Chapter 11: "Powerless" discussion thread 12/03

Wasnt Sylar suppose to have a not so happy ending? I couldve sworn I read Kristin Bell saying that Elle was going to take Sylar down. Thus originally leaving Zach free to film Star Trek
They changed the ending when they realised that the strike would affect them so dramatically.

And Sylar is too good a character to kill off. He's Peter's Lex Luthor

Can Peter's blood heal people now though? He's been around Claire and Adam.

while im not sure, I would like to say no. Since Peter shouldnt get all of the perks. All he does is get the basics of it and it doesnt change his blood.

all he does is kill people because he wants to be special. He has like zero-depth compared to the others.:down

Yes I agree. Although Peter gets to use everybody elses powers he can only get the basic a first phase powers. Or else he would be to omnipotent.

But for a council made, to essentially govern these special individuals, it doesn't really fit to have normal people on it or a child.

Maybe maybe not...but you would figure it will be natural to form up after last season:o

Are you kidding...first season sylar was awesome. He was insane. He was going around killing people and he had Mohinder fooled for two episodes. Watching him bouce back and forth was great. Im not saying he deserved to be in a Shakespeare production, but he was pretty damn good and convincing.

He can teleport to go get Claire. Seriously, there's no reason Nathan has to die other than if the writers just really want him to

Sylar was awesome first season, correct. But he serves no purpose this season.

Hence that is why I said "first season Sylar". He did really lick chode this season. So did mostly everybody.

Right, and now we're in second season and what is his purpose? I mean yeah, he has powers, he's crazy, and he kills people, but so what? He's just gonna keep returning to do the same thing? In a show that's supposed to be about average people with superhuman abilities, he's become more and more of a caricature with each passing episode.

Im not totally disagreeing with you. He prolly should have died at the end of last season and be done with it. Although I was somewhat excited to see that he somehow survived. He really should have stayed gone.

I think it would be great, especially after this volume. After seeing Nathan's (attempted?) assassination, they could form a council (I like the name The Outfit) in order to protect one another. Though that will only add to the comparrisons between X-Men and The 4400.

Here's why Nathan's death could actually be a good thing:
It'll unite the heroes for once in the show's existence. We could see an awesome team-up between Matt, Peter, Hiro, Claire and West to avenge Nathan's death.
Why it could be a bad thing:
HRG could be the killer, which would just be terrible characterization.
It could lead to really weird scene between Peter and West where Peter says something like "you can fly?" and starts crying. :o
Nathan's absense leads to more screentime for losers.

Matt your my new best friend:yay:

I am ready to see Ms. Petrelli's power.

anybody feels sorry for Adam at all????????????????

Oh Please I'm so sick of Sylar, They've written everything they can with him it just needs to stop.... IMO I guess. :(

He could but Peter doesn't yet know or hasn't found out that Claire's blood is capable of bringing back the dead. He & Claire haven't had any contact since season 1 so I hope things will change for season 3.

Does Peter still have powers? He destroyed the virus but also could have absorbed some of it that might could have rendered him powerless.
