What I love most about this season is that it's based on a personal conflict. And not another countdown to save Star City from impending doom. It's been a refreshing aspect in taking the series back to it's roots.

They are totally setting up Oliver's son to be the villain for whenever the last season of arrow is. Or perhaps he is trained to hate his father and eventually kills Him, but turns into the new green arrow. There is NO WAY he gets rescued this season. It will probably end in a cliffhanger involving his son. Maybe talia escapes with him.

I really hope they don't kill deathstroke in the finale. It would be a HUGE mistake. His character can still offer a lot to the show.

This has been a great season. Maybe 2-3 episodes weren't good, but a damn great season. This could easily been the second best season if they started leading up to the finale a little sooner. I'm sure this will be an awesome finale but I hope the writers don't write characters or the series into a corner by killing off the wrong people.

Malcom was great today. It will be sad to see him go but a perfect ending for him to die a hero. His time has come finally. Again, hopefully deathstroke doesn't die. I don't expect them to make him a regular but they can still do stufff with him like suicide squad stuff etc.

With the flashback adventures wrapping up, I'm thinking about going back and watching the whole thing in chronological order. That might be easier with the DVDs.

Like they did with the Godfather flashbacks. Came out with a version that goes in chronological order.

It's a step up, but it still have issues with this season.

Feels like most of the season has been marking time to the finale's big everybody-vs-everybody throwdown.

He really nailed those flywheels. That's when I was like, "Okay, wow. That's a serious athlete right there."

It may be obvious, but it occurred to me this week that pretty much all of Oliver's worst enemies around the world know he's the Green Arrow by now, so maybe he should just go public with his identity, since there's not much point. (You could probably say the same about Supergirl or Flash, but this show has been around longer.)

Oliver exposing his identity would also pretty much expose Spartan, Wild Dog. Overwatch, Arsenal, Speedy, Black Canary, Ragman, Mr Terrific, etc.

Binge watching season 5 right now, since I can't do week to week with the series anymore. The 1st 3 seasons were fun I liked Slade being around. After that the show has been a struggle for me. This season is slightly better than the past two. The flashbacks are better but I still don't see the point of them. They just have less impact for me.

I do think [BLACKOUT]Chase[/BLACKOUT] is up there with Slade though it was predictable. I also felt it was predictable what Oliver had to say in the torture scene.

A the end of the season 1, we got a shot of the city damaged by the earthquake machine, basically saying that Oliver failed the city. It would be cool to get a shot of the city looking great at the end of the episode, to show how far the city and Oliver have come, or perhaps that is being saved for the final episode of the series.

Eh, better to do it in a more "glass half-full" manner, with some facetiousness. The city is not "saved", and its not great looking. But people do point out that, hey, first time in four years that there wasn't a mass casualty terror attack with WMDs. That actually is progress of a kind, and so the city is getting better.

And Mayor Queen gets phenomenal approval ratings, for the first mayor in years to survive a year in office. At which point, he could unmask himself in public, and the crowd would just cheer. ;)

He can't go public. He's the Mayor, and has a history of murdering people.
General public wont just look the other way.

Chase has been one of my favorite villains in a while on any tv show. The actor showed charisma and his voice was great, especially when he was cocky. They made him out to be a psychic though predicting team Arrow every move. Despite that he was awesome and I will miss him.

Is it me, or does Chase's actor look kind of like a budget Christian Bale?

Deathstroke really stole the show. Manu is great. Would be awesome to see him in LoT or something as a main cast member. Maybe if they make a SS series. They may have written his character into a corner though giving him what seems to be his redemption arc.

The MTv show Shannara Chronicles he was on was picked up by another network. Not sure he will be able to be a main on two different shows. The show also films in New Zealand so him being from New Zealand probably makes it a great gig for him.

As long as he isn't confirmed to be dead, then I'm okay with Slade not being used as a main character again.

Though I kind of wish that he would have been used to be one of the members for the "Legion of Doom" in Legends of Tomorrow, especially over the likes of Damien Dark. Seeing him in his costume fighting with Reverse Flash and Dark Archer would have been a visual treat.

William? What are you basing this on? I have seen no indications of Oliver's son being set up to be a villain.

Alright, after Season 3 and Season 4, what's the final verdict on Season 5 of Arrow? Is it worth watching again? I didn't want to get invested, and basically skipped the whole Season, with the exception of the Dinah Drake and the Crossover Episode.
