It just really shows their lack of confidence at the moment with the product. It's weird because 4 years ago, I would have said a show about the Green Arrow wouldn't be very good, and I'm sure many people were surprised by how good it was and how Oliver didn't seem like a Bruce Wayne or Batman copy cat. But then two years later, that's what the show ending up becoming. And now, they're so intent on keeping the loudest group of fans happy, but completely alienating everyone else.

Season 3 got better ratings than season 2, and so far season 4 is getting better ratings than season 3 (it's the only show on CW with better ratings than last year; everything else is down, most significantly so [the 100 is slightly up now, but it's falling fast because it has only aired a handful of episodes]).

Not that I like all the melodrama because I don't, but they're clearly not alienating a lot of people. The sad reality is that WE'RE the loud minority in this situation. You could argue that the Flash is the primary reason for the increases but it's still extremely rare for a show to grow in the ratings in consecutive years.

I think the producers feel like they can cater more to the audience that wants the Oliver/Felicity drama precisely because the show's fictional universe (or multiverse) has expanded to include The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Vixen, and Supergirl (plus the old Constantine and 90s Flash shows).

There is a lot of Arrow stuff Come on don't focus on the negative and Olicity stuff. There a lot of Arrow scoop from comic con. This is nothing but to trash the show\

Edit I hoping people not thinking every question asked if Felicity/Olicity related because that is just one account of the dozen question

Agreed. I don't like "Olicity" either, but it doesn't feature anywhere near enough on the show or in these panels or interviews to annoy me or wind me up anywhere near as much as it does some people on here. I would say that the people on here who supposedly hate "Olicity" probably speak about it more than "Olicity" shippers themselves actually do and might even be more boring than they are, as well as the whole "Olicity" thing itself. It's pretty weird if you ask me.

It is hard to disagree with that tbh.

If respecting canon means Killing off the Black Canary, and more Olicity, is best for the show, then i don't know the definition Stephen's of 'respecting the source' is.

Btw in the panel, all everyone did was ask Olicity questions, or in the interviews by these creepy Olicity fans.

Marc Guggenheim always goes around saying everything they do is 'organic', and they don't listen to tumblr. Well, Donna smoak was supposed to be a one-off character, but due to demand by these shippers, she's regular now. Lance/Donna is a thing now, thanks to the shippers.

This show belongs to the shippers now. It's an insult to call this even a DC comic show. It's more like Vampire diaries + with Little action.

Maybe I'm exaggerating, but the tiny hope i had for this show to get better is gone now.

I'm kinda glad Suicide Squad, Amanda Waller, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Katana, and Slade Wilson are off-limits to the show now. It's no longer a comic show, and more of a reason for me not to watch the show anymore.
I'd like to see Manu Bennett cast as Slade Wilson in the DC movie universe, though it's unlikely. Just imagining Manu, and Ben Affleck staring at each other brings me chills.

This show has "respected the source" plenty of times, both to Green Arrows lore and the wider DC world. You are just looking for the ways that it hasn't and using them as examples, when there are plenty of example of them "respecting the source" that are overlooked and ignored. Also, in your rambling, you may have overlooked the possible reason that Black canary may be killed off, and you have answered it yourself in your final paragraph. The higher ups at DC/WB may want her to be killed off because they plan to use her in a movie.

You say that people only asked "Olicity" questions. Given the way you exaggerate to make your point, I am not going to take that literally, but I doubt that was the case. And even if it was the case, good on them. Good on them for going out there and having fun. "Olicity" fans know more about having fun and enjoying themselves than the people who spends their time moaning about them on here it seems. That is kind of funny, but I doubt you will appreciate that. If what you say is true about there only being "Olicity" fans, then they deserve to have the writers "pander" to them, because they are clearly much more passionate than all the other fans. They dominate social media and these conventions, it seems.

Despite all of these problems that you are claiming that there are with this show, it has just been renewed for it 5th season, and despite all of the issues that you have, you are still here watching. They must be doing something right. This is the part where you say that after a certain episode or once this season is over, you will finish watching the show. I heard that one before.

Flash respects the canon. They don't follow it to the letter, but they remix it so as to not throw their core fans off. That's why it's a good show and lightyears ahead of Arrow in quality.

Arrow doesn't respect the canon. It's a complete bastardization. **** this garbage vampire twilight soap opera with ninjas.

