"Stephen Amell Teaser Third Version Of Oliver, Possibly Flashpoint"
http://heroichollywood.com/stephen-amell-teaser-third-version-oliver-possibly-flashpoint/

OR ... you could remember what you wrote on your own articles, and notice that the episode in question is when human target, the bodyguard who disguises himself as his client (who in this case is oliver), appears ...

I honestly dont get why everyone (even screenrant !!!) are saying that is prometheus ... its not an original character either

its bloddy ragman

It' Prometheus. MG confirmed it. Ragman appears in another segment of the S5 trailer and has a different, more comic-accurate costume (biggest change is he has a patchy trenchcoat instead of a patchy cape).

If only MG hadn't wasted and butchered the likes of Brick and Count Veritgo. They would have been perfect villains for this season as its main villains.

I mean, they are both still around. They've obviously not going to be full-season villains, but either of them could appear at basically any point. It would be a waste not to see them again. Especially since this Tobias Church guy is apparently going to take over Darhk's power base, which included Brick (though I believe he's in jail again).

Well even though they still exist, it's such piss poor interpretations of them that's also the issue. Brick is a white non-metahuman here while the Count is a simple drug dealer with a Russian ascent.

Brick's and Vertigo's depictions in Arrow are both in-line with the show's tradition of "normalizing" characters that continued up until the Lazarus Pits were introduced and magic became mainstream for the show. When these two were introduced, to see a metahuman was extremely rare outside of Flash crossovers, and magic hadn't been introduced yet. So making them normal isn't the issue. The weakness of their depictions is. Brick started out great (he even apparently took a headshot from Diggle and survived), but in S4 he was little more than a henchman. And the first Count was definitely more enjoyable than the S3 one, IMO.

Which is pretty much my original point; that these two Green Arrow villains were introduced at the wrong time.

If Michael Jai White hadn't portrayed a villain in "Arrow" already, he would have been perfect for someone like Brick (who has always been portrayed as Black in the comics as far as I'm aware of). He could have just been given super strength and durability, similar to the Mirakuru villains and that wouldn't have betrayed the unique aspect of "The Flash" having most of the metahuman villains.

Plus, what's not normal about Count Vertigo being portrayed as a international dictator/sovereign ruler of his own country like he is in the comics? It would have made for a good struggle to see on how Oliver and company would beat Count Vertigo if he was protected by Diplomatic Immunity and behind his own nation.

And then there's the "Outsiders" that they could have used rather than using a character like Damien Dark (who's really only in character by name, rather than the actual character from the comics)

Ehh. . . part of the problem is "So, why is this third world dictator screwing around with Ollie's life in Star City?" Unless you want to turn Green Arrow into an international globetrotting hero, it doesn't really work in a "actually gets into a fight" sense. Werner Vertigo has an entire nation of people and resources at his beck and call- why is he personally doing *anything* over in the US?

Plus, the inevitable "diplomatic immunity" plot would be painfully stupid.

The Count part of Vertigo's comic identity wouldn't have been hard, IMO; his powers are another story. I guess the idea of him using drugs rather than having actual vertigo powers was their inventive way of using his trademark. I honestly do think they could have found a way to keep his background as nobility, though. But it doesn't bug me that they didn't too much.

I don't know if it is based out of some comic history but Count Vertigo's ability was very well done in Young Justice where it was a worn device that generated the vertigo feeling.

I disagree. The powers are the easy part, and a logical counterpoint to Ollie ( precision marksman vs someone who wrecks accuracy ). Its the Count part that's the trouble, because of everything I said above.

If you really wanted to use him as country ruler, it should have been done during the flashbacks, since you could just send Ollie to whatever country you need.

I imagine this will make a lot of people happy.

No Olicity Reunion On Arrow In Near Future

After two years of Oliver and Felicity's relationship being a major plot driver on The CW's Arrow, showrunner Wendy Mericle told TVLine recently that Season Five will downplay that aspect of the series.

The reason isn't any conflict between the characters or even a storytelling reason like putting off the assumed "endgame" of the pair ending up together. Instead, it's the nuts and bolts of Team Arrow at this moment in time that's standing in the way of a reunion.

“They’re both in crisis mode. Oliver’s got two really big jobs, and [Felicity] is spinning out about Havenrock,” Mericle said. “Until they’ve gotten some clarity for themselves, there’s not much room for the relationship side of things.”

It just means we have to deal with more angst for a longer period of time.

Plus, not even sure how much I believe her. Last season they said Olicity's relationship would be shown through in "subtle" ways. If S4 was MG and WM's idea of subtle...

Started to re-watch season 1 and I miss that Oliver/Arrow. I honestly think he worked better solo too. I think Roy, Dig and eventually Laurel should have joined him only occasionally.

Season 1 was pretty much an entirely different show from what it is now, action focused, Oliver generally handled things on his own, stronger season narrative, supporting characters generally didn't take priority over the season's actual plot unless it directly involved them.

I really liked Roy and Diggle.
Everybody else is just too much.

You know, they really could have hooked her up with somebody else if they were going to stick with Olicity. Cisco and even Constantine come to mind. Laurel's death just really showed a lack of imagination on the Arrow writers part.

I have a hard time seeing Laurel with either of them. She really should have been paired with Nyssa, but failing that, maybe Ray Palmer or Ted Grant.

Isn't that the opposite of what everyone says? Then again, you don't like Ledgers Joker and like Leto's.

What in the DCEU has received mainly praise like Manu's Slade? Not many characters, that is for sure. Adams, Irons, Margot and Will are some of the few that have not received much criticism and have received praise. Not much else.
"Everyone?"

Affleck's Batman has received a ton of praise. People loved Gadot's Wonder Woman as well. And that's just to start.
