Hmm, interesting. I don't know what to think of all that so I'll just wait for official info when it comes.
I say that because all they are doing is once again just changing the title line ups and giving them new suits and putting out more books. That is nothing more than what they have already been doing. If not for them having an event every other month and putting out so many 15 variant covers for their books DC would be kicking their butts right now. They need to fix their messed up continuity.I don't know why some people insist that a line wide reboot is the answer for Marvel...
Unfortunately, writing good damn stories doesn't help with sales. That's why X-Factor sells so poorly, the last version of Exiles didn't get to finish its first arc, and MI:13 didn't make it past the 15th issue.
No I haven't if you read any of my post even when I was Ultimate Superman I have done nothing but praised Marvel up until OMD. The only reboot durm I have been beating is they needed to undo OMD other than that I love Cap and the Ultimate line. I never said Marvel or DC needed to reboot. I saw Marvel should right now because of how old their history is and for the target area they are going for sooner or later they are going to have to reboot since your history goes all the way back to the 60's. Know what you're talking about before saying that someone been saying this for a long time.Eh, this guys been beating the "Marvel needs a reboot" drum for a while.
Must be a big new 52 fan.. cuz that worked so well for DC
its not necessary for Marvel
It was a temporary boost for DC's sales, and then they slipped back down.
I don't think any kind of reboot is the answer for sales, just write good damn stories
same here. The militant isolationist direction didnt happen until after they moved to San Francisco. Things didnt really change that much following M Day within the books. WaTX has been a step in the right direction, getting back to how things used to be and thats still operating under the under 200 mutants landscape. Hopefully AvX will result in the Phoenix Force being used to reactivate the X-gene and the X-men unite again as one. I have my doubts on that happening thoughI don't think it was a logical step.
The X-men didnt become militant towards humans when the race was wiped outto me being militant toward humans when a mutant wiped out half the race makes no sense
The sales success of DC's new 52 is like everything else in hindsight - 20/20. There were a lot of people (like myself) that thought it would fail.
Marvel needs to:
1. Write good stories.
2. Get back to basics for characters that have gotten off track.
3. Stop changing universe status quo with every event or every other event.
4. Stop stretching out the writers too thin with 3 or 4 top tier titles, the quality takes a hit when you do that.
5. Stop relaunching the top tier titles that have been around since the company launched in the 60's (Avengers, Thor, Iron Man, ASM, UXM ect). Save that stuff for the books that actually need the sales boost.

I would reduce the books to X-men, Uncanny X-men, X-Force, Excalibur and Generation X.
X-men would be Storm's team
Uncanny would be Scott's team
X-force would be a led by Cable but would be proactive
Excalibur would be the international team
Generation X would be the New Mutants training the next group of mutants
This is the problem though. New Mutants doesn't sell now even with the beloved tandem of DnA writing it. How is the name Generation X going to help? It won't. Same with a Cable led X-Force and the current X-Men title that features a team led by Storm.
Uncanny X-Force sells well now, no need to dump it for Cable. Same with Wolverine and the X-Men, why dump it when it sells well for something that has a 50/50 shot at success?
at least Bendis isnt taking over Uncanny from Gillen. Now that would have been awful. Let him take X-men, which has always been an irrelevant series
i have an aversion to Wolverine being a leader.
