Fail to see what it is that people find so 'cringeworthy' about the Flash pilot.

Whatever people might be feeling, The Flash pilot gave the network its highest-rated premiere in six years. It also out-delivered the premiere of Arrow by thirteen percent. So its a ratings hit, and moving forward it will be interesting to see how the series retains its audience, much like Gotham.

The Flash pilot was amazing. Best live action CBS, right now.

Flash got higher ratings then AOS. That's big.

Didn't see it but I recorded it and will watch it tonight.

I mean, you would hope that a show with an actual super hero on it would beat out Agents of Shield.

:funny: It's not really "big" or shocking that the Flash got higher ratings than AoS.

It's an over the top, tired phrase actually...

Yup.
Everytime I see it used, I think there's yet another person just repeating stuff he's read on the internet because they can't think for themselves. To me, it makes whatever negative opinion they were trying o express somewhat suspect.

I expected it to beat AOS...it gave people what they were expecting with AOS...a superhero doing stuff.
Which baffled my mind when their second show on ABC was announced as Agent Carter aka AOS in the 40's. Marvel has thousands upon thousands of superheroes and we can't get one on ABC (yes I know they are doing the Netflix Defenders)
but
you know people want to see superheroes.

Articles such as that come across as a little too much like everybody should act the same, think the same way. Speculating is part of the entertainment industry/what fans do. If people are so bothered by speculating/talking about things that havent come out yet, then dont read them.

Did you even read the article? It said that people can and will speculate, but to never take speculation as fact (which a lot of people both on this board and elsewhere seem to do).

Speculate away, don't assume your speculation is the only interpretation or the only right thing.

So true. I'd also watch the **** out of a Deadpool series.

Actually, it is pretty shocking that Flash debuted so high. The CW has an upper limit, their shows have a ceiling of 5-6M viewers max. So to rate a 1.8 in 18-49 with just 5M viewers is almost unheard of, it is probably the most unexpected ratings start this fall tv season.

Really? Versus AoS? It's the Flash! People like him. He was more in demand than AoS.

Considering half of America doesn't know what channel CW is on their television, I'd say those are remarkable numbers.

Deadpool is getting a movie...and owned by Fox
Here's my list of characters who will probably not be in a movie but would make a pretty awesome TV show:

Moon Knight - he'd be perfect
Werewolf By Night - it's time to ease up on Zombies and vampires
Hercules - Marvel's Herc in modern society would be a license to print money
Hellcat - a female lead show about a female superhero...who's in love with the son of satan...seriously why isn't this a show?

Shang Chi - a master of martial arts on TV...we love movies like the Transporter/Taken/The Equalizer...so why not bring all that action to TV

the cw is a smaller network than abc though, i think.

True, but considering the CW has a primarily niche audience, those are fantastic numbers.

From the official CW press release

THE FLASH was The CW’s most watched show in its time period in more than seven years (GILMORE GIRLS series finale on 5/15/07) and highest rated in A18-49 in more than six years (90210 on 9/2/08). THE FLASH ties the network’s best ever rating in the time period in M18-34 (1.8/7, GILMORE GIRLS on 5/15/07).

5/15/07 is the first ever season for the CW, it was launched literally a month before that date. Considering DVR and Live + 3 day viewing figures are yet to come, Flash will end up setting an all-time record for CW viewership figures.

It's so great to see a comic book show, that features the superhero, embracing his name and powers and actually doing things.

The CW/producers are finally saying... ''Hey look, it's THE FLASH... a guy in a red costume who runs really really fast and fights bad guys. Join us for some fun''. :woot:

None of this ''I'm the Arrow... and my city has been tainted'' *grim mumbly grim stuff*

Flash was actually okay.

Glad to see strong numbers for Flash. Hope the series continues to do well.

I can like both though right?
