BvS Ben Affleck IS Batman - - Part 24

I saw Ben's recent talkshow appearance. I have no worry about him showing the angry/brooding side of Batman. He spoke about this side of his personality recently, too. It erupts from him in bursts.

I'm an Affleck fan and I agree that that talk show appearance brought into surface his more passionate side which is definitely a Batman quality. Clearly, it's just a debate regardless of the controversial subject but I'm just afraid for the amount of attention it has gotten and the current events might taint his reputation and reduce the box office numbers for Gone Girl. I really hope people let go of prejudice and avoid doing that. Even for those who might disagree with his views, it shouldn't be turned into hate. He already was unfairly prejudged for his taking of the role of Batman and I don't want to see this turn into another controversy cause I think he just doesn't deserve that kind of treatment, he's just a nice smart guy who works hard and stands up for what he believes IMO.

Waaaa? Another newbie!?? WELCOME Mari!

Hey Mari, I really doubt that interview will stop anyone from seeing Gone Girl, haha he's not the only one in the film. Also I agree with what you're saying and while he was a bit angry in that interview and all that, he had his heart in the right place but just came off a bit impatient. I've seen that he actually gained a few fans for what he said and vice versa though I felt more gained, but I wouldn't worry. Bruce Wayne can take it. :)

Maher came off as an Islamophobic and Ben held himself well and as long as he possibly could. I'm so glad Affleck spoke up, though I can see why some could view his outburst as someone who feels their opinion matters and theirs only.

Maybe Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne will be fine after all.....

Those are the mannerisms of someone who wants to kick ass but is holding himself back. :funny:

Perfection as far as Wayne goes.

Haha exactly. ^ It's that build up of Anger he was on about in that other interview. I see it. :hehe:

During the roundtable discussion, I was actually picturing him seated among the Justice League, and about to lose his cool with Hal Jordan or some other DC hero.

He was on a political show and gave a totally none mean spirited opinion on the topic at hand. I think he'll be fine, people know his politics by now. So he's a passionate guy, so what?

Exactly. Regardless of what people think of his views, his mannerisms here are very promising.

He's entitled to his opinion and nobody can accuse him of sitting on the fence.

Didn't Affleck major in Middle Eastern Studies when he went to college? He certainly could school Maher, but chose not to.

He's a class act, even though Bill Maher is an asshat.

Welcome to the hype!

Affleck is a known Liberal so obviously something like this was going to get a passionate response.

Reminded me of this:

Affleck and Maher are both liberals; they're usually of like mind on most political issues. The problem is: although Maher, a well-known atheist, occasionally makes valid points about various forms of organized religion, he doesn't have any tact whatsoever. He often refers to religious Christians (both Catholics and Protestants) as "Jesus freaks", and even called the former Pope a Nazi on account of his German heritage and nationality.

At any moment, unbridled passion and rage was about to pour out.

I'm sure it was a combination of his political views AND the sheer exhaustion from promoting Gone Girl.

One things for sure... you wouldn't like Bat-Fleck when he's angry. :o

He also attempted to school Sam Harris, someone who can run intellectual circles around Ben on the subject of Islam. Of course every time Sam tried to speak up on the matter and correct Ben, he was shouted down.

Seeing Affleck get all riled up by Maher's Islamaphobic rant has really impressed me. Great guy (Affleck, that is)

I see a little Bruce Wayne in Ben!

Yeah i just watched the video.
