I hope they spread it around in the future. I am not a fan of angst. I would like to fast forward to a future with Oliver/Laurel as partners in both the bedroom and the rooftops.

If the writers didn't take everything that is essential to Dinah Laurel Lance instead of making her so reliant on Oliver and just around to be his love interest she probably would have been a bigger character. Should have had her already on her journey to Black Canary when Oliver got back instead of her entire existence resting on his.

I'm fairly certain that Tommy's death will be the start of that journey. Also, her supposedly dead baby sister being an ass-kicking vigilante might help.

I think the writers and Katie were perfectly aware of the backlash and hatred that would be spewed their way. Love interest on tv are usually villaified look at what's said about Anna Gunn's character on BrBd. It's just the way it is Love interest, kids and those god awful teenagers get the most hate.

Unless the love interest is interesting and awesome in their own right. For instance, both male leads on the Vampire Diaries, or Eric from True Blood. Laurel COULD be that way, but hasn't really been given the chance, at least not yet.

A friend of mine says she has lost count of how many time Marc has said via Twitter that Laurel is going to kick ** in the premiere.

So maybe it is coming. I still like my Deathstroke theory and if they are doing that they probably wouldn't release pictures of it before the show airs.

The only villains that have appeared to actually look menacing and threatening on this show so far were Deathstroke (not Slade Wilson) and the Dark Archer.

I hope this season they make him look more like the Arkham Origin design. I'd even be satisfied if they just slap a mask on him.

I think it has a lot to do with the way she's been characterized on the show. Felicity's character is allowed to have more fun and be more cheerful/witty than Laurel was due to the premise of the series.

If they really wanted Laurel to be a fan favorite among many, it would have been better if she didn't start out as a jilted lover of Oliver's who was cheated on by him with her own little sister, let alone a person who didn't screw over Tommy (in more ways than one) as well.

Felicity has been pretty much free from all of that melodrama and has even been let on in the secret, which allows her character to be more useful.

I agree, the second half of the season really didn't help the character as Laurel was being shoehorned into central plots more and more by behaving in an eye rolling manner because she had no knowledge of who Ollie really was, so there was no way to fit her in organically.

Then they went and made Tommy the most likable character on the show and she treat him like crap and then jumped on Ollie's arrow at the first opportunity, taking her from mildly annoying to hated.

I hope this season they make him look more like the Arkham Origin design. I'd even be satisfied if they just slap a mask on him.

This is the best Deadshot has ever looked IMO, a perfect modern update.

Oh yeah; not to mention that many have ended up questioning her intelligence in wondering as to why anyone in her position would still have feelings and go after a person that not only cheated on them for their younger sister, but was also responsible in putting her (little sister) in a position that ultimately led to her death.

Plus, most of her scenes as far as I can remember are always so angst filled, which is a stark contrast to the likes of Felicity who was probably the only female character in Season 1 to have the most joy in her life since she didn't have any chaotic thing going on in her personal life, thus people being able to enjoy her presence on the show.

If the plan was to portrayal Laurel as the love of Oliver's life, as the one that he'd end up with someday, I think it would have been better to have introduced Laurel as a new person in Oliver's life like they did with Felicity instead of jumping into the drama right away, so that it'd give the character a chance to be loved by the fans.

By doing what, by giving him a chance of a relationship and be there for him when she needed someone. I will never understand this blaming of Laurel for Tommy's own screw ups.

They made many mistakes with the character but screwing over Tommy isnt one of them.

I think it had more to do with the nature of how things end up concluding between them if anything else.

I mean he gives her space because he thinks that she's still in love with Oliver (and vice versa) and doesn't want to stand in between them, and when she's trying to Oliver to help her with her problem with Tommy, Oliver tells her that Tommy is right, and then she puts everything on hold and when Tommy goes to reconcile with Laurel, she ends up screwing Oliver who conveniently came a few minutes earlier to confess that he was still in love with her.

That part was just badly written. Ollie sees an end to his Hood days, and instead of making sure that it really will all be over, by just taking Malcolm down, he has to immediately go to Laurel and screw her. Right after he told Tommy to fight for her.
