He can't act for crap. Duncan (my top pick), Mickey Rourke and Ron Pearlman would be much better choices.

Despite the fact that I'm biased and hate Keira Knightley....She's too old to be Robin.

You can make her look younger, plus does it hurt the character to be 18 over 16?

I agree he cant act, and I dont want him anywhere near the Batman Begins Sequels, but the one character in all the Bat-Universe that needs looks and not acting is the mutant leader. Any Pro Wrestler has the acting ability to say "I will eat your throat out" - infact many already play the character, they just dont know it.

i think a dkr movie would be the perfect situation to bring tim burton back to the franchise, so:

bruce wayne / batman - michael keaton
joker - jack nicholson
alfred - michael gough
gordon - pat hingle
superman - daniel day lewis

and i think it shouldn't be made like sin city, would be stupid for a batman film.
anyway, screenplay by sam hamm, david goyer and warren skaaren, directed by tim burton

Robin is very much a kid. Kiera Knightly is a woman. I suppose with the clotes, haircut etc. it might work. But I think she should look more like one of the Harry Potter kids (age-wise) than like a moviestar bombshell.

Plus I haven't seen The Jacket...can she do a convincing American accent? Thats necessary.

I disagree. He's certainly no oscar winner, but he's capable.

Capable of what? he can't sh1t, most his movies suck and he shouldn't be near the Batman set.

"Whatever" -Flash Thompson Spider-man

This is just going to turn into Vin Diesel vs Vin Diesel hate. Not going anywhere. Duncan would be fine. But I'd rather have Diesel because he looks the part EXACTLY. And he can play a crazy killer. It's not hard.

To be fair, he did his thing in Boiler Room, the first Fast and Furious, Saving Private Ryan and looks like he could do his thing in Find me Guilty (directed by Sidney Lumet). Anything's possible. But his name is too big as a box office gimmick actor to appeal to Nolan maybe

Why would you want Tim Burton? Plus Pat Hingle was a horrible horrible Gordon and should never come near another Bat flick. Keaton doesnt have the Bruce Wayne look to him, he didnt havnt in 89 and he doesnt have it now. Plus I cant see the Nicholson working as a DKR Joker- for one he is dead, two he was to flamboyant. DKR should not be a sequel to the Burton franchise, but the Nolan Franchise if ever done in live action. I still think an animated version would be the way to go for many reasons.

Nicholson is and always will be The Joker for me. I want him for DKR.

Tim Burton is ALL WRONG for this film.

John Carpenter, maybe.

And Mark Hamill should be the joker.

I'd love to see Ridley Scott direct it personally.

Bettany hasnt even been cast yet and I know that he will be the best Joker ever. I am not a huge fan of the Jack Nicholson Joker as a Joker (I loved the charcter but not as the classic joker) and Mark Hammil's Joker was to restrained (being on a cartoon) to ever get to reach its full potential. In Bettany I see the combination of Nicholson and Hammil but with a much more serious (while still being Joker like) tone.

Ridley Scott is an awesome choice for director.

Yeah, I heard his name mentioned and I thought he'd be awesome. His style really fits with the book's tone.

The name Ridley Scott seems to come up over and over and over when discussing comic films. Is he awesome? yes. Is his style great for a film like DKR? yes. I just sometimes think its like casting Alec Baldwin as Harvey Bullock. It's too high profile. Not everybody appreciates comics as art/literature. I think if Ridley Scott wanted to do a comic movie he wouldve be now.

Miller might want Rodriguez and Tarrentino to team up and do it like Sin City.

that would be cool. And being as how he's doing Torso(a graphic novel) after he's done working on Zodiac, him doing another comic book movie isnt out of the question.

Im all for David Fincher

Directed by Robert Rodriguez & Frank Miller

Batman - Michael Keaton
The Joker - Geoffrey Rush

Focus, people, focus. This is casting DKR, not just casting things that would be cool. Jack Nicholson is a fantastic actor, but he's all wrong for DKR Joker. DKR Joker is slim and effeminate, neither of which I see in Jack. Suggestions like Bowie or Peter O'Toole are much closer to the mark.

Similarly, the few people who are casting Robin are throwing names like Christina Ricci and Keira Knightly around. That doesn't fly for DKR. Carrie Kelly is a kid. Maybe 13 or 14. Age-appropriate casting will probably mean an unknown. Not sure if the Lemony Snicket girl would fly, but at least that suggestion was in the right ballpark.

And finally, Batman. DKR Batman means Clint Eastwood's attitude and Arnold's physique. Good luck finding that combination. You can't cast an average-sized actor like Michael Keaton, even if he bulks up. You need a big guy who's tough as nails. Mickey Rourke is the best I've heard. Somewhere between 'Domino' and 'Sin City.'
