“City of Heroes” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, V) (HDTV)

FROM VIGILANTE TO HERO — Diggle (David Ramsey) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) travel to Lian Yu in search of Oliver (Stephen Amell) who left Starling City after The Undertaking. Convinced to return home, Oliver finds that things are in worse shape than he thought – Isabel Rochev (guest star Summer Glau) is preparing a hostile takeover of Queen Consolidated, Thea (Willa Holland) refuses to visit Moira (Susanna Thompson) in jail, Roy (Colton Haynes) is trying to fill the void left by the Arrow’s absence, and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) is working with the District Attorney’s office to take down the vigilante. Meanwhile, flashbacks to the island show Slade (Manu Bennett), Shado (guest star Celina Jade) and Oliver in a desperate situation. John Behring directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim (#201).

How does no one figure out that Bruce Wayne is Batman, despite it being blindingly obvious? It's comics, that's how.

Neither Bruce Wayne being Batman nor Oliver Queen being Green Arrow are blatantly obvious.

Oliver already has an alibi for him and Green Arrow (I refuse to call him "The Hood") showing up at the same time in Season 1. Him getting himself arrested took care of that. As for why they're both gone and come back again in S2, Oliver can easily BS his way out of it. Plus, we don't know if they'll both be showing up exactly at the same time.

I'd actually prefer that Felicity and Diggle hook up. I liked their chemistry in S1 and I prefer her and Oliver as buddies.

IDK, I just don't like that relationship. And it feels doomed to fail, IMO.

But I agree on the Felicty/Diggle idea. I like the idea of those two together.

Well, if things work out between Diggie and his ex sister-in-law, then that possibility might be out of the question.

And yeah, I'm not a fan of Laurel as a character or as a leading lady in Oliver's life either.

It's just amazing how everything turned out. Felicity, who was just supposed to have a few scenes, is now a fan favorite and mainstay of the Arrow cast. Laurel, who's the leading lady, destined to be a hero herself and end up with Oliver, is just thoroughly hated.

I think it has a lot to do with the way she's been characterized on the show. Felicity's character is allowed to have more fun and be more cheerful/witty than Laurel was due to the premise of the series.

If they really wanted Laurel to be a fan favorite among many, it would have been better if she didn't start out as a jilted lover of Oliver's who was cheated on by him with her own little sister, let alone a person who didn't screw over Tommy (in more ways than one) as well.

Felicity has been pretty much free from all of that melodrama and has even been let on in the secret, which allows her character to be more useful.

I think it's pretty obvious Oliver was meant to end up with Laurel by the end of the show. They've built her up as his Lois Lane of this particular universe. That may not be the case anymore for the future due to the criticisms she's been getting and due to the (rumored) fact that Katie Cassidy is a complete ***** on set (again, just a rumor). We'll have to wait and see.

As obvious as the idea of Charlie Sheen being a genius detective vigilante that terrorizes criminals at night.

Well, whatever the case, they've chosen to allow her to remain alive for Season 2, and they've said that the "Black Canary's" arrival in Starling City will begin the process that will take Laurel on her own journey that'll eventually lead her to become Black Canary as well.

I don't know how it is with the other sites regarding Laurel's popularity, but I wouldn't be surprised if Felicity's character has a bigger following than Laurel does at this point. Laurel is pretty much the "Lana Lang" of this show, where the more the producers try to pair her up with Oliver in this "tragic romance" type of scenario, the more it just ends up ruining her character and making more people dislike her even further.

Heck, if we were to go by first impressions from what we've seen in terms of the Comic Con footage and the Poster for Season 2, it feels like Laurel's role has already been shortened in favor for Felicity who was featured more prominently in the poster and in the comic con footage.

Also notice Laurel Is one they hardly have any pics.Willa Holland and Summer Glau have more pics released than Katie Cassidy.

I won't be surprised if they decide to hook up Oliver and Felicity at some point.I already had that thought during season 1,and information on season 2 makes me think that's an even bigger possibilty.

It only takes a few obsessed Olicity fans to create a nasty rumor about KC. There is one poster on this board that would love to do so. The one who bashes Laurel/KC in almost every post. If she was so bad they would have had Laurel suffer facial injuries during the finale and need plastic surgery. Then they would have recast.

The whole point of the jilted lover and Oliver's sins is that the network seems to love angst. Oliver/Laurel is maximum angst, there you go.
