yea i think if the third films theme is redemption a iconic shot of Batman over-looking his city with the Bat signal emblazoned in the sky would be a perfect way to end the trilogy.

For the love of all that's Batman and related characters....Please do not let Michael Bay anywhere near the next (or any) Batman movie.

Don't even let him buy tickets to go see it.

Or we will be back in another Shcumacher type Batman movie era of too loud, too colorful and too many stupid ideas thrown in the movie just for the sake of doing so, with him thinking that is how a "funny book" movie is supposed to be made.

I had to go to 8 years of intense Batman inspired thearpy consisting of reading all the best of Batman graphic novels andseeing 'Batman Begins' 10 times on the big screen to completley get over 'Batman and Robin'.

I...I just can't go though that again.

agreed. i can picture it now, a slow, over-dramatic swooping shot of the American flag fluttering in the wind, accompanied by some god-awful attempt at epic music. then suddenly a huge fireball rises into the air and Batman leaps out of it.

...The horror...the horror...the horror...

:waa:

I agree with most of everything. The cave, the mansion, batman restored as Gotham's hero...the hero they deserve. Hinting at Robin in some form or another would be cool....doubtful...but as long as they went into it verrrrrrry carefully and took Robin in the right way...it could work. I would like to see Robin done properly one day...I just don't know how that will ever work. So for now, just basically Batman as Gotham's loner hero. And a cameo by Ledger Joker...alas....

IMO the best way to work Robin or Nightwing into Nolans Bat-verse would be to just have him as some other mysterious vigilante in Gotham who is more violent and reckless than Batman. Batman is at a drug deal one night and is about to break it up when this other vigilante appears out of no where and starts obliterating the gangsters in a brutal fashion. Batman stops him and nearly comes to blows with this youngster. he sees a lot of potential in him but is wary of his violent streak, so he tries to get to know him and help him focus his anger.

That should be Nightwing. Drop the Robin stuff for Dick Grayson.

Huntress would suit your idea better then him.

yea maybe, but i've never been a big fan of Huntress. Shes just eye candy. And yea i prefer just having nightwing rather than robin.

I would like to see two things and somehow tie in a good narative by Gordon again:1) Bruce looking at a Riddle about the Leagues new leader and impending return if he doesn't clean up Gotham...dropping it and looking at the batsuit and then a wide vista of Gotham and hearing sirens in the distance.2) (if the comic fans don't hate it) Selena looking at a pregnancy test...ok maybe not (it would get everyone talking at least about what it means)

This was what I was trying to show earlier as the last scene at the end of the third movie.

That is an interesting scene, but I always pictured the end of this trilogy as a homage to the end of the original 1989 film, with Batman (redeemed as Gotham City’s true hero) standing atop a large skyscraper with the Batsignal present in the dark background sky and him look up slowly, with dramatic music and possibly a short narration. I always thought that would be cool, interesting.

Or, Batman could die saving Gotham and make the people realize that in there hatred for him, they realize that all along they needed him, and now he is gone, but will always remain in there hearts as the Dark Knight of Gotham City. Who knows, the limitations are practically limitless (oh, the irony)

Another possibility is have a set up for a fourth film (not sure how) but a cliff hanger that basically leads into another film, like BB and TDK have both done.

Again, the limitations are limitless, but however it turns out, I have trust and faith in Christopher Nolan that it will be breathtaking.

if they don't re-cast Joker i think a good way to include him in some way could be the very last scene just before the credits role, leaving the door open for someone to continue where Nolan left off.

I can picture it perfectly in my head, Batman is redeemed after saving Gotham again, the Bat-signal is brought back and is shining triumphantly in the night sky. But instead of Batman on top of a skyscraper looking up at it what about a view from a cell window with a mysterious figures hands gripping the bars of the window, a quick almost horror-esque shot of their face, so quick infact its hard to make out who it is. then they slowly start laughing building up to a maniacal, gleeful, insane laughter that echos down the halls of Arkham. i dunno if i explained it well but in my head it seems perfect.

My view on a third film(or maybe final Bale film).Just focus on minor villians and more on Batman.Batman doesnt need to clear his name.Thats the point! Batman doesnt want anybody to put their life on the line but his. Now there wont be copycat batmen because who wants to idolise a "killer" and vigilante. Now the citys criminals are now even more frightened of Batman because they think he kills now not like in TDK.

Now Gordon and can work with Batman without people suspecting that he works with a vigilante because Gordon was the one that said Batman killed those cops and he smashed the batsignal...But Gordon has control now because he's commish and still has get the batsignal back at MCU or maybe hidden on top of a new police hq.

The more people Batman save word of mouth will get around that Batman might be helping the city but the criminals and most of Gotham will think he's a criminal so when people will see the batsignal some people will have hope (The people he saves) and most will fear (criminals)him.

So by the end on part 3 everything is like it is in the comics. The batsiginal shining.A new Batmobile.Built mansion.Fully formed Batcave.Maybe spair batsuits.A Bruce Wayne the has sunk deeper and more violent in the Batman persona.Arkham has to be up and running to house all the freaks that batman captures.Plus he's more of a detective and is at crimes scenes.

I love what Nolan has done with both these movies.I think he really Nolan wanted to do a trilogy in the first place because he never gave us everything upfront Like a cave and the detective side of him, heaps of costumed freaks.just little bits here and there in each movie so at the end of part 3 everything is like it is in the comics.A FULLY FORMED BATMAN IN A FULLY FORMED BATVERSE!!!!

VOICE OFF (BATMAN)
This is my city, where I was born, twice, and where I’ll probably die, alone or not… I’m Batman…

The red clouds of the dawn take the shape of a bat, the bat signal rises again.

THE END.

BATMAN III

that was a great read Elgato, thank you. I'll repost my idea: Here's how I see the third film ending: Bruce Wayne at his parent's grave (isn't it about time we see this?), saying he hopes they're proud of the choice heS made, and that he'll try his best to keep his promise. As he walks away into the sunset (cliche I know but I don't care), the camera slowly goes down, to reveal that his shadow is, in fact, the shadow of his alter ego (hence the title of the movie: Batman: Shadow of the bat.

(and yes, this is almost exactly the end of an episode of TAS, but I don't really care, I think it would look great).

That's the perfect epic end for a perfect epic movie :cwink:

to bad if nolan tried it he'd try and make it more realistic some how. but all in all good ending.

why thank you sir! and I believe this scene is taken from the first TAS episode that features the scarecrow. I forget the name of said episode though.

Theres many ways Nolan (provided he signs on ) could end the third movie.

Do you want it to end with Batman succeeding? saving gotham? Obviously this couldn't happen with the comics, but this is quite a possibility for movies, as there would be no continuation, etc, and everyones made it quite clear they'd rather a reboot after the third movie (unless nolan would do a 4th/5th etc)

If it is a trilogy, how would it end....in someways i want closure..

Gotham loves Batman again, but Bruce Wayne realized that Gotham is no longer worth saving, and that he's going to do this for the rest of his life.

These words have been echoed by tons of people but I feel Batman 3 should end with Batman being fully evolved into the legend we know and love. Gotham finally grudgingly accepts him as their hero(though no Gossip Gerties confidently yelling out "Batman and Robin protect us") and Batman accepts his responsibility as protector of Gotham, even if he can't be the savior.
