Avatar: The Legend Of Korra - Part 6

That's why I would LOVE if they just gave us DTVs since it is the perfect inbetween.

Direct To Video like the all the DC animated films.

ah, I see.

I wouldn't mind a DTV film focusing on adult Aang's time. it would be a nice "filler" material while we await the next Avatar series.

cool!! I'll check it out!!

Please do! And ironically, some of the stuff you requested in your later posts (as in the ones after the one I quoted you in) is actually in Spirit of Earth!

My Avatar, Rey, is roughly 22/23 when the story starts and he finds out he's the Avatar. Also, his personality is different from Korra's...but not totally different. I have him as kind of a mix between Aang and Korra. He has fire in him (both good and bad), but he has the heart of a peacekeeper, and wants nothing more than to be the innocent child he once was.

Anyway, let me know when you check it out, whether it's here or in the chapters themselves! Look forward to talking with you about it. Oh, and if you like it, please spread the word! I really think Spirit of Earth could be the next Avatar series!

I would like that here. With Korra, we WANTED there to be news on what happened to Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko, and the others, but if they do a third series, I would like it to be more self-contained. Have Korra be a part of it (as she's now the first in the new line of Avatars), maybe mention the others, but don't jump into their lives like LOK did.

Sounds like what happened to previous characters in the Dragon Age games.

They got this pair of cousins to contend with
tumblr_ng8hbxzJTZ1tq1d9do3_r1_250.gif

So far they're the only famous superheroine couple that's NOT dead or separated!

Thank you, Japan! :woot:

Red Mask: That's funny, cause I mentioned them in a podcast I did today for Korra. Some things you never forget.

Also, in regards to your Dragon Age comment, was that meant to be a compliment?

It was an ass pull, like Korra's uncle being the leader of the Northern Water Tribe in Season 2 (something that would obviously have come up in Season 1 otherwise). They just made it up as they went along, hence why there was no hint of it prior to Season 3.

The show hasn't exactly been subtle about it.

Some character development didn't come out well-timed. But when it comes to personal relationships I don't believe they really happen in synch with what else is going on in a person's life. We're already using the same tropes from soap operas. It's a good thing the Avatar series isn't the same.

There's another bonus to why this happened in the end instead of earlier on. There's a stereotype that male heroes will fight for an ideal. Heroines will fight for something personal, like family, a loved one, or something materialistic. I'm glad Korra didn't go that route because we already have that in mainstream films, like Hunger Games.

It's surprising how gay characters in relationships are still getting the ax in mainstream media. Neil Gaiman's Foxglove and Hazel are the earliest comic book couple who managed to get out quick before they could have killed them.

As for Dragon Age, hell no. I want more resolution for the characters I grew to love since Origins. Connor deserves to have his own character arc become resolved because he's grown up now. Sten became the new Arishok and all we got is a mention from Varric about having met both of them. Alistair deserves more storyline if he's king of Ferelden. Personally, I want a DLC involving a return to Black Marsh, Kal Hirol, and the Vigilance blade.

I wouldn't mind a series of DTV (it could also be a way to do more stuff without the creators having to go through the hassle of a full TV show, which they seem reluctant to do again). Some could be set in between ATLA and LOK and flesh that stuff out while some could be set post-LOK to show how they all end up (also more Korra/Asami and Varrick/Zhu Li).

Ah, I didn't play Dragon Age so I didn't know. Again, I'm not opposed to learning some stuff about the LOK crew should a third series happen, but I don't want it to be a focus. Especially since at best (if we're being logical), the next series would take 70-80 years after the finale of Korra. Using my story, Spirit of Earth, as an example, I had Korra die around 80, and then my Avatar, Rey, found out he was the Avatar at around 22/23. So that right there is 80 years into the future. If the LOK ain't dead, they should be knocking on death's door! lol.

The real reason I don't want LOK mega-followups for a third series is that if you don't cram stories for every character in it, fans will be let down. In LOK we didn't really get a lot of resolution for Sokka, Toph and Zuko to a degree, and even some of Aang's story didn't get fleshed out and fans wanted it to. If a third series is to be made, I'd like it to not have the burden that LOK did in parts of its seasons.

You don't need big followups, and there were plenty of easy ways to tie in everyone that wouldn't have taken up much story. But it is natural for people to want to know what happened to the characters, especially when we have such strong ties to them still in LoK.

Exactly, and I respect that. Legend of Korra was our chance to return to a world we loved oh so much. But if we return again? I hope they don't try and do that outside of Korra and maybe off-handed mentions to the others.

Hey everyone,

So for a while now I've been talking about my idea for a third Avatar series, a story I wrote called Spirit of Earth. I've bored you enough with a bunch of text about it (sorry), so I wanted to do a more personal approach, and show you my passion for this story. It's a little long, but I think it really expresses why I think there can and should be a third Avatar series. Enjoy.

Just finishing watching the last episode of this great series. It was an awesome ride.

I don't know what people are going on about Kora and Asami being gay. I didn't get that vibe at all from the ending nor did the show ever elude to their relationship being more than being good friends. It really seems like the people that are saying that they are gay are just trying to promote their own pro-homosexual agenda. I have no problems with gay characters, I loved Torchwood and that had a lot of homosexual/pansexual stuff.

Anyway, I hope there are more Avatar shows, the stories are fantastic and it's a show we love to watch as a family.

The creators of the show said they were bisexual, no one is trying to promote anything, they be a couple now.

Our intention with the last scene was to make it as clear as possible that yes, Korra and Asami have romantic feelings for each other.

Rewatch seasons 3 and 4. Their relationship clearly becomes more intimate over time and they spend the most time with/talking to each other. Then it ends with just the two of them. Put Mako or a new male character in Asami's place and there would be no question it's a romantic relationship at the end. It was a kiss shy of being a Disney ending. In fact, the music playing is the same theme as when Aang kissed Katara at the end of TLA.

Making them a same-sex couple or pointing it out isn't pushing an agenda.

fans are going all out with their korrasami art:

Wow, this guy's work is pretty fantastic.

Awww! That picture is just too damn adorable. Damn it, it can't just end. I'd kill for Netflix to pick up a new series.

Who's the father? Mako lol?

Poor guy has to be rethinking his life after that finale. Both his love interests turned gay.
