You want a good scary villain you need a villain that doesn't just come in and do a lot of trash talking and then just get his butt handed to him through out the film.

This is EXACTLY the case with Loki in Avengers :funny:

elmayimbe isn't always right, but a while ago he was saying that Ryan Gosling was considering a superhero role that he had been offered.

Ryan Gosling had discussions with WB about Batman, and he has talked about The Flash in the past.

Ryan Gosling turned down Batman because of the multiple sequels he would have to do.

I don't think there are going to be solo Flash movies, so signing for Flash would be a lot less commitment than signing on for Batman.

Ryan Gosling isn't impossible. His name keeps coming up for DC's superhero projects... Ben Affleck's name kept popping up related to DC stuff before he was cast as Batman. He was considered as the director for MOS and Justice League.

I think they should use the kid from The Flash and Arrow to make up Justice League. This would kill two birds with one stone. First it would eliminate two origin stories all together. This would effectively allow more screen time to be devoted to other things then character backgrounds. The second thing it would allow them to do is tie in with Tv shows they are doing.

I know some of you are going to hate that but the idea should be a shared universe not pocket universe where they are all separated. It allows you to be creative and do interesting things that you might not be able to do other wise.

What if in the course of the Flash, Arrow, Constantine, etc of Darksied arrival in Justice League. You have that hint and build up to something massive. Then the events of the movies can be referenced and have ripple effects in those shows as well.

I don't get why WB is segregating everything the way they are. Tie everything together gives you a lot of creativity. All the shows and movies can still do there own create stories and direction but at the same time add in elements that build on the whole. In short very much like a comic book.

When there massive cross over story lines each character has it's own story that plays a part in the greater whole. It doesn't take away from who or what that character is. It doesn't confine the writers in how or what they write. It just means they work with it and help expand the greater whole. Any what that's just my opinion any way.

This is EXACTLY the case with Loki in Avengers :funny:

Yea but Loki is that way in the comic. He not really a fighter per say. He use illusions and trickery to accomplish his goals. Yet look in movie the mange to leave the Avenger broken and disbanded before they came together. Don't forget the fact that he impaled Agent Coulson.

Zod was so bad and pathetic that he had to be rescued from Superman cause he was getting beat down so badly. The only real fight he put up was at the very end of the movie and he should been beating Superman down through most of the movie.

I dont even think i would watch it in the cinema if the tv Arrow and Flash were in Justice League along with Momoa, Gadot, Fisher, Cavill and in this case poor Affleck. Im already getting annoyed at the idea of Justice League, since i dont care for any villains outside of Darkseid but at the same time im sick of seeing alien invasions. So im at a point where i just want to see Batman v Superman and some solo films.

You know what, I think I agree. Unless WB can make their JL movie unique and add a twist to it, it'll just be the same ol thing.

Well I'm not a fan of any of the things they are doing. I love Arrow and Flash but beyond that not really thrilled with a lot of the choices WB has made.

LOL. I do, just not a lot of what WB are doing with their comic book universe. I love everything im hearing when it comes to the Batman portion of this new universe at least. B v S could win me over with this whole Justice League thing. But right now im way too excited for other things in film/tv that happen to be outside of comic book characters. Im sick of alien invasion stories. I feel like MOS and Avengers both made me burn out on the concept, and now i dread seeing another Avengers movie with a similar plot, a Justice League or even the 2nd Independance Day.

They also desperately need great, and i mean great actors to fill out the role of the JL villain, as well as Flash/Green Lantern. They are seriously lacking in the acting department in this team-up. They need a couple of actors who are least on par with Affleck if not better. Im not the biggest fan of Avengers but even they had a star studded cast, who can act well. WB need to step up their game.

In conclusion, you sir just like Batman better! Just say it. :oldrazz: He's the best. Also we haven't seen these other films to see how lacking they are in the 'acting' department...

That's quite a blanket statement there. You do realize that some of us LIKED the previous movie, don't you? At least a few of us will be walking into this without a feeling of, "Well this will probably suck but I've got a couple months until the next Marvel film, so I'll give this turd a shot."

Exactly, Seems a lot of people that had their problems with the movie think that their negative opinion is universally held.
It's not.
A good number thought it was terrific. I'd even be willing to bet more really liked it than didn't.

