I've seen all the Fast and Furious films and I don't remember at any point Gal Gadot being memorable apart from just being eye candy. She's a wooden actress... similar to January Jones in a way. I fear Gal is going be DC's version of Emma Frost from First Class (maybe worse?).

Halle Berry in Catwoman had more personality (and better writing) than her.

I dont find January Jones attractive plus Gadot will be kicking MAJOR ass as Wondy, so im sure she will be much better. But i agree with you about her acting + eye candy.

Gadot is pretty underrated.

As a big fan of the Fast and Furious films (of which she has appeared in 3), I think she's pretty good, and has only improved over the years.

Pretty good? Yikes! She's not good at all, she's just average for the scenes she had to do. That's not why she was hired for those movies though. It was sex appeal. Fast movies are all style, so she passable for what she was given.

I think you're way off here.

If anything, the challenge for Zimmer to not repeat himself is probably one of the main reasons he'd sign on for this. He's not going to subconciously bring back similar sounds for a new Batman theme. The man's a total professional and somewhat of a musical genius. He's far from a "one trick pony". He wouldn't sign on if he didn't feel that he had something compelling and unique to bring to the table.

Composing music for a film score is an organic process. A composer just doesn't come up with a simple theme which is then slapped onto a film. The score will depend on the look, feel, tone, and story of this new film. Since this will most likely be a Batman/Superman film unlike anything we've seen before, the score will most certainly reflect that.

I'm very excited to see what he comes up with for this.

If he reinvents it then ill be stoked. But i dont think he'll do that because he's so attached to his previous work and he seems worried about it actually.

OK quick lesson...when evaluating someone's acting ability there are several things to consider...the amount of time the person is in the movie/movies, what that person does in that time, what the script and director have that person doing...

1) We have not seen enough of Gal's acting ability to determine if she is good or bad.
2) In the F&F movies she has been in the back ground most of the time.
3) With her being in the background of those movies she wasn't given much to do

so can we really comment on her acting ability?

TBH she doesn't really have to act well. All she has to do it fight and be stoic. Her lines will probably be minimal and marginalized at first....character depth can come later.

Well, in theory she'll have never had contact with the outside world at this point, so she'll likely be reserved at first. Not only will she have been living in an Amazonian type world, but never interacted with men, or modern technology, or anything like that. Can't expect her to be a funny social butterfly type of person.

If the plan is to make a bunch of movies, then they don't need to flesh her out in this one. It will likely be more of an introduction with something to build on in the future imo.

Im not saying that. Im saying they're bringing him back to also do the new Batman theme. But if you know Zimmer's style, you know he will subconsciously bring back similar sounds. He's afraid of doing this himself. I think it's stupid of Zack to ask him to supply a new Batman theme. Superman? Absolutely. But get a new composer for Bats.

Having said that, he's still pretty good, and I guess they're keeping him for continuity from Man of Steel.

There is good news though. Zimmer recently said that he's done with the big drums, percussion. He's doing Nolan's Interstellar and he's doing something very different. So maybe he'll come up with something new but i dont think he will for Bats because he's already been there, done that. Listen to his score for 12 years a slave, it's pretty much "Time" from Inception done in a much more subtle way throughout the movie.

I guess saying he's done with big percussion can only be a good thing, he's been relying on it for 15 years. I'm actually looking forward to his Interstellar score knowing he'll be working outside his box.

finally had a chance to watch All Star Superman last night.

I missed the 1st 20 minutes or so, so I was a little lost. and I never read the graphic novel.

I liked it, and I felt it had something that MOS lacked.

I felt MOS, with all its spectacle and awesome fight scenes, kind of missed the mark on what Superman "stands for."

it was certainly alluded to, with Jor-El's "You will give them an ideal to strive towards......."

but by the end of the film, it never really got around to that......to how Superman inspires us.......to how he stands for that "ideal of hope."

I'm hoping that will be a core focus of the next film, especially in contrast to Lex.
