Batman Forever is a great movie. The Bruce/Dick stuff was awesome. And if Two Face was a bit more serious and more like the comics, the movie would be perfect.

A "great" movie? I do enjoy the movie sometimes, it's fun. But i can separate myself from a film, and judge it as that, whether i enjoyed it or not. It's a bad movie no doubt about it, with entertaining bits. Rises is a good film but it's not great/perfect because of some editing issues, and the odd plot-hole (most of which don't exist as fans like to claim, but there's a couple for sure). But i love that movie. Doesn't mean it's perfect.

I would say that BF is a mediocre movie and a bad Batman movie. B&R is terrible in both categories.

Yeah i shouldn't say "bad", since that would be more B & R, Green Lantern, Spider-Man 3. But it's a mediocre film at best. There's no way it's anything more than that as a movie. But it's entertaining when you're in the mood for pure popcorn. B & R is just a terrible movie, and im sure a select few could find genuine entertainment from it when alone and sober. But that's another question since taste is subjective obviously.

^This. I'd like to see Joel taking a shot at a Director's Cut of the movie, with the original script order and all the deleted material. I fear BF is another Kingdom of Heaven case, where studio interference made a good film into a train wreck with abysmal editing room decisions.

So, there it is. Feel free to throw rocks at me, folks.

Even with Nolan, there were still things missing IMO. Very eager to see how this batman stacks up against the rest.

If it hits higher on the flashy chart than Nolan, but lower on the wacky meter than the others, it'll be golden.

People rag on the Schumacher costumes but I thought they were freaking awesome aside from the ice theme suits at the end of Batman and Robin. Robins costume in BF and Batmans initial costumes in Batman Forever and Batman and Robin are all amazing in my book.

I especially love Batmans cowl in the first Batman and Robin suit

This. I'll be honest, I didn't like the old burton-shoemaker films. Even as a child I was all, "meh, I'm gonna watch Jurassic Park for the millionth time."
But I remember when BB came out, I was in grade 6 and it was on the tv in the background and every few minutes I'd look over and go, "wooahh, what the is this? Ahhh! Who's scarecrow!"

The movie would have been quite good if they added in certain deleted scenes and toned down the silliness. Starting the film with Two-Face's escape from Arkham would've been better, as well as using the original sequencing. But alas.

Well...BF was the closest to the comics really out of any of the non-Nolan films. BR was basically a freakfest, Batman shooting, lighting on fire, blowing up people left & right in the Burton films. Lando as Dent in the first film, Tommy Lee Jones in BF...partially because Burton knew absolutely nothing about what to do with rich supporting characters like Gordon or Dent and where their stories led. Burton's Joker was just a mobster, Riddler was essentially the Joker.

Sad thing about Schumacher's films was the guy did the Lost Boys...so he can do dark stuff. All those early Batman films were a case of WB putting their paws into everything or the wrong directors/writers.

I can't stand B89 or BR...and can barely deal with BF above those. B&R is a total turd. Even Nolan's TDKT had issues IMO. Rises was a let down, TDK got sloppy in the final acts; if it weren't for Ledger, I'd hate it entirely. Only Begins really does it for me out of all Batman films to date and that's by letting a few things slide.

....but I'm opinionated and I calls it as I sees it. We all have our own likes and dislikes.
(Sorry, there's nothing going on here & I'm bored. Haha)

Funny how we get our news about what's being said or leaked or guessed about primarily from forums. Most of the time, the forums have news before anywhere else. Who needs Google?
