With The Flash being the highest rated CW premiere ever, how long before we get announcements of a Suicide Squad TV show and a Green Lantern TV show? Or even a female superhero in that same universe?

Can Green Lantern work on a TV Series budget though? Let alone on a CW Budget?

I mean SV had some pretty cringe-worthy costumes and effects under the CW's helm so I can't imagine GL being that better off.

No problemo z-man, this forum could use more posters like you.

And that's a great way to look at things, at the end of the day some people tend to forget that this is only a message board.

Again that's nice of you to say Chip. I find many people get really impulsive when it comes to replying, and so that's why you see so many arguments or battles between members on the Internet. And I think there is always another road to take.

Sure, it could. After all like The Flash, Green Lantern is heavily FX when it comes to the super-heroics.

GL is not comparable to FLASH for TV in the least, at least for it to be satisfactory to my eyes. From much more CGI (space flight, ring constructs, space ships) and more in the more mundane aspects (those alien worlds and the decks of those space shipse ect.) I can't see it working unless we Nerf it to hell.

Even on a Doctor Who budget, it would be tricky to pull off even if it is like the movie where parts of it are on Oa and other parts on Earth.

Agreed; heck if the GL-Like Cameo from "Smallville" was of any indication, then almost everything (sans the Earth scenes) would be extremely toned down when it comes to production value.

As much as I love the baby kitten Jim Lee ears that the Batfleck cowl has, I hope that later down the road (in Justice League for example) he gets a cowl more along the lines of that used in the Arkham games.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the cowl for BvS but it would be neat seeing different ones for each successive film.

Yes Gl can work on a Tv series Budget.Look at stuff like Battlestar Galactica/Defiance.

BUT defintely not on a CW budget

Even Galactica was not as expansive as a GL series would have to be, unless it were half assed as all get out. You would need to do GL like a GAME OF THRONES with that type of budget to be satisfactory. And... I don't see that happening anytime soon. Flash on TV is a whole other kettle of fish compared to GL.

Aliens, space travel, lasers, new weekly sci-fi concepts. This is the core of Green Lantern, and has been done over and over and over on TV for years.

What makes GL difficult however is the Lantern superpowers.Specifically Flight. Its freaking expensive to do flight on tv not to talk of Flight battles.

You most likely need a high budget like Defiance/Terranova/Gameof Thrones to do Justice to GL.

So Guardians surpassed Man of Steel in the Box Office... which means all four superhero films of the year did that.

I certainly don't think Box Office means quality, you don't have to go further than this summer to see that. But I do wonder if MoS could have done better if the film was better received. More importantly, what, if anything, this means for BvS. Will they try to change the formula a little or in WB eyes it's everything fine?

Umm... Yeah I hope to hell a GL series would not look as cheap as DEFIANCE. That is a horrid looking show (with some very good actors and some very great concepts but... No. It's production values are not in any way something to be envied.) And again, what you are proposing TAKES MONEY. As you pointed out the GL powers and the scope of the story that uses them are the problem but adding in the budget of all those alien planets, CGI or make up actors to play them, and on and on... This is not the usual SYFY show level budget. Lets remember that Galactica had Sets that were reused again and again. Unless you want to see GL fight the Manhunters and the Sinestro Corp. in the same abandoned gravel pit each season this requires lots of cash.
