I don't mind the fact that Batman has started branding people. He is supposed to be more brutal after all.

Besides, he most likely won't stay that way anyway.

Superman is a symbol of hope, and I think in this case, his light will reach deep down into Batman's crusty, grizzled old heart and inspire him to become the (less brutal) Batman he once was.

Grrrr I have no heart only blackness.... and sometimes very very dark gray.

I think Ma Kent's "you don't owe the world anything" speech might apply here. Supes can teach Bats that he doesn't have to be full of hate and rage.

Is it childish that I want Clark to make Bruce so full of remorse he starts crying? To show that Batman can be more than revenge, and for Supes to hug him? If done right, I think it would be powerful.

I think Batman will bring up that little girl he found in the rubble and the rest of the people at Wayne Financial he lost during the Metropolis battle.

and I actually want to see that, because I want to see Superman's reaction.

I want to see Superman pause with sadness and remorse and acknowledge the lives lost during his battle with Zod. and then remind Batman that if he didn't stop the World Engine and Zod, then many more lives would have been lost.

not only would that prove to Batman that Superman is not unfeeling monster, but it would also shut up all the MOS hater who call Superman Man of Murder or say he doesn't care about people.......

^ This. I'm hoping that is this scene.

Also, if Superman didn't rescue people in the rubble afterward (we didn't see that in MOS) I hope he regrets not doing so in this movie.

Someone posted a pic from the 40's serial where there were crooks branded by Batman

I have that serial. Doesn't look to me like he branded them, just stamped his mark on their foreheads.

He should give them tattoos. :o

Don't be a smartass. There's no need for him to leave his mark at all.

Eh, a bit too much IYAM.

That's fine. But branding?! That's a step too far. Even for the Bat. IMO.

In what respect do you think it's a step too far? The level of brutality on his part or the notion that he's enjoying himself a little too much out there?

I totally think that could be a scene like X Knight described. Bats looks to be yelling and Supes seems ready to calmly point things out to him.

Plus-- what if Supes didn't help with the rubble and rescues, but Clark Kent did? Something like that would shut Bats up quick.

A scene like this would be nice

Can I make a weird observation and say how much I like Wayne's suits in this? Particularly the old school tweed look in the "You let your family die" shot.

Both. Branding is just too sadistic. It's torture. I'm all for the Punisher using torture. Even Wolverine. It's to be expected of guys like that. But Batman, no matter how brutal he gets, should always remain above that level of pure sadism. IMO.

Yeah...Costumes are so on point! I loved that aspect about Keaton's Bruce too. You could feel the old money. Bale didn't have that, imo.

Batman is above torture?

Hell yes, I love his outfits thus far, oh and in that scene, you can see the Thomas Wayne painting in the back.

On the whole "Batman torturing people", have we all forgotten what Batman the are taking inspiration from? The one that shatters bones so they stay scared? What better say to make them stay scared then to brand a bat on them!

One of the things I love most about the trailer was the manner in which Snyder chose to emphasize Bruce's altruism by having him risk life and limb to rescue that little Metropolis girl as the buildings around them collapsed. While everyone in the vicinity wisely fled from the smoke and debris, he did the very opposite by heading right for it, again demonstrating incredible heroism. Then we get that great moment where he embraces the small child (presumably an orphan now, like himself) in an effort to console her. It's something we often see in the pages of the comics and the animated TV shows, this affinity between the character and the downtrodden, the innocent and especially the young. The movies, though, have never really -- before now -- shown that side of him in a way that resonated with me. So, it was nice to see here.
