Curious to see what Amanda Waller looks like.

They're clearly going for the current Waller. I think she's a good fit.

Yeah, that actress fits New 52 Waller really well, at least visually.

Too bad the emp arrow has to be triggered by remote. I'm sure they're beta testing newer versions.

These are old, but I have seen them for the first time. :funny:

You know, once they introduce a fully powered Flash, are they going to like introduce super villains as well because if Flash is the only one with powers for the time being, then he could pretty much take on a lot of Oliver's foes without much problem.

It depends. From my understanding it's just 3 episodes with the guy who is going to be Flash in the new Flash series, which will be a superpowered series. Doesn't mean that his actual Flash origins will be in Arrow. I would assume they'd show his origins in his own show.

Setting it in the same universe does kinda seem that they are going to go the super power route though. As long as they start off really slowly with it I can see it happening. I like Arrow as it is though. Personally I'd rather they kept the whole Flash thing seperate.

Also on another topic, watching these past 2 episodes puts KC's villainous pose at the back of the Arrow poster in a much different light. They pushed her back because she's kinda the baddie right now, not because they were planning on firing her. And they pushed Felicity forward because whether they intended it or not, she's the leading lady of Arrow.

Michael Jai White and Kelly Hu were both awesome in the episode. The again, Michael Jai White and Kelly Hu are ALWAYS awesome. He played Spawn and she's played Lady Deathstrike, Cheshire, AND Karai, that's just cool.

Yeah, that's a smart idea Waller, trust Commissioner Gordon's sociopathic son. That won't come back to haunt you at all.

So I saw last night's episode. I really liked it a lot, probably one of my favorite episodes so far. However, there are 2 problems that I have with it:

1) Laurel - Her entire reason as to why he wants to catch the vigilante is stupid and forced. Heck, it is even out of character IMO. First of all, he had a "pointless" duel with Malcolm Merlyn instead of saving Tommy? She is giving him crap for going after the mastermind behind the plot - the guy who caused the earthquake that killed Tommy in the first place - instead of going after a guy that, as far as she knows, has no connections to him whatsoever. Then there is the fact that she claims that he left Tommy to die. Hey Laurel, here's an idea. Did you ever consider the possibility that Tommy was already dead by the time he got there and he couldn't do much? All pointless forced drama just to have someone in the show be the vigilante "hater" that tries to bring him to justice, since Quentin Lance is ok with him now. What's worse is that this also dumbs down Oliver in the process. He could have ended all that drama right then and there in the last episode simply by saying "Your friend was already dead when I got there. I'm sorry." Taadaa! At this point in the show, Laurel serves no purpose. Say what you want about her last season but at least she was important to the main plot there (in terms of fighting against the same people as the vigilante both together and separately, not in terms of the drama).

2) Sebastian Blood - I really liked this guy and everything they did with him. What I don't like is the direction I fear they are taking him in. They said in an interview that he would be an ally to Oliver throughout the season. We also know that he will become Brother Blood at some point. We also know this show tends to copy the Nolan Batman films a lot. Get where I am going? I really have a feeling that he'll be the Harvey Dent of the show. Just as the vigilante's reputation gets better and starts to be seen as a hero, Blood will become a villain. Then in order for the people of the Glades to not lose hope, the vigilante will give up all the reputation he's built throughout Season 2 to keep Blood's image alive. Heck, they even kinda set that up in this episode when Oliver says to China White "It doesn't matter what the world thinks of me as long as the city is safe." I really don't want them to go there but I'm expecting them to.

An ally to Oliver or to Arrow? The latter seems more likely.

Quentin's motivation for wanting to arrest Arrow in season 1 actually made sense. He's a cop and Arrow was a mass-murdering vigilante, perfectly reasonable. Laurel's reasoning is just stupid. Another thing, maybe if she wasn't being an idiot and gathering case files while the damn building was collapsing all around her due to the massive earthquake after all of her coworkers had done the smart thing and gotten the heck out of there, Tommy wouldn't have had to run into said collapsing building to save her dumb ass.

Press release for 2x05:
ARROW
“League of Assassins” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

THE CANARY SINGS — While Oliver (Stephen Amell) tends to the Canary’s (Caity Lotz) wounds, he tries to get her to talk about where she came from but she refuses. However, after Oliver and the Canary are attacked at the Queen mansion by a trained killer from the League of Assassins, she confesses to how she’s connected with the nefarious group. Meanwhile with Moira (Susanna Thompson) facing multiple counts of murder and conspiracy for her part in the destruction of The Glades, the Assistant District Attorney (guest star Dylan Bruce) offers her a choice – plead guilty now and avoid the death penalty or take your chances in court. Thea (Willa Holland) begs her mother to fight for her life but Moira seems resolute about taking the offer. Meanwhile, Oliver is furious with Laurel (Katie Cassidy) for joining the prosecution’s team on his mother’s case. Wendey Stanzler directed the episode written by Jake Coburn & Drew Z. Greenberg (#205).

I thought Canary would have been involved with the League of Assassins.
And what the hell Laurel.

It's more like what are the writers thinking. I would not be surprised to see Laurel quit her job or have a nervous breakdown during Moira's trial. That seems to be where this is going. She is like Oliver was at the beginning of the show, in need of a shrink.

And it seems to me that nobody except Quentin and Team Arrow knows that there were 2 bombs. If they did Arrow would get some credit for saving part of the glades and Quentin would have been put in jail by his a*****e boss.

This season is off to a great start. I can't wait to see what happens [blackout] with all those cops in Laurel's office. [/blackout]

Wow, it looks like my theory about BC being trained by the League of Assassin might very well be right, cool. Why wouldn't Quentin tell people about the second bomb, that doesn't make sense.

cool that they're continuing the Ra's al Ghul tie in. Merlyn left plenty of clues as to who was behind all the stuff happening both on the island and in Starling city. If Canary is Sara then I'm guessing they found her on the island and trained her. Maybe Wintergreen trained her like Slade did Ollie?

Because his boss is an idiot who would throw him in jail for working with the Hood again. That makes more sense than what just happened. Namely sending a task force after Arrow but not even a couple cops to escort the FEMA trucks.

It occurs to me that Team Arrow should have tipped off the cops that the vigilante was going to attack the trucks. Then they would have had 20 men there for the Triad.

You mean the first Deathstroke that we got on the show? I don't see how that's possible, since he was killed off before 1 year had passed from when Oliver was first shipwrecked on the island.
