That looks amazing... reminds me of Batman from Bruce Timm's BTAS.

That batsuit is fantastic, and Affleck did well with the material he had. I'm really looking forward to his solo movie now, even though I haven't read anything by Geoff Johns. Affleck is at least a great director.

He never said he wasn't going to kill (at least in BB), he just said he didn't want to be an executioner.

Sure, but the films never present it that way again--even in later scenes of Batman Begins.

It would be one thing if the film presented it as Batman trying and failing to live up to his own ideals (though some of the kills, like Ra's, are inexcusable). Instead, though, the films constantly write him as if he never kills, and then just assume you won't notice or care about the bodies he leaves behind. If you premise an entire plot around Batman's "one rule," it sort of cuts the legs out from under it when the audience learns to "rule" is really more of a suggestion.

just in case someone still can't get it...

It's depressing to think that this Batman's been continuously active for 20 years and yet Gotham is still as much of a slummy hellscape as it ever was.

It's this and what Bruce says in BVS "criminals are like weeds Alfred" to understand the mindset he had leading up and in BVS. Bruce and his city have been put through hell, he's lost people close to him, we will see what ends up pushing him to that point (hopefully) in his solo movie. Before BVS ending where we last see him as a better man, a better hero once again. It reminded me of Watchmen when we see flashbacks of the good days but in the present it was just crap.

If Gotham was shown like Metropolis, it would be like Gotham in TDKR, after implementation of Dent act.

One of the reasons why Batman in this movie is tired, brutal and angry is the state of Gotham, he fails to make a difference, and the people he has lost over the years, he is losing hope and humanity.

Batman grappling his way around the landscape is something I'm going to enjoy in the DCU. Batman shown at his full potential.

I hope to see some Arkham level grappling in JL

I was never nervous for Ben as Batfleck. After seeing the town I knew he would blow the haters away with his Batman portrayal. I love to death the previous Batman films especially the keaton Batman flicks so seeing Batman this brutal and loving Zac Snyders films especially watchmen and Man of Steel and which was the Superman film I always wanted too and nothing against the Reeve films because I love and own them multiple times but this is how I wanted Superman to fight and I knew with Zac doing Superman like that I knew he would get Batman to fight the way I wanted him to be on screen in live action.

I can't tell the difference without really trying, which I am not wont to do.

cowl is sleeker. grey suit is now darker/more charcoal colored. and has more padding.
arm guards look different now too.

The old suit was pretty much perfect so I don't love the changes, but it still looks cool.

agreed. bvs suit is best batman movie suit so far.
gonna wait and see how the justice league one is in motion.

I can't say yet he is the best Batman ever; but he is the only actor who did justice to both Bruce and Batman in the same film.

Affleck only one not do justice to Bruce or Batman. All others do justice to one or both.

Affleck did fine as both bruce and batman. Cant wait to see his solo.

Affleck's take was a woeful Bruce and an even worse Batman. His acting was fine but the characterization was dreadful. Bottom of the barrell in terms of Batman adaptions. The only glimmer of hope is the chance that maybe the Batman solo might turn out something half way decent.

So is that on affleck or the script?
