I think black will look better in a live action movie as well. Especially if they don't lose the fear aspect of Batman.

Black doesn't necessarily equate to "fear". It's getting pretty overused anyway. Done well, the classic gray suit could be equally--if not more--effective visually.

I am more than ready for a faithful adaptation of the classic gray suit on the silver screen. They could do it in the spirit of what they accomplished for Henry's costume and still make it totally bad ass!

Just watched the Top 10 Ben Affleck Performances video. He really is a capable actor with a dim period in his career. I really need to sit down and finally watch Chasing Amy.

From the intensity of the reactions that we have seen, it appears that a LOT of people thought that Bale was coming back.

Yeah, it reminded me of some of the films I've enjoyed Affleck in. State of Play is another good one, though I had a hard time imagining anyone but David Morrissey (who played him in the British TV original) in Affleck's role.

Let's talk about Pearl Harbor! I liked Ben in that film and don't throw things at me but in also liked him in Armaggedon.

I've never watched Pearl Harbour in its entirety, only seen the goofy pre-amble before the Japanese attack kicks off, but I did think Affleck was a likeable enough presence in the film.

Armageddon he was fine in. Really don't remember much about Pearl Harbor. I do remember it had a lot of big names in it.

Pearl Harbor was filmed on my ship when I was in the Navy. I remember meeting Ben and thinking he was freaking tall.

Ben was pretty good in Pearl Harbor.

That film gets way more flack than it deserves.

I was going to bring up Armageddon and Pearl Harbor in my previous post, but erased those comments out of not wanting to be ridiculed. But, yes, they're suprisingly good examples of his acting skills. The movies may have their problems, but Ben carries himself and helps to keep the emotional grounding quite nicely.

It's not impossible that you can achieve the same with grey (and I'm not talking almost black grey) but if you can I've yet to see it. None of the pictures posted have shown it.

As for being overused, I'd say that the grey has been used far more in Batman history than black. Just not in live action movies, and I think my point is the reason why that particular medium differs.

Not that the look of the costume are among my top concerns for this movie though.

Yeah sure Ben can't act:
Good Will Hunting
Nominated—Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
Shakespeare In Love
Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
Nominated—American Comedy Award for Funniest Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture
Hollywoodland
Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor
Volpi Cup
Hollywood Film Festival Award for Supporting Actor of the Year
Nominated—Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actor
Nominated—Chicago Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actor
Nominated—Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor - Motion Picture
The Town
Nominated—Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Cast
Argo
Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
Pending—Teen Choice Award for Best Actor in a Drama
Nominated—BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role
Nominated—Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Cast
Nominated—MTV Movie Award for Best Performance

Well putting aside that a ton of those are for best cast as apposed to an award singling him out: I've often said that Hollywood land is far and away his best performance...but I find it amusing that he's playing an actor who is starving mainstream fame and critical success and is suffering the stigma of playing a superhero.
As for Shakespeare in love I always thought he was incredibly out of place in that movie (seriously, check his scenes out on youtube) and while he was charming and fun in Good Will Hunting I think anyone would be hard pressed to argue it went far beyond that. As for Argo and the Town...while they were great movies I just can't understand how people saw anything special in his performance. He wasn't bad...he was just....ok.

Sidenote: People often say that even great actors do a bad movie every once in a while...but Ben Affleck proves to me, along with Actors such as Keanu Reeves, that the reverse is true as well.

But Hollywood awards don't mean jack squat to anybody anymore. :o
MTV and Saturn awards never meant anything. All that really matters is the academy awards honestly.

To quote someone from AICN, "every single person in this talkback is being paid off by Warner Bros."

:o

I' m okay with it and I still don't understand why some people dislike Daredevil, I loved it :D

In honor of this past week's news, I am watching my B89 Blu-ray. Let us all hope Affleck can surprise everyone as much as Keaton.

That was awesome! I think after that, I'm considering Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor even more so than Jim Gordon.

That gray costume isn't intimidating in the slightest, its actually hilarious. The all-black costume is more intimidating, looks better, and allows Batman to hide in the shadows better.

exactly, Loki!

But I like this color :) It's original.

He only works in black.

And sometimes, very very dark gray.

all black costume is just lazy and quite boring arkham origins makes gray work so i don't see how it cant work on screen

All spandex, like the one above, does look cool. But it's not intimidating.

The grey suit can look intimidating. Like the one in Arkham Origins. Something similar for the movie would be great.

And I've always said the filmmakers should compromise on the colour. Gunmetal would look best instead if plain grey.

I think done right by film costumers, it can be even scarier than the all-black suit.

The grey provides a weird contrast to the black, emphasizing the dark mask and cape and drawing attentiont to the eyes.
