lantern film on to big screen. Yet we have heard absolutely nothing about these characters other then Wonder Woman might be in Batman vs Superman; which I think will be a massive mistake if it turns out to be true.
Should they copy Marvel; absolutely not. However that doesn't mean that there is no wisdom being patient. DC/WB should focus on other characters while continuing to establish Superman. Then last movie before Justice League they should bring Batman back and team him up with Superman.
I think Batman should take a back seat for a while. As I said he has had more film time then any other character. It's time for him to take a break for a little bit. To much of something isn't always good.
I'm not going to predict how Batman vs Superman will do. I think they are trying to do to many things to quickly. WB/DC don't have a great track record when it comes to making DC movies.
I think that after success of Avengers WB/DC could only think about how fast they can pump out Avengers movie. They have never had any real game plan and it keeps costing them. As I said WB/DC don't have great track records with DC movies. I like what one guy said on Facebook. He said they want to be Marvel with out putting in the time.
Part of the success of Avengers was the build up. Yes it was a great movie but what made it better and sweeter was how each Marvel movie threw stuff in that built up to Avengers. You got to see these characters on there own and as you did you look forward to see that moment when they all come together for the first time on big screen. It's was like four play. You can go straight to the point and it might be good. However it so much better if you take you're time and have fun before you get to the final act if you will.
As I said DC/WB does not have a great track record with DC movies. Batman has been there only real major success. MOS still is the first Superman movie to come along and be really good (depending on who you ask) sense Superman 2. So taking there time would not be a bad way to go.
Also I don't think people are really ready for Batman again. I think people are even less ready to see Ben Affleck as Batman. Let me be blunt this movie all hinges on Ben Affleck. If the story is not perfect and epic the movie is going to drown and audience are going to pick it and Ben Affleck apart. Worse is that it will take Superman down and we won't see any more Superman movies for a good long while. You can kiss Justice League down the drain.
Now my personal belief is that it will do fine at box office enough for them to push forward with Justice League movie. However the numbers will not reflect how people feel about the movie it self. I think people are going to walk out disappointed. I think this will tank Justice League.
I know a lot of you are saying you don't know that. You're right I don't know that for a fact. I only need to look at WB/DC track record to come to this conclusion. WB/DC has no game plan they are just reacting to the success of Avengers. Had they gone in to this with a game plan then here is where they would be. Bale would been signed to do three Batman movies as well as a Justice League movie if not all three. The third Batman movie would not have been written what was it 7 years after The Dark Knight and would not have ended with Bruce Wayne lossing everything and walking away from being Batman. We would be see them working on Wonder Woman and Flash as we speak and not hearing about Batman vs Superman which might also include Wonder Woman. No what where hearing is Batman vs Superman movie which might also contain Wonder Woman. All in the hopes of getting to Justice League movie that much faster. What where hearing is a lot of rushing and not enough timing and planning.
In the end we will have to see. It's possible I will change my stance when I actually see trailer for Batman vs Superman (doubt full but who knows). Right now it just makes me mad because I wanted to see Superman in spot light a bit more before having to share it with another hero. I guess we can't always get what we want. I am just burned out on Batman. I loved The Dark Knight series but thought WB where morons for writing and ending it they way they did.
Any way that is just my opinion.
Good post.
The ending had nothing to do with WB, it was all Nolan, and I thank God the studio didn't tell Nolan to do a different ending just so they can keep their business going. That stuff makes me sick to my stomach as a person who is a fan of artists who have creative freedom. It's basically like Breaking Bad's ending versus Dexter's ending. A perfect case of
what to do versus
what not to do. AMC gave Vince Gilligan freedom while Showtime told Dexter's people "you cant kill Dexter Morgan, you cant do this because we need to use him for future business. He's our cash cow". Pathetic.
As for what you're saying about it being too soon? Ill admit to this. Im a Batman fan first and foremost and im greedy

. The fan in me will always be excited to have more Batman as quick as possible. Ill jump for joy if Affleck's suit is awesome, same with the trailers. I love the fact that a new batman is out in less than 2 years with possibly more coming 2 years after that. Affleck is both a good and bad choice for me. But....
It's a bit too soon, sure. It'll make a ****load of money. Sequels will be made. Superman fans will be happy but may feel like he's overshadowed. Batman fans will be happy but might be underwhelmed if they don't like the direction or Ben himself. All I know is people are curious to see how this new Batman turns out but they're not exactly excited are they?
Rises was out last year. People were watching the movie for the first time on Blu-ray just in January of this year. The damn trilogy boxset was
just released which has gotten a lot of fans attention again. Yes it's too soon even if the bat fan inside of me is feeling anxious.
The "foreplay" for Avengers didn't really matter because a good amount of people didn't see Thor, Captain America, etc beforehand. They still went to see Avengers. Like how a lot of people saw TDK without seeing Batman Begins. Sure it matters in this case because you cant just jump into a JLA but I don't think it matters in the grand scheme of things. Batman vs Superman is a test for the new Batman and a quick way to battle Marvel since Bats & Supes together actually gains more interest than a single Justice League because a lot of people don't give a **** about Aquaman/Green Lantern. They don't know Martian Manhunter or Cyborg. Flash has likeability with all audiences but it truly depends on the actor in this case. Heck, a Trinity film would do just as well as Justice League.
They want to bank on Batman because he's bigger than ever now with the success of TDKR, the Arkham games, the comics. That's why they didn't wait. It's smart but if they truly wanted to take a break from the character of Bruce Wayne while keeping the popularity of the product going, they should have done a movie with Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Nightwing or Batman). But no, it's about the money so Affleck's position will do versus Superman so DC doesn't get lost in the Star Wars/Avengers 2 phenomenon.
