Chapter 11: "Powerless" discussion thread 12/03

He could but Peter doesn't yet know or hasn't found out that Claire's blood is capable of bringing back the dead. He & Claire haven't had any contact since season 1 so I hope things will change for season 3.

Does Peter still have powers? He destroyed the virus but also could have absorbed some of it that might could have rendered him powerless.
Did you see the symbol when the virus turned to ash in his hands? Hopefully they will go deeper into the meaning of the symbol.

Oh Please I'm so sick of Sylar, They've written everything they can with him it just needs to stop.... IMO I guess. :(
I did post earlier that this seasons Sylar has been a miserably written character and that it prolly would have served the show better had he died at the end of Season 1.

Yeah, I'm actually a little creeped out by Hiro now...Burying Adam alive just seems so...dishonorable.
Adam didn't deserve to die with honor. He killed Hiro's father because of the vendetta he had placed on Hiro way back in Feudal Japan before the tent exploded. IMO...he deserved what was coming to him.

You serious? It's about time a hero put a villain away permanently
If Hiro had killed Adam because he believed Adam was too dangerous to let survive, I would be completely cool with that. But I got the impression that Hiro chose to spare his life not out of mercy, but out of revenge. Buried alive is pretty awful. I think Adam would have preferred death. Heroes are supposed to take drastic action to protect people, not inflict punishment for revenge.

I agree that he didn't 'deserve' to die with honor, but I think it is kind of sad that Hiro lowered himself to that level. It's just my personal take on it I guess.

And I'm not sure that I think anyone deserves being buried alive for all eternity - that's just too horrific to me.

Okay, for godsakes that is ridiculous! Burning a virus!?!? wouldn't that simply turn it into a gaseous state!?!

I'm running behind, since I watched the show on DVR delay. This is only page 11, and I don't know if anyone has addressed this: Do you have ANY idea what "sterilization" is, and what it does? I recommend you go to Google, and look up "autoclave", and check out what it does.

Oh. Living beings, such as viruses, don't have "gaseous states". :whatever:

And while I am here, I need to address your lack of comprehension. Hiro froze that whole room. Heck, he froze the whole universe in that instant, as far as I know. He DID NOT expect to see Peter. He did not "skip" freezing Peter. Peter simply has the ability to exist in the same frozen instance of time that Hiro does, so he sees everything from that perspective, and doesn't get frozen.

Matt = Debbie Downer. :o

the killer is probably someone who works for the company, maybe someone who hasnt been introduced yet? maybe.

anybody feels sorry for Adam at all????????????????
meh, kinda, kinda not. he's your typical Tragic Hero. or maybe Tragic Anti-Hero. he meant well... except kinda not. he was an interesting character.

Sylar was awesome first season, correct. But he serves no purpose this season.

He wasnt supposed to serve a big purpose in this part, this season was just supposed to be his journey back into america so that he can get his powers back and become the badass he is in the next part.

maybe he'll save Nathan.
you know, in a way, I hope so, bc I like Nathan, but on the other hand, they have really cheapened death with this season with people getting resurrected and coming back from the dead

Most viruses cannot stand immense heat and therefore die, especially that of nuclear fusion. It's a lot better idea than taking it outside or leaving it there.

He's not Superman or any other comic-book hero. He's a regular guy who can teleport and freeze time. You've never wanted revenge before?

Jeez dude, are we all a bunch of molecular biologists and virologists in here? Matt didn't know that the virus was suspended in solution and I nicely cleared that up for him.

oh....:whatever:

Sorry I was just voicing my fustration on the character in general I didn't mean to do so specifically towards you. :)

Oh I'm not saying I might not do the same thing Hiro did. I have no illusions about my own lax morals. I just think that
a) Hiro has always been extremely noble-minded and that this doesn't seem to follow that characterization (not that characters can't evolve - I just think it is a sad evolution - I feel for Hiro that he would be in such a dark place to do that)
b) killing Adam would be justice, buried alive forever is revenge
c) being buried alive is a a horrible thing for one human being to do to another, and I question whether anyone really deserves it, and therefore sympathize with Adam

Well I personally welcome ponytail-wearing, deeper-voice having Hiro. He's slowly turning into him

Yeah, perhaps this is a sign of where Hiro is headed. (Although I like the happy idealistic Hiro myself. Still, I think it would be interesting and logical for him to become changed a bit by his experiences.)

Happy idealistic Hiro is too prone to making stupid mistakes. Now that Sylar's back in the picture, the heroes have to get serious.

Did Hiro even know about the brain thing with Adam?
