Everytime I see her name I read "Caity Lolz" instead of Lotz lol

In the comics, Green Arrow taught Roy Harper the archery and Black Canary taught him how to fight. I hope this happens in Arrow this season.

That would be cool. Supposedly, Thea is also a capable archer (there was a trophy in her room during one episode in Season 1 and there was her wicked aim comment in the finale). She could also teach Roy some archery.

Ollie in this show can fight pretty well so unless they say she fights better than him Ollie can teach him to fight (like he does with Diggle) and archery.

I do wonder what BC's combat abilities will be. That brief scene with her shows that she's got skills, but how much remains to be seen. In the comics, she's without a doubt a much better fighter than Oliver. Batman has even admitted that if they straight up fought for real that she could kick his ass pretty easily. Bronze Tiger, Lady Shiva, and Cassandra Cain. and maybe Deathstroke are pretty much the only character who can conceivably beat her. Will that be the case here as well, we shall see?

Because they work a whole lot better for a street-level vigilante who gets into close quarters fights than damn fishnets. Also, they don't look stupid. Zatanna can have fishnets, that doesn't bother me.

Agree, her Smallville costume was one of the few they got right. I'd even like the actress back, who is really beautiful

With all the talks about "Olicity" shipping I've been seeing in other forums, I wonder if the series creators has any "comic book continuity" plans for Felicity Smoak other than being Oliver's JARVIS/IT sidekick, like, meeting Firestorm's father in the future.

I never saw that before, and you can't see BC's costume that clearly in the dark in live action, but on the concept art I do like that there is a subtle nod to the fishnets with that criss-cross design on her legs.

Maybe she wears actual fishnets under her pants, and somehow she loses the bottom half of her costume in a fight leaving her with a more classic costume for one scene.

The problem most people have to except is that the whole darn concept of Superheroes is NOT realistic to begin with.I have absolutely no problem with a "heightened reality",and that's what Marvel has done right (at least so far).

There's no questioning why a character wears what they wear.Sure it gets updated to an extent,but not any extensive changes made.

Now DC has it stuck in their craw that the "Nolan method" is the only way to adapt heroes in live action and many people have bought into it.

There actually is a fair ground between having something be plausible,yet overtly fantastic,without descending into "Batman & Robin territory.

Just like Hawkeye wore purple, had a mask and wore buccaneer boots in the Avengers, right? Not to mention the modification to Captain America' uniform and did Thor even bother to wear his damn helmet?

But yeah it's all the "Nolan method's" fault.

I quite liked her as Zatanna. She had the look and her acting was good. I've seen this actress in other things and liked her in those as well. Fishnets work for someone like Zatanna because she's primarily a magic user who very rarely engages in close-quarters combat. Black Canary gets into brawls quite frequently, so it doesn't work for her.

It worked because Smallville's setting is much more fantastical than Arrow's. Moreover, it's clear from Zatanna's overall appearance that she's an entertainer (specifically: a magician); hence explaining WHY she would be wearing fishnets in the first place. And that's the thing - if a character is wearing something as unusual as fishnets, there needs to be a reason for it in-universe.

They need to make Dinah Laurel Lance transition into the Black Canary convincingly.

Since Sarah Lance is the first Black Canary in this series, it's in line with the original Dinah Drake Lance Black Canary from the comics where she didn't have the Canary Cry. I wonder how Dinah Laurel is going to have the Canary Cry since it's part of her character in the comics.

Bleh Katie Cassidy sucks, I'd rather Laurel just die and Caity can replace her. Katie Cassidy is not a good actress...

At this point I'm not sure anyone really cares about Katie Cassidy becoming the true Black Canary. Anything would be better than her. She can stay a lawyer for all I care. All she has is the Dinah name which is her middle name. Nothing else about her is remotely like BC. I would rather have a BC named Sara Lance even if she isn't named Dinah than have Katie Cassidy in the role.

And I don't even buy that Katie Cassidy could act better if she wanted to. She's got the drama queen down in Arrow, and the evil b**ch in Supernatural. Two qualities I'm not looking for in Black Canary. And the writers have done absolutely nothing that would make us care about her. If they still want her to take over the Mantel of Black Canary, they will have to do a hell of a job to convince us.
