Chapter 37- “One of Us, One of Them” – Discussion Thread 9/29/08

The Level 5 villians were taken cared of WAY too soon. I thought they would at least last through mid season

Well knox is still on the loose. I can't remember, was Jesse and the flame-thrower guy in mama petrelli's dream; the one where Knox is standing with Adam?

Seriously. "The Hunger" is the worst new invention of his character. First it was just him trying to be special and prove himself... which was good. But now he needs a reason to keep going.

Remember the first future episode? He was fine with a handful of powers until he realized Claire was alive so he could get her power...

Or the hunger could refer to a god complex which goes with the need for claire's power and to prove himself or in this case go beyond that. It's really not that out of character. *shrugs* :)

No. Just no.

This hunger apparently makes him kill anyone with powers. Anyone at all. Just to make his one dimensional killing everyone with powers make sense past getting Claire's.

The silly usage of Milo as Jessie aside, this was a fantastic episode. NOW Heroes is back. :)

I would say that Niki's character has jumped the shark, but she did that long ago - back when "Gina" (:whatever:) was introduced...if not sooner. I always hated her character, and a Clone Saga just solidifies my loathing. :yay:

Well I'm with you and I'm not.

I don't like one dimensional Sylar, but I can see they're trying to change that.

As for the hunger I'm gonna go ahead and give Sylar the benefit of the doubt (a shocker coming from me) I still say it's a god complex thing. Also if he's supposed original intent was to prove himself and now it's gone way too far then this add more dimensions to the character. This shows evolution of character for the worst which isn't all that bad in writing.

Then again it's all just my opinion. :)

that episode was rad. And now we FINALLY know a littel something about the whole Nikki/Jessica/Gina/Tracy and now Barbara? thing!

i loved this episode, they're starting to actually show a lot of powers being used!

I thought tonight's episode is excellent. I'm very much intrigued by Sylar's supposed tranformation to the good side, it's going to be interested in seeing if he truly is able to change for the good. I have a feeling that he will stay the same and this ultimately turn Noah into a villian as his selfishness and inablity to accept change and forgive will trun out to be a negative characteristic.

The scene in the box with Claire and Meredith was intense. One of the best sequences ever on the show.

Seeing the villians back to Level 5 so soon was a dissapointment, but I don't think we have seen the last of them.

Finally, anyway enjoy the little nod to Eden when Sylar posed as a cop?

At this point. It just seems like the Sylar show... he's badass, he does accents, figures things out easy, takes all the powers he wants, ruins the level 5 villains storyline by getting rid of them easily... Right now I feel like if Sylar were to be near the Haitian.... clearly he would figure out his power and fix it so he can still use his TK and kill both HRG and Haitian and go on... being 'awesome'.

:whatever:

There was 12 villains that escaped during the breakout. We've only seen four of them so far. They're out there.

What an EXCELLENT episode by the way.

so let me get this straight nikki/jessica/gina all one person....yet tracy is just tracy?

Okay, WTF at the dumb ass cop who just randomly listens to Sylar without asking for ID badges or anything...seriously, WTF

This episode was better than the first two but I can't beleive they basically kill off Jesse and The German already. And the villains were totally defenseless against Sylar (so much for the "its like twelve Sylars running loose" line).
And Sylar trying to be good just seems VERY out of charecter for me.

But I loved how much of a cold hearted b**** Angela is ....She just "feeds" that girl to Sylar like she was just cattle or something...cold.
And I liked the Claire and her mom thing going on, I thought that was cool. And Knox is a cool villain, I like him so far.

Hopefully Future Peter NEVER returns, nomal Peter is bad already...unfortunately future Peter is even more annoying, ugh.
And Matt in Africa storyline is boring.

Overall however I think this was a GREAT episode...and I didn't like the first two at all. No Maya, Im seeing a correlation here :o

Umm exaggerating much?

Besides It's decent change from "The PETER and HIRO Comedy Hour" IMO.

Although I actually like Hiro.

Zimmerman created Tracy/Nikki? I wonder exactly what he means by that comment

I just wonder...how many versions are there?!? Could be cool if each 'next' version is better than the original (a la Resident Evil 3's Alice) and not like Spider-Man's clone saga.

How many are walking around living a fake life? Are there hundreds of versions of her in a basement somewhere lying in wait to be wakened??

well nikki and jessica were two people, but jessica died when they were young, and we only saw her as one of nikki's presonalites, and gina I guess was another of nikki's split personalites
Tracy is tracy and i guess there's at least one more, Barbara

Anyone else wonder why none of the 12 villans were female?

And Angela basically shouldve just kept Elle locked up to "feed" to Sylar. They shouldve had Elle kick his butt and escape.

im intrigued to see where this goes

Really? I hate Sylar so I must looooooove Peter and Hiro.

Hiro isn't progressing as a character.... and Peter isn't either and he's got just enough powers to trip over his own feet and ruin everything but not enough to fix it.

Seriously, it was an alright episode looking better than the first two and then suddenly the end comes along and just ruins it.
