anyone notice that Laurel is the only main character with no independent storyline......even Malcolm has one....

Yeah and they need to remedy that ASAP. While I doubt she will be killed off, it would make me even more pissed that they wasted her last season not giving her a storyline. Just as they didn't bother giving Roy any major screentime last season even though they knew it was Coltons last.

It's about the writers caring enough to do so though. As I said we'll see what happens. other then their battle with brick that was the only time the writers cared if at all any of the team arrow characters that weren't diggle, felicity or thea.

Roy Harper is the only main character from 1-3 that has zero FB....every other character has one. Now that just sucks! There is a lot of potential FB to explain more about him but with Colton gone it no longer going to happen. like his uncle as guardian and ancestor Vandal Savager are likely both will never be used. With no Roy around, I doubt we see a Chesire appearing. (She should have appear last year!)

I not sure why but I don't we have seem the full potential of Oliver archer skills. We have not seen Oliver shoot an arrow long distance from a building roof to a moving truck. It would be interesting scene to see which may require some specific effect to make it work

yea since he hasn't done freakish things with his archery skills. I don't need to see him hit a moving truck when he has already hit 10 bouncing tennis balls in 1.2 seconds. I think he's good.

It seems for me that Thea seems to have 2 paths in front of her at this point- she could remain on the good side and keep being Speedy (which I'm loving) or what seems to be hinted at is that she could one day give in to the blood lust and her relationship with Merlyn and become a full fledged villain one day. If she does become a villain, I wouldn't mind Thea becoming Cheshire and having a child with Roy

Also Roy being away and with everyone thinking he's dead, I'm guessing he's been a prime subject for Amanda Waller to recruit into Argus missions. I'm guessing the next time we see Roy he'll have been through his own sort of Island adventures, maybe as an Argus agent code named Arsenal

I miss the days where it was just Ollie, Diggle, and Felicity. This show has grown too much in such a short amount of time. Sometimes simpler is better. A show about Green Arrow that features 8 other heroes. They're doing too much

I agree with this. Arrow has suffered due to the people behind the shows desire to build a larger world and set up more shows.

Because he's the most boring character to have ever been on the show.

I think Roy had a great, but subtle arc throughout Seasons 1-3. In S1 he was, out-and-out, a jerk. A punk. Unlikeable. When he almost dies, and the Hood saves him, he decides that he owes the Hood his life and tries to find him to repay him. He even says "I feel like my life is tied to his, somehow."

In S2, he's still a jerk but the destruction of half the Glades combined with his relationship with Thea mellows him. Having mirakuru injected in him then hypes his temper 110%, though. Then he leaves, because he doesn't want to hurt anyone. But Slade captures him, and Roy goes into his mirakuru-induced rampage (that he doesn't even remember later). When he's finally cured, the reality of what the mirakuru had done to him set in, and mellowed him a lot more.

After months of training with Oliver, he slowly becomes perhaps the show's most calm, level-headed person, right alongside Diggle. In only two seasons, Roy went from an arrogant punk who attacked thugs to vent rage to a kind, friendly hero who gently chided Laurel for...attacking thugs to vent rage. Then, in a culmination of his arc, he sacrifices his life for the Arrow, fulfilling his words in S1.

Seriously, he's an understated character, but the arc that he was given was actually brilliant, if you look at it as a whole. Roy was a terrific character and, although under-used at times, was also one of the most consistently-written in terms of a long-running storyline. Just my 2 cents.

Roy is probably the only character on the show that I never cared about (although I thought his ending was good). I thought the characters writing and acting was bad.

To each his own. I didn't like him in S1 but I did in S2 and especially S3, and now looking back at the show as a whole I can say I really enjoyed how they handled him. I would always accept them bringing him back, though!

Agreed. And it really doesn’t make Olly seem all that special when the show basically has every friend he comes into contact with become a superhero on a whim. The worst is Lorel: “My sister is dead and now I’m mad! I’m going to take some boxing lessons. Look! I’m a super hero now!” I just can’t take her seriously. And that screech she does…hahaha, I just groan every time she does it and feel stupid FOR the actress. The actress is ok, but her character is easily the absolute worst thing on the show.

I couldn't disagree more. Whatever evolution he might or might not have gone through, he was still, at the end of the day, a boring, useless character who I would be happy to never see again.

I respect your opinion, and I certainly understand where you're coming from, but again, I have to disagree,

Malcolm would like a word with you. :o

Haha, I used to think Malcolm was, but then Lorel put on a mask.

It's Laurel. And at this point people complain about her so much that I honestly wonder whether it's legitimate complaining, or just bandwagon jumping. Same with Felicity. Complaints about her seem so common that it seems like people do it out of habit or just because others are doing it. Laurel and Felicity have both been much better (though not perfect) this season, so complaints are pretty moot now.

I actually don't have any complaints about Felicity. Laurel is a train wreck though.

You mean other than the "revive my sister" arc? It lasted about four episodes, which is nearly half the season so far.

Yeah. Laurel had "revive Sara," Thea has "bloodlust," and John has "my brother is alive." All the side characters have had their own little arcs at various points this season, which is great.

yes but it still connect to Sara. A independent storyline maybe something to do with day job like struggling to juggle both ADA and crime fighting

Since it's nearly Christmas, here's a look back at happier times for Malcolm Merlyn dancing a seasonal quickstep:

Having the same superhero motivation as her comic character and several other superheroes doesn't make her bad and Oliver isn't special and never was.

God bless you! God bless everyone!
