I personally don't like the zod trying to kill himself angle. If I believed that was the case, I'd have issues with the set up. But I can't argue with what people take away on that level.

That's fine, we all find what we think works best.

I do think that Zod would have killed Superman and gone on a rampage on Earth if he could, but eventually his will to live and fight couldn't be kept up when he had no true reason to. He lived to preserve Krypton.

I can see how he lost his true passion in and perhaps for life, but he def still has a reason to life. He said as much and I don't believe this dude is a above living for revenge. I like the "I'm going to make them suffer Kal...for choosing them" angle most.

Rock actually responded on twitter ... of course, he didn't deny it. ;)

Dwayne Johnson ‏@TheRock 4m

All I said was.. #LanternCanWhupSuperman RT: @IGN: Did @TheRock reveal that he's playing John Stewart/Green Lantern

WB should really make this happen.

I didn't like the plane save...or at least it should have been composed much differently, especially the end. But really just a drop in a pretty leaky bucket.

lol, apt analogy.

I liked it up until Routh says those verbatim STM lines and stands there stiffly and blankly while the crowd cheers. Everything else was solid from an entertainment standpoint (I think there's some errors in physics, but they don't bother me too much).

I think the Rock is John Stewart. He just wants to play a coy little game for some reason.

Seems to me like they probably told him it was ok to "tease" things online but WB is waiting to officially announce anything for some reason.

Wow. The Rock responded due to news I put out and found it's way on IGN. What a honor.

Also here's the first photo of John Stewart in Superman/Batman.

So true.

I have a feeling WB has plans to storm another comic con with announcements this year.

Man of Steel: Heroes Reunited

Just dreaming.

And I liked Sam Hunnington's Jimmy in SR...I thought he was great. Very good casting there.

But Dave Franco would be awesome....I'd love it if he got to play Jimmy.

Is it weird that Jon Stewart's head actually kind of looks good on the GL body? It's his well coiffed hair...

Stewart for Hal Jordan. :o

Also, I hate when people spell John Stewart like "Jon Stewart".... get it right. It's never been spelled like that in anything ever.

Alan Scott :woot:

Dat grey hair.

They actually made a Jon Stewart joke in GL TAS.

If you're strong enough to break someone's neck then you're strong enough to make that person look wherever you want. Superman is shown to be strong enough to throw Zod a block away. Not a big deal though, it's a superhero movie.

Just as an extra thing on the side, it's actually impossible to break someone's neck that way, the neck is too strong (stronger than most people think). If you could break someone's neck like that it would happen pretty often when people got punched, fell etc. This isn't really the issue though as while it's a real pet peeve of mine in movies I've come to accept it as a movie trope. It's the same thing with strangling in movies, as what we always see would cause the strangled people to wake up a few seconds later.
Umm no, that's not how that works at all. Being able to break someone's neck in one quick motion does not mean that "you're strong enough to make them do whatever you want." It just mean that you can break one of the weakest/most vulnerable parts of their body. It does not mean, for example, that you can beat them in a straight up fight.

There's this thing called exhaustion where it becomes more difficult and one is less effective as they physically exert themselves.

And impossible to break someone's neck that way? Just no--unlikely, but possible, especially for Superman.

Lantern can imagine Kryptonite. But how does he have that comic knowledge? :wow:
A lantern does not need only Kryptonite to kill superman. He could zap him to death etc.. or other ways.lanterns given a power boost or have powers of thier own combine with green lantern power etc..could just beat superman to death with thier fist.

Green Lantern could totally whoop Superman's ass. It just depends on their willpower.

True and the writer that's consistent because green lantern were made to deal with problems superman can't not deal with or handle

Some examples of green lantern power.

- First, it's pretty well established that Superman has a healthy respect for Green Lantern power.

- Second, at least some Green Lanterns (Hal Jordan and John Stewart, specifically) are capable of stopping Superman in his tracks if they have to.

In Red Son and in Injustice Gods Among Us he's shown to break through constructs. As well as that Clark could use his super speed to remove the Lantern Ring.
