The Dark Knight Rises Batman 3: Where does the story go from here?

one thing about BANE i didnt know was that Hugo Strange administered the first dose of venom to him. They could easily do the prey storyline with Bane instead of the cop Strange corrupts.

I truly hope though that they work some cameos into this one, like even just realy quick spots with characters like penguin, hatter, riddler, etc

@ BatmanReborn, oh yeah! I totally forgot about that! I'm not a Strange-advocate so I think they might tie in Crane into this somehow. I really hope we see more (relevant) cameos, Gotham's lost to the freaks now anyway, so it really makes sense to see some more of these "escalated" threats. I think we'll be seeing some kind of gang-war between a lost Sons of the Bat bunch and either something like the Mutants or the Jokerz, or maybe the False Face Society, that would really place 'symbolic figures' like Batman and his foes in an elevated place.

As for Bane, I remember his original gang, they had those outlandish code-names that made them even more frightening. Maybe we'll see that in the same way we saw the clowns in the bank. Either way, he needs to be a more powerful antagonist than the Joker, and I don't mean just strengthwise. I think while some of the undertones in the first film centered in psychology and philosophy, the second with politics, this third might deal with mythology in the same regard. The mythology of these larger-than-life characters, so to speak, and how such urban legends effect the people overall.

There was that bit about Batman willing to transcend conventional morality for the greater good in both films, and then keeping himself in check, I expect that to be addressed with someone like Bane who organizes the freaks and manipulates them-a seemingly paradoxical feat.

I just don't want the Bat-Mecha suit from KNIGHTFALL and THE BATMAN to make an appearance. Not something that would make this any better. Bane isn't a cyborg either, so I expect to see a lot of physicality here. I think a good way to start off his story is to parallel the way Bruce was introduced to us - lost to himself battling criminals in that Bhutanese prison. And contrast that with how Bruce is once again doing the same thing - trapped in his own city, back to square one, forcing himself to be labeled a criminal to finish them off one at a time, only this time the stakes are higher.

I like the idea of Bane being involved with the police somehow. Either they hire him in some fashion, or they could mix the character with Lock-Up, where he's a cop that takes his job way too seriously and eventually goes rogue to take matters into his own hands.
Yeah, that works well with Batman being the villain in the story, at least initially. It's actually the best way I thought Riddler could have been used, but Bane works in a similar way.

As I've said before, getting Bane here and having him involved with the police makes me hopeful of a final clash like we've seen in DK:R between Bats and Supes, with Bane replacing the latter (yeah it's a bit crafty, but it could work - the same way Batman saving Gordon's son from falling worked at the end of TDK, echoing the scene from YEAR ONE).

Here's what we know, Bane and Catwoman will appear. JGL and Marion Cotillard are in talks to join the cast. The film is shooting in Michigan, New York, London, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, and India, perhaps Romania as well (I think that's all of it). After the events of TDK, the GCPD will be hunting down Batman for six murders including Harvey Dent.

I think the story will begin with a worn-down Batman on the run from the police. We'll see the new Batcave and a replacement for the tumbler. Bruce will be neglecting his duties at Wayne Enterprises and will be on the edge of quitting being Batman. A series of break-in's by someone known as "the cat" will come to everyone's attention. The GCPD assumes that the cat is working with and helping the vigilante known as Batman. at the same time a new love interest joins in, Julie Madison.

The Mayor will ask Gordon to form a task force to capture Batman and all of his accomplices or he'll be out of a job. Conflicted, Gordon reluctantly starts the task force with the help of Dr. Hugo Strange (JGL) and Bane (will be named someone else). After a few filler scenes it's revealed that Bane is working with the league of shadows and Talia al Ghul. It also turns out that the person Bruce has been confiding in, Julie Madison, is in fact Talia al Ghul. She gets revenge on Batman and Bruce for the death of her father by having Bane, enhanced with Strange's venom, break the bat. At the same time, Hugo Strange masquerades as Batman and kidnaps the mayors daughter under orders from Talia.

This is when Catwoman comes into the picture and helps Bruce reconcile his two personalities. Bruce reveals his identity to Catwoman and vice-versa. Eventually there is an action set piece where the poliTce shoot Strange to death, thinking he's Batman, and Catwoman and Batman face off against Talia and Bane. Talia and Bane are somehow apprehended and the murders of Harvey Dent and the five others are pegged on the dead Hugo Strange.

The movie would end with Catwoman somehow slipping into the night and Batman rising to the challenge of becoming the guardian of Gotham City.