I heard people here say how bad and scary the villains are going to be. Yet I found Loki to be more frighting then I found Zod.

You want a good scary villain you need a villain that doesn't just come in and do a lot of trash talking and then just get his butt handed to him through out the film. You need a villain that just goes to town on the hero and beats him down physically, emotionally and mentally. You need to make the hero work for the victory.

I felt that Zod was a weak and pathetic villain which is far from the case in the comic book. If this is the sort of villains we can expect from WB then there movies are going to be lame.

That's what worries me most about this movie. Considering Lois Lane could kick the crap out of this Lex Luthor. They picked one of the least intimidating actors in Hollywood to play Lex, so they better have one hell of a secondary villain to do his dirty work for him.

Yes, I know Lex is not a physical threat villain, doesn't make it any better, doesn't change my opinion.

I'm sorry, but aside from Zod who was fair enough, DC/WB don't need help in the villains department. Jesse will do fine, and I say this in guessing that he'll of course be a Lex that will be psychologically threatning rather than physically. Least of my worries really.

I liked Zod. What I didn't like is that after this:

Iz2TEog.gif

... he seemed to have forgotten anykind of martial training.

Although he did get owned by a scientist... oh those kryptonians, it's not a surprise their planet blew up.

I laugh everytime now because it's so poorly written as a death scene. A) Clark doesn't save his dad because he told him not to? Any son would just go ahead and save him anyway B) Clark could have easily saved the dog and flew into the cornfield where nobody could see them so Pa's choice was ******ed C) i love dogs but you're going to risk your life for a dog during a tornado? again..dumb D) what kind of dog would seem scared to leave a friggin death car like that with a tornado about to destroy it? Any normal dog would flee the scene as soon as Jonathan opens the door to let him out. It was all done in post, that's why the dogs barking at Costner and hesitates in the car. He's not used to Costner obviously.

Everything about that scene was so unnatural and stupid. There's no way i would get tears from it. The only scene that could have made me teary eyed was the scene at the end where Jonathan sees his son pretending to be a hero. That was a truly warm scene, and if isolated, it may make me emotional but ive never tried watching it as a clip on its own. But in the context of the movie, i dont feel too much when it occurs because im already exhausted and numb from the repetitive fighting in the 3rd act.

Actually, there may be one scene that ALMOST made me tear up, and that was when Jor-El and especially Lara are sending Kal-El off. That almost does it each time i watch it.

Right on. Because it should be the 60-year-old guy doing the running and saving while the invulnerable superalien goes for cover? Superman wouldn't let his father die, period. And you can replace "Superman" with "any properly wired human being". That scene is crap.

Jonathan's death was utterly nonsensical, but I still think it's better than Superman and Lois kissing on top of a genocide scene.

are you talking about one of his calculated guesses re him having a baby with eva? because, i came to the same conclusion here, and i got there with common sense. the fact that he just had a kid, could sway him to do one of these parts but i wouldn't hold my breath for it.

It directly followed the "you're not even my real Dad" thing. It was a gesture to show that was ********, Jonathan is his Dad and he trusts him.

... This happened YEARS before he learned to fly.

So is taking in a baby that fell out of space. So yeah... Caring about things is kind of his weakness.

I've never seen a dog in a car during a tornado, so if you say so.

Yeah maybe it was just a calculated guess, but he made it seem like Gosling had a superhero offer on the table.

Ryan Gosling as Flash is something everyone can agree upon

and McConaughey will be everyone's pick for Hal Jordan after Interstellar. I'd love if WB could get those two, it would add a lot of momentum to Justice League. The cast is made up of small names and Ben Affleck and there are two slots left. The Avengers had a more recognizable cast, i think GL and Flash will go to big names. Flash and GL are the last major superhero roles to be cast for a while, until someone reboots. And apparently Terrio knocked the script outta the park, so I can see those two roles attracting some big name talent.

Eh, I don't think most people had issues with either scene.
At it's most basic, most people would've taken away sacrifice as the theme of that scene which was the point and mid-action/post fight romance is pretty common in action movies so, whatever.

How about Dr. Destiny? He would make a good villain.

Umm, Zod had to be rescued from Superman because his senses were disoriented by Earth's atmosphere and yellow sun since his shield was destroyed. He hadn't adapted completely yet. The reason he didn't put up a fight the first time is because he couldn't.
