Talking of classics, BatFleck himself will be a bonafide classic. In fact he's pretty much there already just from grocery shots but once he gets a release should start climbing that all-time list fast.

I remember reading a super nitpicky review of Spidey 2, and holy crap the film has enough in it to keep a nitpicker busy for a considerable amount of time. But lets not turn this into another Spidey thread, It'll inevitably just turn into a Levi rants about TASM 1&2 thread.

My hate for TASM1 & TASM2 is epic.

Spider-Man 1 and 2 are two of the best superhero movies ever. They may get overshadowed with all the "new kids", but they will always be precious to me.

This. It's the same way with Burton's Batman films and Donner's Superman films. Everyone praises Nolan's Batman and Snyder's Man of Steel and hates the Burton and Donner films simply because they are older. Don't get me wrong, love Nolan's Batman trilogy but there are things Burton did better IMO. Visually I think Burton's films are way better but that's a topic for another day.

Overall it doesn't matter if a film is older, simply liking a film because it's newer IMO is stupid. So I guess people like the SW prequels over the OT based on that logic.

I think Spider-Man 2 is up there with the best of them.

It is. Was praised as the best CBM of all time at it's time, has a 94% on RT which is tied for the highest rated comic book movie with The Dark Knight, and won an Oscar.

I've always said and felt both Spider-Man 2 and The Dark Knight are the 2 best comic book movies of all time. No comic book film comes close to them.

At least Tobey doesn't mubble most of his lines or is a dick in the movie. Enjoy the Goblin knock out Lizard who develops a split personality after taking a serum like Norman in the first film. Also enjoy logic like a football that bent a ****ing goalpost.

What do you mean by "at least he's not a dick in the movie"? Raimi's first two are way better than Webbs movies but one thing they got right with casting Garfield, is that Andrew actually plays the smart-ass Spider-Man the way it should be done. It's not perfect when he's in the suit, but it's a lot closer to who Spidey is than what Maguire was doing. And he looks more like Peter. But ill still side with Tobey because he doesn't stutter, and has a certain charm to him. Garfield overdoes the stuttering, man it's annoying.

Tobey feels like Ditko Spider-Man to me, exuding that Peter charm without being a stuttering cliche. I just can't take to Garfield completely, but then I suppose his films don't help matters.

I never got how Spider man 2 is said to be the greatest comic book movie.

For me, it's definitely up there, but I'd never call it the best cbm of all time. I actually prefer the first one.

I understand it and don't mind it when it isnt one long joke. Spidey should make quick quips. I remember the bank scene in SM2 when Spidey told Doc Ock here's your change and I have a knack for that. Him with that one car thief became embarrassing and cringe worthy due to how long he jokes around with him.

I think Andrew's delivery is a problem with it. When he jokes he either sounds the same as when he's serious or annoying but not really funny. I do feel Andrew's performance in TASM2 was the best in the film and also superior to TASM1. There are lines I like like that Rhino joke at the end and how he tied up Rhino and pulled down his underwear. Stuff like that did scream Spidey.
