I don't understand the dislike of Westallen. I love them.

You are always going to get people that want their own ships and get upset by other ships. There are people that don't like Karamel. While the SuperCorp people freaked out when Jeremy Jordan said Kara and Lena are just friends.

Personally I find ships largely inconsequential.

I understand that they're going to put people together in an effort of playing up drama, and as long as it doesn't become the central focus of the show, it doesn't bother me one way or the other.

For example, I didn't mind Mon-El and Kara, or Jimmy and Kara, or whatever.

I didn't mind Barry and Patty, or Barry and Iris. (though I do think people hate on Iris irrationally)

All that said. Eff Olicity. It was everything wrong with the series. I didn't mind Oliver-Laurel or Oliver-Sara or even Oliver-Susan from the last season. Though I never really "shipped" any of them. But MAN. If I could go back to a world where I didn't sit through a third of a season being wasted by Donna Smoak or and of that nonsense, I would be happier.

Felicity Smoak is the definition of a Mary Sue. The least balanced character on any show.

She's like if Chloe from Smallville had successfully gotten together with Clark. Or if Xander had married Buffy. The underdog is only the underdog until they win.

Iris basically is Chloe, minus the intelligence and compassion. Westallen is worst than any ship up there. It's not irrational hate, Iris continues to do nothing and never gets developed. How do you defend that? I've yet to see a reason why she needs to stay alive as with Felicity. They wrote Patty off and even she was more productive.

well if some can dislike olicity some of us can dislike wa.

Makes no sense for people to dislike Olicity when similar negative themes are drawn into Westallen. They both control and ruin the shows. They serve no purpose but fan service and fear of the show runners receiving death threats from shippers.

*cough* The issues with Westallen and Karamel are entirely different. The former has issues with being framed in a sibling manner, which the show did entirely too well in season 1. The latter has the problem of various bad writing around Mon-El, and dubious aspects vis a vis Kara's portrayal.

I think the problem for the the people that have a problem with Mon-El is they don't want Supergirl to be in a relationship with a man. Especially a self assured, confident, outspoken man like Mon-El.
James and Winn got the some of the same back lash in the first season. I think a lot of the people that hate Mon-El want Supergirl to be gay. The SuperCorp shippers went ballistic when Jeremy Jordan
jokingly sang at SDCC that Kara and Lena are just friends.

Mon-El isn't "self-assured and confident", he's an arrogant *****e-bro, and has barely evolved from such. He's also the prince of a rather horrible society, which the narrative went out of its way to make Kara look unreasonable for objecting to. Hint hint: If your going to do a "biased against the other guy's society" subplot, try not to have the other guy's society involve actual slavery.

Supercorp shippers have no depth to their name. The Karamel ship just seems rushed and forced. Mon-El could have been a great ally to Kara, they didn't have to make him a love interest. If it had evolved, OK, but it just seems like the show chose to plant Mon-El as eye candy for Kara.

I will never understand the Supercorp ship, Kara is not gay and they won't make her gay to appease these crazy shippers.

Its not about "making Kara gay", its that so far, the *only* person Kara has any chemistry with is Lena. I'm not thrilled at making all the women lesbians either, but so far the alternatives have been Jimmy the Future Supervillain, and Mon-El the Former Supervillain, essentially: characters with dire character issues, who lack chemistry with Kara anyway. If your going to support a ship, it should at least be one that adds to the plot, rather than subtracts from it. . . and more Jimmy and more Mon-El have definitely subtracted from the plot.

Y'all know there's a Supergirl forum, right? :oldrazz:

Anyway, I honestly think Kara and Mon-El have great chemistry, but that's beside the point. This is an Arrow forum, there's a Supergirl one right down the list, but if we're going to complain about ships, can we at least complain about this show's ships and not another's?

Really expected nu-Dinah to end up in some ship last season.

His intensity seems like a good match for Arrow. Now can we get Anna Torv too?

Looking forward to new Black Canary vs Black Siren.

If Katana and Huntress return, I wonder if we'll get a full Birds of Prey with they and the new Black Canary.

I hope Huntress returns just for the hell of it. Katana too.

They could make a team up of Huntress, Black Siren with an evil computer hacker. This version of Huntress many ppl think can't not be redeemed (I think she does, but a lot think not), so having the Evil Birds of Prey could be fun
