Hathaway was fantastic in Rachel Getting Married. *coughshedeservedtheoscarforthatperformancecough*

So the script is definitely getting mostly very good buzz from those who have read the leak (FOOLS!). It's a draft from 2008, so a lot will most likely change. Some of the general reactions I've seen: (It's totally vague and spoiler free but I'll use spoiler tags just in case anyone doesn't want to hear a peep)

People are saying the scale is very awe-inspring. Very VFX heavy and it's going to really please hardcore sci-fi fans. One description that I really dug was "It begins as Spielberg but suddenly it's Cameron meets Kubrick". Many were saying it's very "Spielberg" overall and that the movie has a lot of heart and well developed character relationships, and was surprisingly light on exposition. Less mindf***ery and more of a pure sci-fi experience. Though I guess that's not entirely surprising considering Jonah originally wrote it for Spielberg to direct. Guess we'll see if that holds true for the final draft and movie. After all, Nolan did merge his own original idea with Jonah's script so who knows what the movie has ultimately become?

I bet that a lot of these people who've read this leaked draft will end up liking the actual film/script much less. Much like how a lot of people read Goyer's original draft of Batman Begins ended up liking that more than the film.

Yeah which is why i dont like reading screenplays

How different was that from the finished film?

I don't recall the original BB script deviating that much. There were a few cool scenes though that I wished made the movie (like that endurance wall training scene with Bruce and Ra's) but cutting them out was not a deal breaker for me.

Oh, right. I was hoping it was hugely different since I don't want Interstellar to have been completely ruined for me lol

Dunno. Never read it.

Actually I felt the opposite and I believe I said that on here years ago. I thought the script was meh. And I was concerned about the project. But seeing the film, completely changed my mind. Some things to me just don't do as well on paper until you see the directors vision with it.

Yeah, I loved that scene. I also preferred Batman's first appearance in the script, rather than how it was incorporated into the first fight scene in the final film.

I also loved how Bruce saw the decrepit train station after he came back.

I feel like WB is strategically keeping this off the radar so it doesn't take away any steam from Man of Steel. This makes sense, and I've seen it happen plenty of times. So basically, I give it until mid-July and then we'll have a flood of casting and location news, etc. I also suspect a teaser trailer with Hobbit 2 (December).

It's also really funny how much information we have, yet it doesn't feel like it.

and what keeps Paramount, its domestic distributor, from keeping it off the radar?

Whoa when did Mr. Noodle become part of the cast. That's awesome.

There goes the obscure casting on Nolan part. :funny:

Casey Affleck reveals he's in Interstellar.

What are you working on that you can tell us about?
I’ve got a movie coming out at Thanksgiving called Out of the Furnace, and I’m going to work on a Chris Nolan movie in the fall.
