I really can't imagine anybody being let down by this.

Good (yes, good) actor. Right look. Right age. Experience behind camera. Fit.

It's a very good choice. Maybe a safe one, but a very good one.

Is Daredevil really a radically different role than Batman?

C'mon, they have far more in common than anything else.

and Zack Snyder isn't exactly known for getting legendary performances from actors.

Zod was laughable in MOS.

All the batman roles in the 90's weren't really "radically different" from Batman...
you must see what you are doing.

And yes Snyder has gotten some great performances out of people, but this is a matter of opinion.

Affleck will probably play a good Bruce effortlessly. It's him as Batman I'm worried about.

I wonder how big the role will be. If he is older and just supporting Supes as a mentor then I'm happy.

I really don't understand all the hate that's been going on, but I'm fine here.

:whatever: Really?

Edit: I mean really? Look...I loved Argo, and I think Affleck is a great Filmmaker but at his absolute best as an actor he's passable.

Now witness the weight of users jump into the new thread. :hehe:

Zod was laughable? I was under the impression that Shannon's performance as Zod was very well received.

He is going to be the co-star and kick Superman's ass.

Some of the twitter responses are brutal...

I definitely like the move. People just want to be negative.

Only if you see the comments on almost every news site, VERY few people are happy :/

I don't like the idea of him as a mentor, Supes and Bats should be friends but because they are just meeting, probably some tension because their methods differe. I also believe that because its Ben Affleck he won't just be poppin up now and then to give words of wisdom.

It is simply when you realize many believe he does not have the right look or voice.

No. Just...no.

He's not the worst actor, but he's also not very dynamic or blessed with a great range. And he just seems too, IDK, frat boy type to play the role. I can't really describe it.

But I am not pleased.

I honestly don't get why people like that Twitter user hate Affleck so much. I think that in 1997 they heard it was cool to **** on him, so they just went with it.

Before seeing The Town I would have been very let down by this. But Affleck is a good actor, I just dont him as Batman at all though, he just doesnt carry the threat for it for me and he always plays the same character.

You're not going to please many people by casting Batman.

Even if Hamm got the role, there'd be backlash.

It's the internet. Kneejerk reactions prevail.

You can do a lot worse than Affleck. A lot worse. He's a solid pick.