That is fair enough, but that is just your opinion buddy. And if the show is as atrocious as you say it is, it is pretty crazy you still dedicate so much time watching it and posting about it online. The show wont change, and will continue without you. It will also continue to be successful without you. Just because you think it is very bad, doesn't mean the majority of people do. In fact, they clearly don't, hence why the show is successful and being renewed for its 5th season.

I liked a lot Arrow for 2 season.
I drop it at episode 10 from season 4 because I found it horrible and got no hope for the show to get better.
Still interested to read spoiler though.

There's still people who watch the show because they liked it before and not now but hope it will get better like before, it isn't crazy at all.

But yeah, it is still great for people who still love the show and the show will continue without me.

If it is as atrocious and bad as some people make it out to be, but continue to watch, despite seeing nothing positive about the show, then it definitely is crazy and silly for them to watch the show, as well as regularly post about it. They can easily wait until they start hearing good things about the show again, before they go back to watching it.

Actually, no it hasn't. Stop thinking your opinion as a fact. That's just your assumption, but i highly doubt that they would kill her off, because of a movie. You don't see them killing off Barry Allen, do you? DC Policies may be ridiculous, but it's not ridiculous to the extent, for instance lets say, there's a batman show, and they restricted nightwing.

And, I was exaggerating the fact, it not being a comic book show anymore. You're free to believe what you wish, but the evidence is right there on twitter or on youtube. Oh boy, if you can't handle people 'moaning' about the show, why even come here? People are free criticize what they want, and 'moan' all they want. I find it funny, that's its bothering you that much.

Uhh....I enjoyed Season 1, Season 2, Season 3 was weak, but i still enjoyed it. I'm not liking the current season. So tell me good sir, why would i drop the show, when i enjoyed the first 3 seasons, and not the current one? The only reason I'm sticking around is hoping for the show to get better, and get back to Season 2 Quality. If i don't like the direction of the show going in the next few episodes till end of season, It's simple, I'll drop it.

Exactly! Now people are complaining about the people complaining about the show! Obviously people are watching in hope for the show to get better.

I'm dropping Arrow after 4x19 if they kill of Laurel.
You aren't the only one. If you check the Arrow subreddit, it seems like 95% of people on there are planning on doing the same thing if they kill her off, me included.

It's not like I even trust the writers not to do something this stupid anymore.

im dropping arrow altogether after this season if felicity isnt axed and they dont go back to the gritty bad assness of season 1

and
weren't there set pics of Laurel and... welll everyone... at the funeral scene?

The only set pics Laurel was in were the ones with her dark brown hair standing with non-bald Lance, leading people to believe it's a flashback of Sara's original funeral to play against the new funeral. Everyone except Laurel was on set for the current-day one and the episode is supposedly called "Canary Cry".

:csad:

Actually, no it hasn't. Stop thinking your opinion as a fact.

When I said that this show has "respected the source" during the show, not all of the time of course and I never claimed that it always did, but it has done, well, that is a fact. Green Arrow has much less to work with than Flash does though, in terms of villains, stories etc that are good or that people actually like, so yeah, there is always that. It probably makes it more simple to understand why they are less accurate than the Flash is. They have less to work with and want to be successful, which they have been.

You don't see them killing off Barry Allen, do you? DC Policies may be ridiculous, but it's not ridiculous to the extent, for instance lets say, there's a batman show, and they restricted nightwing.
Barry Allen is the main character in his show, and as a result, the most important part a show that DC makes money from. Laurel's role on this show is much, much smaller. Given the other characters that had to be killed, or that were restricted, it would not be a surprise at all of she were to be because of a movie. Characters like Ra's al Ghul and Scarecrow were not allowed to be used in the show The Batman. If there are characters that are going to play a big part in a movie, they will restrict them. That is a fact. If they planned to use Nightwing in a movie, they probably would restrict him in a Batman show. If I am wrong about it being DC's decision (if she is killed that is), I will gladly admit it. I will be interested to know if you will.

And, I was exaggerating the fact, it not being a comic book show anymore..
I am glad that you admit it. It is common on the internet, unfortunately, and it doesn't help discussions at all.

You're free to believe what you wish, but the evidence is right there on twitter or on youtube...
Oh, I see. I forgot that Twitter and Youtube were the sources of intelligence and objectivity, and not knee-jerk emotional reactions. I should definitely go there when I need answers :cwink:. Also, wasn't social media one of the things that you were complaining about earlier?

Oh boy, if you can't handle people 'moaning' about the show, why even come here? People are free criticize what they want, and 'moan' all they want. I find it funny, that's its bothering you that much....
I can handle people moaning. Sure don't I love to have a bit of a moan about stuff from time to time myself. It doesn't mean that when you moan that you will not be called out on it, when some of the criticisms seem to be over the top or to be exaggerated.

