Chapter 40 - “Dying of the Light” – Discussion Thread 10/20/08

I'm assuming that arthurs powers wouldn't work either.

Well there goes the team of villains seen in Angela's dream. Bye bye Adam :(

Arthur being a Rogue knock off I didn't expect but I do very much like that Peter is now POWERLESS! MUHAHAHAAHA!

Sorry... I just don't like Peter. Whiny sod.

I'm mourning Adam, not only was he funny he was hot. I guess that Sylar is really a petrelli considering both he and peter natural have varients on Arthur/Rogue's power.

I love peter. Wait... I love peter's torso.:cwink:

I felt the spade gag could have been funnier, like sideshow bob and the rakes. Maybe a better edit or music cue was needed.

Okay...Hiro stops time and teleports and does the trick with Ando. Why didn't the superspeed chick see this happen? She was still mobile in the season premiere when he froze time...in fact, she said he didn't really stop time, just slowed it down.

Probably since she wasnt using her speed at that moment, she was vunerable to Hiros powers.

And hopefully when Peter gets his power back, he starts with a blank slate or maybe with his mimic power slightly altered (ie-he can only mimic powers that are around and not keep them forever)

I like the powerful Peter. I just wish he was written better and not come across as foolish or helpless.

did the immortal guy in the beginning called Father Petrilli " Arthur"..................... as in

"KING ARTHUR"

Hiro's villains if anyone cares.

arthur was a very popular name until about 50 years ago Baadshah2

anyone think Arthur believes he is doing peter a favour by taking his powers away after all that hunger business?

Ando's "death," was such a cop out. Not to mention some poor little kid is going to buy that sword thinking it to be a fake and in turn stab his unfortunate brother. :csad:

Wouldn't Arthur have the hunger now?

He doesn't seem like the type to succumb to something like that.

Maybe he'll control the hunger by mentally reminding himself that he doesn't need to cut people's head offs to steal and understand abilities, lol.

So is it me, or did this episode seem to be an hour long exercise in the art of saying a lot but ultimately going no where?

What? This episode was great. It focused on character development rather then just action, plus we got great depth for a lot of characters, especially Daphne and Matt. Love them together!

I missed the first of Heroes, how's Ando alive?

Plus is it me or was it so totally whack that Peter's father took his powers, I mean would'nt it cancel out, as Peter would get his dad's power once being in his presence, thus able to suck them back as his father tried to drain him... IDK that part was just so whack for me

Really liking Daphne now, and Matt's OK, and I'm really starting to dislike Mohinder-and does anyone know if Dania Ramirez character will return, or is that it for her?

...and where's Elle?

Peter has to know that he has a power first before he can use. By the time Arthur had revealed his powers to Peter it was too late for Peter to do much of anything.

Whatever happened to Kristen Bell? Slipped my mind...

For you answer check out Graphic Novel:Sum Quod Sum, Part 1

Summary
After being fired from the Company, Elle travels to London for a "study abroad." However, she soon loses control of her powers, shocking herself while showering and drawing unwanted attention. Unable to contact HRG for help, she looks for someone else. Daphne, after helping Elle with an incident on the bridge, gives her a calling card for Pinehearst hoping that she will join them for help. However, Elle chooses not to, thinking that the last thing her life needs is another company.

Elle manages to track Claude down at a sports arena and follows him onto the London Eye Ferris wheel. Claude, not knowing that Elle is no longer with the Company, turns invisible and flees from her. Using the rain, Elle is able to track him. She loses control of her ability again, the rain making her shock them both into unconsciousness.
