Even if WB was to offer it to Bale (which I think is unlikely) I don't think he'd do it. Even if he was interested it I'm not sure how comfortable he would be to take over for Ledger.

Yup...on top of that, I think there was a brief spell where fans were talking about bringing in Keaton to play The Joker in the Nolanverse. This never had any real chance of happening of course, but then he was approached to voice The Joker in The Dark Knight Returns, and sadly declined.

Why would they approach him about playing Joker when they could have asked him to do Batman. He has one of the best Batman voices ever.

In an alternate world, how cool would it have been for Bale to play Joker opposite Ben's Batman? Both physically embody their respective characters. And honestly I think Bale would've killed it a lot more with somebody as flamboyant as Joker.

Hot Joker. Heath was bad enough, I don't think I'd be able to take Bale as Joker.

The thing that bothered me the most about the TDKT Batman was that he didn't have that "Nothing matters except the mission."-attitude. I hope that we get an effective and brutal Batman. Maybe have him in a really dark stage of his life and make Superman the thing that picks him up.

A guilt ridden, merciless Batman who has this whole black and white view on things. A falling out with Dick, guilt and Anger about Barbara being paralyzed and Jason being dead. Maybe introduce Tim in the future but for BvS a Batman who is a loner. A driven Batman who drowns his anger and guilt by putting on the cape and cowl. Maybe have him reluctantly getting intel and assistance from Barbara as the Oracle all the while feeling that Barbara has done and sacrificed more for his mission than anyone other than himself should.

But on topic: I've warmed up to Batfleck to the extent that I think his Batman will be the best part of BvS. I mean, they can't steer any further from the essence of the character than The Dark Knight Rises did. And Ben certainly has both the look, build and acting chops to pull off the perfect Batman.

Coincidentally, our last Joker was also (momentarily) up for Batman. I remember Heath saying he had actually met with Nolan for Batman Begins, but things didn't work out.