So tell me good sir, why would i drop the show, when i enjoyed the first 3 seasons, and not the current one? The only reason I'm sticking around is hoping for the show to get better, and get back to Season 2 Quality....
Well, since you asked and were also kind enough to call me "good sir", personally, I believe that seeing as you think so little of the show and see absolutely nothing good about it (which is how it seems to me, going by your posts, as there are only criticisms there and no mentions of anything that you seem to like or enjoy), it would probably be for the best if you dropped the show. It seems to make you angry too, resulting in you using words like "******" to describe "Olicity" fans, which is pretty sad and pathetic on your part, if you don't mind me saying.

TV shows are supposed to be about enjoyment, especially silly ones about superheroes like this one, and if you are not enjoying any bit of it ,and are getting so angry from watching it that it results in you calling a section of the shows fans "******s", then it is probably for the best.

If i don't like the direction of the show going in the next few episodes till end of season, It's simple, I'll drop it....
I always find it funny and silly when people feel the need to broadcast that they will stop watching a show. I stopped watching Gotham ages ago, but I didn't feel the need to make a big song and dance about it. When I stop watching, I simply do it and move on.

He's not 'broadcasting' that he's going to stop watching the show, he's responding to your posts since you're the one who keeps telling him to stop watching it.

Quite regularly, he posts that he is going to stop watching the show (sometimes with a few insults and referring to fans as "******s" in there too), not just there. It was more of a reference to all of that, rather than just that one instance.

There was everything good with the show, before it was lost. The characters, drama, dark tone, story. If you're interested about what i did enjoy from the show, which was lost, it's this, 'Slade, Suicide Squad, Deadshot, Amanda Waller, Engaging flashbacks, League of assassins, Roy, Sara, Katana, ra's al ghul, dark/gritty tone, Dark Oliver''

What i currently enjoy from the show?
' Oliver, Nyssa, Black Canary, Malcolm Merlyn as Villain'

Oh, maybe because they are actually ******s? Hmm, begging 'uncle guggie' for more OTA and bed scenes, more olicity scenes. Photoshopping EBR's face on stephen's pictures with his wife, sending threats to Katie...well i could go on. So, if you think it's pathetic, i call them ******s, that's fine by me.

I think it's a good idea, and people 'make a big song about it', so if a writer/or arrow producers ever came across this forum, they would know they are losing their fanbase.

Oh boy, you're really making me the bad guy here. :funny:
I do heavily criticize the show, but i don't see when did i previously said I'm leaving the show? I might have said it one time, but i said it regularly after the rumor broke out they are killing Laurel.

I'm starting to think you have a problem with me.

You're not pathetic. You're being honest.

Well, as bad as the "Oliicty" shippers may be, at least they can take solace that they never dropped low enough to call people "******s" over a TV show, or at least none that I have come across. As bad as they may be, they never stooped to your level.

I am not sure they are. A poster earlier said that the ratings have gone up. For what it is worth, I thought season 1 and 2 were much better also. It doesn't mean that I feel that people should exaggerate about certain things, or that there is anything worth calling people "******s" over.

Because sending death threats to KC and Photoshopping EBR's head on Amell's family pictures isn't worse.

Get a grip on reality homeboy. :sly:

Yeah those innocent Olicity fans never stoop to my level. Calling people ******s for doing idiotic things is worse than sending threats/bullying, and telling writers to drink bleach! What a horrible person i am.

I should be punished.

CW released some ratings thing few days ago, 1st place is Flash, second Legends, and 3rd Arrow.

While I would still not agree with the usage of the word "******", he wasn't necessarily referring to just the more malicious portion, but rather all of them. I assume you know that it is not the wisest to judge a fanbase or any group by the loud, trouble-making minority that gives the majority a bad name. Anyone that does, is in a greater need of a grip on reality than I am, and that is saying something. I have been off this stuff you call reality for a long, long time. I don't go near the stuff these days.

It is not wise to judge an entire fanbase or group of people by the loud, trouble-making minority, that give the majority of people a bad name. It is somewhat like the way there are people who say that feminism is about hating men because some loud feminists do, when that is not what feminism is about and the majority of feminists do not hate men, but just want equality.

You said Arrow is losing fans, I said that according to someone else, they are gaining viewers and that I do not think what you are saying is true. Where Arrow ranks in terms of viewership is not pertinent.
