LOL I'm not asking all villains to somehow team up, it's not impossible but highly unlikely. it's just weird they suddenly disappear when superheroes teams up and fight a "bigger" villain then reappear in solo movies. for the heroes, after teaming up (in an instant) they somehow "forget" each other in their solo movies. there could be simple explanations why but it just looks weird sometimes.

Ok, I had an amusing thought when I watched the film again a while back. But, I think this Superman has to yell whenever he does something really hard. I expect this to be consistent throughout all the films. t:

I've seen moderators in here, but those people are human beings, and this thread grows by ~10 pages a day.

You know what I would love in Superman/Batman? A full-fledged, Daily Planet Clark Kent action scene, glasses and all. Obviously away from society, but how cool would it be to see Cavill's portrayal as DP Clark Kent, suit and tie/glass's in an amazing and dramatized heroic action sequence? That would make for a satisfying visual.

since Man of Steel is basically like a prequel to a full blown Superman movie, it's expected we'll see more Daily Planet Clark.

Yup, here we go again. Every time a Marvel movie comes out, we get "See? Marvel gets it, DC doesn't!"

I finally saw Thor: The Dark World the other day on On Demand. It was OK. Just OK. Glad I didn't spend money on it in the theaters.

Man of Steel gets raked over the coals, but Thor: The Dark World gets better ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.

Marvel can put out a so-so product and no one complains. WB puts out the best Superman movie since the early 80s and the movie gets picked apart.

Marvel Studios is overrated. Particularly in the quality of their films.

There movies are good...... entertaining mostly. But to say Marvel does well at telling solid, well put together stories, moreso than other CBM studios......... eh. That's a bit of a stretch. They typically have a good basis, but the executions is poor most of the time.

There's only 2 MS films that did a truly solid job with that, and that was Iron Man and CA: The Winter Soldier.

I'd say The Avengers is also thoroughly entertaining too.

I can't say they've done a film I'd call bad (this is not an inference I think Man of Steel is before anyone jumps the gun).

I can like and dislike both DC and Marvel movies.

Hopefully once filming starts we can temporarily drift away from Marvel vs DC and start overanalyzing set photos and find something new to complain about.

Lego Wonder Woman doesn't do anything in the movie. As a viewer, I kept expecting her to do something, to have an impact, and she shown to be in a position where she could have an impact, but then she doesn't do anything.

That's a brilliant critique of Wonder Woman's portrayal on film.

I know that I'm not reaching because each of the portrayals for the other three DC heroes were also critiques. She stands out as having the least lines, Green Lantern has the next least, then Superman.

Not really, Green Lantern was shown as a fan boy. I don't really get how Superman in the Lego Movie was a "critique" of what we have seen on film either.

I was thinking it would be awesome to have some villain plans and events bleed over into other movies.

Something like this:

After BvS, Lex Luthor, still free and with good publicity, is approached by the Legion, a collection criminals led by immortals like Vandal Savage, Ra's Al Ghul, Ares, and Circe. He's supposed to work for them.

In Justice League, we see the villains observing the heroes versus a bigger threat, and we find out that they swept in to take their failed peers stuff afterwards.

In Batman, Talia is revealed to be working in Lex Corp, and the badguys are recruited by the Legion, making their name more literal than originally revealed. Also, it's implied that someone managed to steal stuff from the Bat-computer.

In Wonder Woman, Ares and Circe transform a mercenary warrior recommended by Ra's and Vandal into the Cheetah, and it's established she doesn't want to be a henchmen.

In Justice League 2, Lex is running for president and unleashes Batman's anti-Justice League plans. The league barely survives, but manage to cause the legion to self-destruct by revealing that Luthor was planning a coup. Lex still succeeds with the help of Talia, Cheetah, and the Joker as his kingmaker, but his new Secret Society is smaller and most go underground.

In Green Lantern, the Society allies with Sinestro to give him a foothold in Sector 2814, but he's driven away.

In Flash, Zoom actually ends up fighting Flash and the Secret Society affiliated Rogues, setting a precedent for heroes and villains working together.

In Trinity, Cheetah breaks with the Society because of a new ally they have named Libra, while Lex unleashes the Joker to cover his tracks as tries to completely evade Superman. With all three super-villains temporarily out of the picture, Libra approaches the remaining villains and a returned Vandal Savage about selling their selves into a deal for power.

In Justice League 3, Savage is possessed by Darkseid. Half the villains stay allied with him, the other half join the League in fighting back.

DC's got a bigger reputation for villain team ups, so something more integrated like this would be cool.

Makes sense I suppose. There are many similarities between Arrow and Batman Begins. That not a bad thing, it's actually one of the reasons I'm enjoying arrow so much.

None of them are bad per say, but they aren't very much more than popcorn films.

And I mean that in the best way possible.

It's just a fact that they haven't tried to reach (and pardon the comparison) TDK level of cbm storytelling,

I don't think they need Nolan. He didn't provide any fail safe for MOS's script, so I don't think it would be the end of it all if he weren't involved this time.

Nolan is a hands off producer according to himself and Snyder. Nolan didn't even like the idea of Superman killing Zod.

Actual this was false I believe. It was all hearsay with Amell basically commenting on rumours not facts as he isn't privy to the discussions going on at WB.

Stephen Amell basically said at some ComicCon that he heard from a producer on Arrow that someone at WB studios said Nolan approves everything. It was nothing but rumours.

Christopher Nolan famously doesn't own a Cell phone or have a Email address.

Nolan said that people on his sets always have phones, so it's easier to get in touch with him during filming. (Nolan is also anti-email and text.)

Got a question: Is Nolan still going to produce/be involved or is Affleck going to exert more of an influence?

He is probably exec producing this film but will be even more hands off than the first.

The problem is having a 75-year-build up is a two edged sword. Superman has to be retooled for the 21st century. I think they did a very good job at that in MOS. Still, having the long history makes things difficult at times. Some critics and viewers react negatively if you do not follow the form of past films, while others will attack if you do. And a times the same viewer will attack from both sides.

I adore the Donner films but I felt that Superman, at least cinematically, had been preserved in amber for thirty five years. He never really evolved beyond the Donner films, and the Singer film, by his own intention, was an homage, sort of a direct sequel.

I also thought that he had been stuck in this Norman Rockwell, big blue boy scout, spit-curl era. A lot of people were questioning if Superman was still relevant, whether or not he could be meaningful. It’s been interesting to see the public’s reaction over the last year ago, and just the fact that people are talking about Man of Steel as much as they are now, it makes me feel like we’ve done our job right.

Goyer's absolutely right in that quote. The fact that a year later MoS is still, arguably, the most talked about big blockbuster film says a lot about them succeeding in making him relevent. People are continually debating about what Supes means, what this new Supes means, what him killing Zod means for the future, etc...I can't say anywhere close to the same amount of discussion was had about Superman Returns. People saw that movie, liked or disliked it (most just found it boring) and then forgot about it fairly quickly.

I think some overplay the dislike of MOS and its connection to the "love" for the Donner films.
