Avatar: The Legend Of Korra - Part 4

They've said before that each book would stand on its own as a complete story. That's held true so far.

It's a complicated thing. On one hand, if they do a cliffhanger it'll give them time to continue the story and further build up the characters. The downside will be however that Book Four will have to focus on the Red Lotus instead of something else. For all its faults, Legend of Korra has brought us some cool villains and shakeups to the Avatar Universe. I would like to see what they would use an antagonist in Season 4 if Zaheer is out of the picture.

Then again, if they don't do a cliffhanger and everything is resolved a lot of questions will be unanswered...again. And then the point of certain episodes in the book will be called into question.

What's the right answer? I don't know if there is one, but it will be interesting to see how these final two episodes play out.

One thing that this show has kind of lacked is an overall arching storyline so I wouldn't mind if they carried part of the story over to next season. That is one thing that made the first Avatar series good.

They clearly didn't set up anything for the second season. I remember all the ass pulls. So, it would be nice if they actually planned out something.

I can see the events of this season finale spilling into the next one, just like between this one and "Spirits". Though hopefully it's a stronger one than releasing the spirits, then forgetting about the consequences of such said act after the first episode.

The creators already said whatever happens in Book 3 will "especially" carry over to Book 4.

That might not be the exact villains per say (or maybe it will be, we don't know) but Unaloq's involvement with the Red Lotus and Harmonic Convergence have both connected Book 2 and 3 (and Harmonic Convergence will still be an issue for Book 4 because Republic City is still upset over the spirit world blending into their city lol).

My prediction: Guru Laghima or that other dude that's been mentioned will be resurrected to return. I won't be disappointed if that doesn't happen, but I just have a feeling.

Btw, would anyone be pissed if Zuko comes to save the day with the Fire Nation? What beautiful irony would that be, the Fire Nation once made the Air Nation extinct but is now saving them from certain extinction.

I would also like to add, I feel these new Korra Books are a reflection of each Last Airbender Book (except for Book 1: Air).

Last Airbender | Legend of Korra
Book 1: Water = Book 2: Spirits
Book 2: Earth = Book 2: Change
Book 3: Fire = Book 3: ???

I guess we can all agree that Book 3 of Korra will definitely be Fire related!

It would be cool to see the Fire Nation.

I do wonder, why isn't the Fire Nation military tracking down the Red Lotus to kill them?

Whenever an evil faction becomes good, they seem to lose their competence.

because good is dumb :d

yeah they're actually posting the last two episodes online this week. That means there'll be no more Korra after this Friday! *sobs* WHY?!?!?!?

Ok, so the person who leaked episode 10 has posted yet another quote from the finale episode (first quote was from episode 12, this one is from episode 13, "Venom of the Red Lotus").

"The nature of my work has involved many journeys into the spirit world. According to tradition I have always left my physical body guarded by a close friend in the Order. This ancient tradition - spiritual journeyer paired with physical observer - is as old as the age of the Avatar. It is ostensibly to ensure my body’s physical safety. The true purpose of the practice is to guard against a much more sinister threat. While my spirit is on its journey, an ambitious spirit may seek habitation within my body.

"A rogue spirit moves through unwilling flesh like venom. Ancient records show that victims of possession exhibit signs of delirium when they awaken, as the foreign spirit attempts to assert control over the body. My guardian in the physical world watches for these signs. In the event of my possession, I must be prevented from deceiving my fellows within the Order, or all we are working for might be lost. My physical body must be destroyed. It is critical, therefore, that my guardians be chosen such that they know me personally, yet would have no compunctions against ending me for the greater good. Only the most fanatical members of the Order are entrusted with such a task. A young acolyte from the north with an interest in airbender philosophy is proving to be a promising candidate.

- From the journals of Xai Bau.

Can we be looking at.......
Zaheer trying to use Korra's body as a vessel to inhabit the spirit of Xai Bau or even Guru Laghima??? Possession??
Maybe the "Void" (as previously mentioned in another quote and the title of episode 12 "Enter the Void") is a place where the Guru or Xai have been lost or trapped in for many years and Zaheer is trying to bring them back? The creators did say this finale would be a lot less supernatural than Book 2's finale...so I don't know.

The last episode has been the best so far. Korra has had much more consistency in upping the ante every episode; even with forgetting all about the spirit vines and whatnot in episode 1

I think the spirit vines was just an excuse to kick Korra out of Republic City for a while. I don't think the vines are a threat though. I think they're just bothersome.

Just watched it.

I'm blown away.

This could very well be THE best season finale of both series. The emotions, the music, the animation.....everything. And the last 2 minutes will shock you into overdrive.

Unreal!!!

Anyone else break into tears when
they saw that Jinora got her tattoo?

Even Korra was crying, lol.

Well, that was a tear-jerking finale. I'm even more interested to see where Book Four goes now.

This finale took me through all the feels. From Korra and the avatar state almost being wiped out to Jinora finally getting her tats, this was a great finale.

For some reason I think that the avatar state is going to be even more messed up if not gone and Korra will just hide it from everyone for a while. Of course I hope it isnt and I hope that the past Avatars find their way back to it since I missed seeing any of them this season.

Very good finales episodes !
Nice homage to the battle between Avatar Aang and The Fire Lord ( the rocks spikes place ).
Bolin and Mako get their bending upgrade and Jinora her tattoos, I was glad she went bald, I was wondering if they would do that
Not enough Asami !

Mako always knew how to use lightning, so only Bolin upgraded

What a bittersweet ending.

I need some time to digest this finale. What a ride of emotions.

It's a great ending heading into the final season. Korra wins but is broken.
