You need to earn credit and Snyder still has some ways to go for most people with the work he's put out so far as director.

He already earned credit. It doesn't mean he doesn't have anything to prove.

I was thinking about fight scenes and I also hope we get something along the lines of this. I would be beyond exhilarated. Sure it's "Batgodish" but damn do I love me some Batgod.

I don't feel that's too Batgodish actually - many action films go to this level I think - Bourne and Bond are good examples. I mean I guess they don't do the acrobatics like that, but honestly, a live action Batman probably would never go quite to that level anyway. I would however love to see more flipping and agility from Batfleck though. Good clip!

I'm hoping with Snyder he changes that. I'd love to see a more acrobatic Batman.

I agree. Batgod's an overused term anyway. Bruce Wayne isn't just a regular guy; he's a fictional peak human, just like Kal-El is a fictional alien from the planet Krypton. Peak humans (specifically the way they're defined in the DC universe) and Kryptonians don't exist in the real world, and that's perfectly fine. Movies, particularly those rooted in fantasy, need not always adhere to the limits and laws of the real world. If we can have an undiluted Superman in MoS, batteries, powers, and ridiculous disguise included; if we can have an actual peak human in the form of the MCU's Captain America; then we can sure as hell have a peak human Batman!

I will never forgive Snyder if he doesn't far exceed the low bar that has been set for Batfights. I mean the bar is super low.

The bar for fights, the Batsuit, the Batvoice and the worlds greatest detective were all extremely low.

Well I'm certainly not disagreeing with you. Not trying to invalidate other interpretations but I very much want to see a certain version of Batman this time.

Same here! I know, I know, this is said a lot but Cap's fighting in TWS is exactly what I want to see for Batman. I don't think we've ever seen a live-action Batman ever even do a legit kick.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You get it. I loathe the counterintuitive double-standard that so many DC fans exhibit. I've always found it amusing when people complain about how Batman would never be able to last a second against Superman, batgod blah blah. Um hello? Superman by definition is a godlike character. There is no law of physics that allows Superman to have every superpower you can think of while Batman MUST be limited to the most basic human abilities. They're both fiction. This is why I appreciate TDKR and Morrison's work. They have the guts to push limits, and they're well aware that this is fiction, the only limit is your imagination.

If Snyder doesn't deliver this time around, I very much doubt anyone ever will. I'm pessimistic like that. :cwink:

I want a Batman that can take on three guys at once and get the job done with style. I'd like him to be able to add in some judo-type flips as well here and there.

Well said. :)

And on the subject of this Batman's fighting style...

If it's anything like the fights in the videos below, I'm good. Seriously more grapple hook action, smoke pellet bombs and all that.

I am very confident that Snyder will give us the Batman we all want. MOS action was so good. Snyder go this.

I'm glad they've upped Batman's skill set over the years. Its what happens when any character reaches a high level of popularity. Superman went through the same thing when he was the top hero, so why not Batman?

In my experience, a lot of Superman (and in the case of the CBR forums, Wonder Woman) fans pretty much resent Batman and his popularity. They hate Batgod, but only because they want their preferred hero as top dog.

I wonder how familiar Snyder is with the Arkham games. :hmm

What they really need to do is ensure the Batsuit is heavy enough to slow it right down, so Batman's limbs flail around like a drunken man's who is drowning in a freezing river.
