EXCLUSIVE: 'Arrow' Is Plotting Another Suicide Squad Episode – and Your Favorites Are Back!

The Suicide Squad is coming back to Arrow, whether you’re ready for them or not.

ETonline has exclusively learned that Arrow will be reuniting members of Task Force X, also known as the Suicide Squad, in the 18th episode of the season in an hour appropriately titled “Suicidal Tendencies.”

A.R.G.U.S. head Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) returns in this episode, along with fan favorites Deadshot (Michael Rowe) and Cupid (Amy Gumenick), who is the newest member of the gang! Not everyone will be present however, with Bronze Tiger sitting this one out and Shrapnel six feet under (R.I.P.).

A brand-new character will also be introduced to the Arrow universe: the corrupt politician Senator Cray, to be played by Grey’s Anatomy and Bosch star Steven Culp.

In the John Ostrander run of the Suicide Squad comics, Joe Cray was a dirty senator who used Task Force X to advance his political standing. On Arrow, Senator Cray will be at the center of a rescue operation in the fictional Republic of Kasnia.

It’s been a while since we’ve last seen Floyd Lawton/Deadshot – since the bonkers season-two finale as a matter of fact – but we’re anticipating some heated encounters with Diggle. Plus, considering the ongoing romantic entanglements in Starling City, Carrie Cutter/Cupid’s return may just stir the pot. (Episode 18 also happens to be Mama Smoak's return.)

Considering how successful last season’s “Suicide Squad” episode was and the forthcoming DC blockbuster with an all-star ensemble led by Will Smith, we’re counting down the days ‘til this motley crew is back in action!

They mentioned Cupid being on the Squad in her first episode, regardless of anyone else's schedule, she's not replacing anyone.

I also don't think we'll get Boomerang on the Team. Wasn't there an article that said they had to switch up the Team, so it wouldn't be too similar to the Movie cast? I guess we're lucky we're still getting Deadshot.

What I'm more surprised about is how long they plan on us having to wait and see Ray suit up as Atom.

Based on the interviews, it seems that Brandon already knows what it'll at least look like and that they've been in the process of building the suit for him since late last year.

And yet, it doesn't seem like he'll suit up until at the very end, which I feel like could come off as a waste, especially for a suit that's so expensive to make apparently from the producer's words.

I know they did, and right from that episode I've been saying that they're likely using her as a Harley replacement.

I hope this means we'll see Captain Boomerang join up with the Rogues soon over on Flash. If they can't use him on Suicide Squad then I don't see why they wouldn't match him up against his comic book nemesis.

There's no way the SS is just going to be a two-person team, so I'm sure there are more character reveals to come.

I think that might be another reason for him not returning; not being able to find a good role for him in the group. I mean he was only there to be the extra muscle of the group, whereas everyone else had more of a better purpose to serve on the team.

I would be shocked if the wedding, let alone honeymoon, went smoothly for the two. I can't think of many couples that have gone on an entire season in happy bliss within this type of genre.

The ones that do are protected by the higher ups, namely it being the case where the show coming to a close during the time that the couple receive their happy bliss, or because they're canon characters from a larger mythology and can't be killed off.

Important question: Why on God's green earth is everyone STILL keeping the truth of Sara's death from Quentin? It's bordering on emotional manipulation. Quentin is a loved character. Deserves truth.
