Yes, I've said this a couple of times before. Aparo's Batman, despite appearing quite muscular, is also very tall and kind of lean/slender at the same time. He isn't overly huge and stocky. And that's the way I see Affleck's Batman.

I have always preferred this look. Batman needs to be able to sprint, leap, swim, climb, and have enough flexibility to escape any nefarious death trap. Too often he is drawn with a physique that is good for bench pressing half a ton, but not much else. I would be so pleased if Ben is in this kind of shape for the role.

...I'm pretty sure there's zero hate based on his appearance.
I'm squarely in anti-affleck camp but I said day 1 that between his looks and snyder's record of costume design and turning his actors into male models that he's going to look *amazing* when the first promo images come out. He'll probably be the most visually striking cinematic incarnation of the character we've ever seen. It's what comes after that which has me worried.
Yeah appearance is not a problem.
Physique is not a problem.
Suit is not a problem.

The acting might be a problem.
The personality might be a problem.
The general feel of the character might be a problem.

So I don't think anybody has a problem with appearance.

Why should we feel shame for enjoying something fanatics go to a fit about?
I did feel some shame for being a fan

Just the fact you'd have thought by now the majority would be past this old stereotype. Which sadly they're not. And all this does is paint the entire comic fandom in a bad light.

It's a comic book to send death threats to a man and his family over this is just insane

Ironically affleck said it best

some people do have a problem with appearance i keep seeing people saying he does'nt look tough or some crap i guess some fans wanted bruce to be some brute looking square jawed bad ass with a very dark sullen look with all the brolin, hamm, armitage, etc suggestions

which imo is just wrong bruce should not look angry you need someone who can be charming, smooth talking, aswell as show that inner darkness

that's okay. i wouldn't want bruce wayne to be intimidating. that's what batman is for.

I think it may be a good thing that the general audience (at least the people I've spoken to) don't feel Affleck can do intimidating because when he does do intimidating then it will be a shock.

I remember the very first time I saw Batman Begins (having seen all the Batman movies and all the Batman TV and all the Batman animated) for the very first time and Gordon says 'Flass knows but he's not talking' and Batman says 'He'll talk to me' and then the very next scene Batman is like 'WHERE WEAR THE OTHER DRUGS GOING?!!'

I was like 'Holy ****!' :wow:
Because it's something I wasn't expecting, Something I'd never seen from Batman before. So hopefully Affleck has the range to totally shock the audience and show us a side of him we've never seen. A side the casting director saw that was enough to give him the part.

bruce should never be bad ass looking thats batman not bruce

even bale as bruce was'nt intimating he was a nice guy, well spoken, charming, smooth, etc.

Don't know if it's a blessing or a curse but Affleck and Cavil really look alike.
I remember the scene in JL where Superman says 'DO I LOOK LIKE BATMAN?!' and Flash says 'yeah, you kinda do'

Makes sense, sadly

As if Christian Bale inspired that when he played the symbol

Armitage and Hammster aren't brutish looking by any means. I can see people describing Brolin that way though.

Not criticism against you but if that passes as lean and slender then comics have warped people's minds about how a body should look way more than fashion advertising. :woot: He looks absolutely huge there for being a human and not a monster.

He is still a middle weight bodybuilder size in that pic above, but more on the lean athletic size. Batman is an ectomorph or a mix of that and mesomorph he always has been, I don't know why some artists insist on drawing him like an endomorph stocky bodybuilder he wouldn't be able to do any of the things Batman supposed to do.

I actually pointed out that Aparo's Batman is certainly very muscular. I just think his rendition of the character has a somewhat slimmer and longer appearance than other depictions of various comic book characters, who tend to be drawn a bit wider or thicker at times.

Really gotta agree on the body types, though there's been beautiful work done by artists having him be bulkier and stockier. Bringing it back to Ben, I think he's going to give us perhaps the best physique and facial structure we've had in live action. He can look really lean, almost with a swimmer's build, but in the next moment look like a solidly-built football (American) player.

I have hope that Affleck will be on par with Cavill's size in MOS for size and muscularity, Cavill's size was one of the best ever seen so far in a comic related film imo, even next to Evans and Hemmsworth.

Batman looks rather silly without his cape and gloves.

I'd say mesomorph alone or a mix of the two sounds right. Ectomorphs are generally a lot smaller boned, although some have wide upper frames.

And he achieved it naturally, which is even more impressive.

I'm hoping for average length hair slicked back like Cm Punk, though maybe with some few loose strands.

That's the type of hair I see when I look at this art:

And it's how he looks in Young Justice to me:

I think those wanting a grey Batman suit will be disappointed, I really don't think it would work in live action. Infact I think it would look ridiculous. I can't see them suddenly switching from Black to Grey. I mean look at the latest Batman animated show the reason he has a black costume in that is cause it's semi real looking.

I think they'll do it because they haven't done it yet. Just to be totally different from the past 7 films, they'll attempt the grey suit....even if it's a dark grey that can look black under certain lighting conditions.
