I don't think being open-minded means you have to automatically be willing to defend every little rumor. Just because to me the urband legend rumor sounds pretty lame on paper, doesn't mean I'm not going to be open to the idea of it working in the movie and the movie being good overall -either in spite of it or because of it.

Marvin, you know me from the TMNT subforum so you know my goal isn't just to blindly hate on everything. The urban legend rumor just makes me raise an eyebrow, that's all, and I'm even putting too much stock into the rumor tbh.

When I start talking as to the agenda of the detractors on this issue with descriptions such as blind hate, then be sure to remind me not to. Till then I will go on, not asserting non of the above and simply addressing the points.

Can't say the same the other way however. People will think what they think I suppose. Have your concerns, share them even, just expect to hear the opposing opinion and or the other side ever now and then is all.

We all have our concerns I guess, me included.

Which property were you hoping to see him do?
I always wanted a batman film made(written) but the Seven team.

Given the bulk of cbm made in the last 5 or so years, I can't see him being all too excited with the 'genre'.

He just called cbms 'dull' in an interview. I can't blame him for thinking that way...they all follow a simple formula for the most part.

As do most films. I think it's rather closed minded to call them dull, it's up to the director/storyteller to make them interesting.

I have no problem with them not liking the genre. QT and Fincher don't have to make a cbm. It's not about lacking balls or anything like that, they just aren't fans, I'm fine with it....disappointed but fine.

Absoultely! But at the same time, I won't give them slack for not liking them...some ppl just don't.
