Eh, I don't care for the idea of casting an actor who did a voiceover for the live action version of whichever character.

Ok so let's replace Henry Cavill with Channing Tatum since Channing voiced Superman.

Some predictions regarding the DCCU and the DCTVU

-Joe Manganiello will play Shazam. He was the runner up for Superman in MOS, and he was one of the few actors seriously considered for Batman and Superman

-Matthew Goode will play Brainiac. Or The Flash. Goode was the only other actor besides Manganiello to be considered by Snyder for the roles of Batman and Superman.

-Rodrigo Santoro will play Darkseid. Snyder is known to reuse actors from his previous films, and Santoros portrayal of Xerxes in 300 is very similar to the way Darkseid should be portrayed. His voice in that movie would be perfect for Darkseid.

-Chadwick Boseman as John Stewart. Boseman randomly brought up green Lantern when asked if he would be playing Black Panther. He has a strong relationship with WB, he looks the part, and he attended the MOS premiere and appeared to be very chummy with some of the higher ups at WB.

-if John Stewart is in the Justice League film, I think that means no spinoff Green Lantern series. If John is used in the movies, I think we will get a Hal Jordan tv series set within the DCTVU. I'd be fine with no Hal Jordan in the movies, and no GL solo films if we got a good Hal Jordan tv series.

-Charlie Hunnam as The Flash. The guy has experience with big budget films at WB, so he's certainly on their radar. There was a rumor that Hunnam is who WB has in mind for The Flash, and that there is concept art with Hunnam in the role of The Flash. It was also rumored that Hunnam turned down 50 Shades of Grey so that he could play an even higher profile character.

If that pans out how would you all feel about this being our cast

Superman: Henry Cavill
Batman: Ben Affleck
Wonder Woman: Gal Gadot
The Flash: Charlie Hunnam
Green Lantern: Chadwick Boseman
Aquaman: Jason Momoa
Cyborg: Ray Fisher
Shazam: Joe Manganiello
Darkseid: Rodrigo Santoro
Brainiac: Matthew Goode
Lex Luthor: Jesse Eisenberg

I dont think Joe M plays Shazam and I think we arent getting Darkseid yet so he wont be cast but other than that I cant much complain. :)

I disagree about whether John could lead to a GL spinoff film but I think Hal will be on tv in some capacity. Whether he gets his own series I dont know but it is not hard to read the tea leaves that the guys behind Arrow and Flash want to make him a character.

Joe M for Shazam you say.. :hmm
I LIKE IT!
If you've seen him in comedic roles he plays them really well, I think he could play a terrific man-child.

I stopped collecting in the 90's but I still have quite a large collection of books. And every once in a while I'll go get a few out of the boxes and read them again. I guess I'll hand them to my grandson one day. My son isn't that interested in them.

Its a shame your son isnt that interested in comics. I remember a while back going to a kids party and asking them who likes comics? And that went down like a lead balloon because there was this long pause and I asked them "you know Batman, Superman? What about Spider-Man?" and the kids all looked blank-faced until a girl finally spoke up and said that she occasionally reads an Archie. And I thought wow, how times change. When I was a kid, many of the kids read comics.

Charlie Hunnam won't be Flash for one reason. He will be tied up through most of 2015 filming King Arthur which has a 2016 release date as well and is from WB. Guy Ritchie is not the fastest director around, so expect Hunnam's schedule to be full thanks to King Arthur.

I think Armie Hammer could nail his personality. Just my opinion though :halo:

Ben confirmed my deep suspicions that his entrance jettisoned Goyer's script right out the window (at least the character beats and major pacing and story elements). He almost seems dismissive of Goyer by saying the script wasn't written by some "comic guy".

The minute Terrio was brought in, it was to set a precedent of quality control and a way for Ben to somewhat micromanage the story elements that would affect his character thus knowing he'll have good character material to work with, but also seemingly sparring Superman and Cavill by still making him very much the central piece to tie everything in.

As much as I like Goyer, I'm glad that Affleck was brought into the picture and word is that his selection was entirely that of the WB heads. While it may still be premature to call it a victory I sense a major win for Warner Brothers here.
that's the part I'm Really skeptical about.I worry that Terrio might have made the movie Bat centric to favour Affleck.

We've seen Cavill on set as Clark/Supes far more than we've seen Affleck as Bruce/Bats (the latter we haven't seen at all), not to mention the only confirmed villain so far is Lex, who is Supes villain. and Supes supporting cast is pretty much all confirmed as returning while the only supporting Batman character we've had confirmed is Alfred. I very much believe that this is still very much Supes film and that we'll be for the most part seeing these heroes and villains from his perspective. I wouldn't worry about it.

Ooh good point!

Hmm i'd say Matthew Goode is the most likely candidate then for Flash

Well Terrio and Affleck are friends, so I think he will have his best interests at heart when writing the script. But as for Affleck in a wider-capacity, I think he's there to shore up the box office potential, Warner Bros needed a big name for the next movie and Cavill really isnt a big box office draw, so Batman vs Superman makes sense for the studio to do since Batman is so popular. But you can be sure, people will be watching closely when the movie is released to see who gets top billing and the most screen time, and more importantly who carries the movie as far as the audience is concerned.

And Jason Momoa will be filming another King Arthur.
Someday.

You see it's almost like an insult to think that Terrio will automatically write parts to favor Ben.....why would a writer brought in to fix the script, change things to suit himself, Ben, and not the story?.....it wouldn't be up to him....if anything it would be WBs call

Damn straight.

Terrio will just flat out right good dialogue for the characters. Gunn did that perfectly for Snyder in Dawn of the Dead. It all felt incredibly natural and that's what BvS needs.

MOS was great and all but the dialogue was constantly in the realm of expository and hardly ever a "natural" interaction if that makes any sense. It was very stilted.

as we've seen from certain animated movies, and loads of comics,it is very possible to make this movie Batcentric even in the absence of a Batman cast.and you can see why WB might be inclined to do so after all Batman is their most profitable hero.

I'll admit that the media has certainly given the "lead" role of this film to Affleck anyway but that's to be expected. He's a high profile actor and playing arguably the most popular superhero of this day and age.

That doesn't necessarily mean it'll translate exactly like that on film. I feel both will feed off of each other on film. The whole thing will have a ton of synergy if anything.

RDJ got top billing in Avengers but Cap got more Screentime.

Hopefully Batman V Superman is something like that.
