Word on the street those silly Oliciters were attacking Ben Percy on twitter because he isn't making Felicity a part of Green Arrow Rebirth. These mutha****as won't stop until they change the canon.

Yeah they were mad he wasn't putting Felicity in the comics.

They were also really mad Katie was a the wrap party.

I hope she does show up everywhere just to ruin that persons day.

Lawd. Liking tweets supporting her isn't the same as putting down the show. She's been supportive of the decision to get killed off and has said not to give the writers a hard time which makes it funny when people can't separate character from actor.

I read elsewhere that they were screaming about KC dancing with SA at the wrap party. There were supposed to be 30+ tweets deleted. So have you realized I was right about them being lunatics yet?

Katie could cure cancer and they would find a way to make that seem like bad thing.

Yep, if KC cured cancer that'd just be one more spiteful thing she was doing to ruin their lives

The Olicity Shippers remind me of the Chlois Fans that Smallville had back in the day. For those that aren't familiar with what I'm talking about, basically, there were a group of Chloe fans that believed (without a shadow of a doubt) that Chloe would end up becoming the "Iconic Lois Lane" due to her early love for journalism and how she had used her "cousin's" real name to ghost write a story back in Season 3. They would bash anything and anyone that wasn't Chloe related and would say very terrible stuff about Erica Durance (Lois Lane).

Though thankfully for Smallville, the producers didn't give a rat's ass on what they thought....unlike Arrow's producers.

Ehhh, I wouldn't go that far. I've mentioned on many occasions how crazy some Chloe fans got and how the Olicity shippers seem to be approaching that point, but while they never messed with Superman canon, in regards to Chloe, Al Gough and Miles Miller definitely weren't in a rush to set him up with Lois. They loved Lana/Kristin Kreuk, and that's why they heavily featured her in some weird arcs.

But then Brian and Kelly took over, and while they finally pulled the trigger on a Clois ship, they were also huge fans of Chloe and definitely fed into those fans, which was a big reason why she got lead status until she left the show in season 10. At that point, Lois was the female lead because they just didn't have anyone else to fill that role, aside from Tess, who was only on the show for a couple of seasons at that point.

Hey guys, careful with the uncensored cursing.

Yea those tweets are going to get you infractions...

The tweets that I posted were certainly weird. I don't like generalising groups (fan groups in this case) because of the loud minority. I doubt they are all that bad. When I go on twitter to look at tweets about Arrow, I see lots of different fan groups, other than just fans of Oliver and Felicity's relationship, and sometimes people who are just fans of the show in general, and they all say stuff that I consider to be weird, or in other cases outright nasty. It is not something exclusive to just "Olicity" fans.

I would not be surprised if their loud minority was worse than other fan groups loud minority though. They get what they want more than other fan groups, so they are probably more cocky, and they are larger than other fan groups, so there is a greater chance of their loud minority having more idiots than other fan groups.

It is kind of similar to some sports, where the fans of the team that wins the most and that is the most popular at the time are considered the worst or amongst the worst by many other fan groups. The loud minority of that fan group might be worse than other teams fans because there are more of them, and they get what they want (trophies) more than any other fan groups, so they are more cocky and arrogant. It doesn't necessarily reflect on the whole fan base though.

I am a fan of Arrow, but other Arrow fans behaviour does not reflect on me at all. I am a big fan of Laurel, but the behaviour of her fans on twitter does not reflect on me at all either.

Also, you should edit out the last tweet in my post as it has bad language in it and you might get in trouble for quoting it (I already deleted it in my post).

Okay, so just to play devil's advocate: it's entirely possible that some people do want that. Let me explain. When I first heard about Arrow, I barely knew anything about any of the characters. I knew Oliver Queen was the Green Arrow and who "Black Canary" was, but I didn't know her real name. So when I went through S1, I knew Black Canary was in it but I didn't know her secret identity (except I knew it wasn't Felicity, because the first clip I saw had both Felicity and–unknown to me–Sara in it, but I didn't know Sara's real identity). So as I watched, I kept expecting Black Canary show up and I she was blonde and so I didn't think she was Laurel. Then I read a description about the episode with Oliver's girlfriend McKenna and I thought "oh, maybe this is Black Canary" but she showed up and wasn't blonde either. When S2 came around and revealed it was Sara I just assumed that Sara Lance was always Black Canary. Didn't realize until months later that in the comics, Black Canary was Laurel. So for a person who isn't into the comics but just enjoys the show, I can see them not caring about who the Black Canary is, so long as she's present.

Now of course, knowing now, I cared that it was Laurel, as it should've been, and I was upset that they killed her off. However, if I'd remained a casual fan, clueless as to her identity in the comics, I probably wouldn't have cared as much that they would replace her. Would I, as a casual fan, have been sad at Laurel's death? Yeah, for sure. But I would've also been okay with them just bringing in a new Black Canary, too. (BTW, back when I was still a casual, I also really enjoyed the idea of Olicity, but this was during S1 and S2, before they showed why it's a bad idea.) So I would say that, for the majority of casual fans, they probably will be okay with a new Black Canary (unless they're Olicity shippers, in which case they could feel threatened, even if unnecessarily, by yet another woman in Oliver Queen's life besides Precious Felicity).

these "causal" fans who don't have 10 seconds to wiki who a character is, blow my mind. I don't accept that it should be ok to just mess with a character because "people know Canary is supposed to be in it, they don't know who she is, they don't care". That's absurd ignorance.

That's like saying "People knew the flash was supposed to be in the flash. They didn't care if it was barry allen or wally west or bart allen. Lets just kill off Barry, bring in a random we've never met as bart, and throw in him barry's costume. Nobody will care or notice."

Whenever I see an interview with Guggenheim these days, he always seems to be making some sort of excuse for something.

Wasn't Season 4 already supposed to be better?

Yeah. They knew people weren't happy with season 3 and said not to worry, they heard what we didn't like about that season and will not be doing it in season 4. Yet here we are and it's WORSE than 3.

Flashbacks aren't the problem. The problem is swapping genres on the fanbase in the middle of season 3. Your show hasn't recovered from it.

But yeah whatever, "Season 5 is going to be better than 3 & 4, foreal this time! We promise! Please keep watching... :("

Fool me once Guggenhack.

Oh now I hope he does introduce her only to be butchered by Slade, the number of things they can do to Felicity in the comics is infinite. He will also write Teen Titans, I hope he uses her there and has Damian Wayne insult her again and again till she retires from superheroing altogether. Please Ben make some of this happen.

Damian roasts Failicity

"What are you nagging about now, you pretentious cow?"

"I hacked your servers. Your firewalls were amateurish at best. Was it your knowledge of computer software or sexual exploitation that got you to the top of Queen Consolidated? I miss spoke, I'm assuming you were the one on the bottom."

'What are you even doing here you insufferable hag? Isn't there an elderly person somewhere waiting for you to fix their laptop?"

I hope that the numbers drop in the remaining episodes. People are saying that they will finish the season before dropping it, but that wont do much good. If the numbers stay the same, they will think everything is ok and continue on into season 5 as normal. If the numbers drop, they will hopefully spend the summer thinking about how to make the show better, and they will have more time to do it, make changes and come up with new ideas.

I agree if you're going to stop, you should do it cold turkey–now. That'll make them see the ratings drop. Me, I'm going to continue, because I'm invested in the story and characters, but if you're going to drop, do it soon, not next season.
