They should bring back the stunt double to play Hush. :oldrazz:

Affleck looking good as Bruce

looks like he stepped right out of the comics & animated series

He really does. It's sort of absurd.

I like how they're dressing him. I don't know that we've seen Bruce wear that kind of thing often? Looks nice though.

We haven't. He looks distinguished. Not that Bale didn't, but we never saw him look quite like that.

How do you guys mean? In a three-piece suit? Because...

And I want to say Keaton wore one when he goes to Schreck's office in BR, but I'm having trouble finding caps of that...

As for Affleck, I'm loving the "classy but ruff'n'tumble" thing he's got going on in these photos, but more that that, I love that Bruce Wayne is hero-ing in the daytime, sans suit and possibly not even in his city.

Affleck looks awesome, sure it's shot from far away, but I like his build, he looks quite big.

I guess I mean the color? It kinda adds to the whole "distinguished" thing imo

Again, I wasn't trying to imply that Bale wasn't distinguished.

EDIT: Basically, I don't ever recall seeing Bale in a standard three-piece without the jacket. When he wore a suit, he wore the whole suit. Affleck, for whatever reason, chose to or had to abandon the suit jacket, and a suit without the jacket is a different, yet similarly distinguished look that I kind of prefer.

Yeah, I knew that.

Sure, me too.

I think Bale looks different in similar clothes because he was so thin, and the cut of the suits looked somewhat rumpled around his frame.

I'm gonna go for some 'Nolan realism' and say his suits were supposed to hide his frame. He was built pretty solidly in Begins. The rationale is probably that it's easier to not raise any suspicion if people think Bruce Wayne is built like an average guy rather than a scarred tank that beats gangs to a pulp in the evenings.

With Affleck's build you won't hide that he's a big guy almost not matter what you do

That's true. The fact that Bale's suits were a size too big, combined with his very gaunt face, does make him look rather less suave than Fleck, however. It may well be a creative choice, though.

For TDKR it definitely was, since he was out of action and broken down etc. Lindy Hemming mentioned it. TDK I'm not sure about.

Assuming that Snyder's Batman will still be an "urban legend" when the story opens, I imagine this allows for Wayne to be a little less guarded in the public eye.

Yeah definitely, if that angle pans out. In TDKT Bale's Bruce Wayne persona was always unassuming and unremarkable. Hands in pockets when talking, no dramatic facial expressions or gestures. It was quite a departure from something like Keaton's humorous and occasionally eccentric portrayal. I'm assuming this was all by design, so if nobody is actually looking out for who the Batman could be I'd imagine a lot more expressiveness will be apparent in Affleck's physical and emotive contributions.

Bale did pretty well as the drunk bore in BB. His melt-down speech at the birthday party was great. Bruce Wayne seemed to subside in the sequels, however.

I just visualised some fun, heavy-handed monologue.

"It's really difficult being both Bruce Wayne and Batman. As Bruce Wayne I need to attend business meetings, travel the world, and maintain my reputation as a party animal. That doesn't leave too much time to be Batman. So I do what I can. I go out as Batman, four or five nights a week for five or six hours at a time".

Camera cuts to criminals being beaten up.

I thought it'd be fun to see what Batfleck looked like if he were even bigger.

is there any existing Affleck performance yet where he is gritting up his voice? can't wait to hear what he sounds as the Batman more than anything

I personally have a semi standard pitched voice, but I can do a decent Kevin Conroy impression when playing with resonance, both Bruce and Batman mode, so I have reason to hope that Affleck can handle the voice too. I'd just like to hear some reference of his grit voice

I thought Bale was awesome as Bruce Wayne and looked the part well. And I know it was the evening, but Bruce did do some heroics in TDK with taking that gun from the Joker's one clown guy. Damn that movie was awesome...just seeing these pics and talking about that scene makes me want to watch it again. :)

Keaton did wear a suit during the day in the '89 Batman when he was in public when the Joker had that poison pen and killed the crime boss scene. Don't remember if it was three piece or not though...leaning towards it not being now because I remember he went home later and spoke to Alfred in the same suit I think... (Another great movie too, I love the '89 Batman... possibly my favorite version of Batman in live action to date)

Anyway yeah, it is great to see that Bruce will do some heroics in BVS as well, I agree.

If Ben Affleck does a Conroy impression that's at least average that'll be fine with me lol. I just hope he doesn't try to do something like the silly thing Bale did in TDK films...that was one of the things I didn't like lol.
