Really good episode tonight, with lots of great developments and touches.
First of all, what can I say--Arthur Petrelli is a bad ass. Oh, sure, he's got a variation of the mimic powers, but it makes sense considering Peter is his son, and it's actually a lot like Rogue's, only controllable. Really was not expecting him to kill Adam Monroe via absorbing his own power, so right away you knew this guy was someone you didn't want to mess with. Oh, I'm sure some will be upset that Adam is dead, but even so, it was a great scene. And taking all of Peter's powers away? There have been complaints that Peter was getting too powerful, so this is a good way to essentially build him up again from the ground up. Not to mention that he's no longer has Sylar's power either, meaning he's not psychotic anymore. Plus, it gives us a very good hint that, maybe, since he no longer has healing powers, that this is how he eventually gets the scar across his face. Well played.
What wasn't so great is the continuing saga of making Sylar into a good guy, as he's the one who comes across being more sensible and more in control of his "hunger"--a concept which I really don't like since I find this aspect of why he was a killer to begin with unnecessary. Although, we got a pretty decent fight scene between the two, although I was somewhat disapointed we didn't get a Peter Sylar team-up by the end.
As for Hiro, I knew he figured out someway to make it look like he killed Ando, and it was pretty well done. Interesting examples of what happens when Hiro goes back only hours or minutes at a time and Ando's reactions. However, the whole sequence with them trying to capture the African precog did wear a bit thin, although thankfully, Hiro only got hit in the head with the shovel twice--three times would have really been pushing it

.
The whole Matt and Daphne interaction was good as well, as we get Matt, having so convinced about his future that he's a love sick puppy complete with pet turtle, and Daphne treating him like he's a would be "stalker" before Matt mentions the name of their child, followed by her growing sympathy for him and her having second thoughts about being with the Villains. So far, it's shaping up to be a far better love story than the stupid Claire/West teen angst drama from last season.
Speaking of which, the Claire subplot involving rescuing Meredith from Eric Doyle was certainly a highlight for Claire, as she now looks like she's got enough confidence in herself, which is what fans have probably been wanting for her to be for awhile. I didn't think Doyle was sleazy or teisted enough considering his power, but the whole spin the gun scene was very effective the whole way through.
The whole MohinDUH! becoming Brundlefly is still the weakest storyline, but perhaps the addition of Tracy and Nathan possibly confronting him and rescuing his coocooned captives will pick up. The problem, of course, is that this whole idea of MohinDUH essentially becoming a mad scientist was so jarring to begin with, and then we're supposed to feel sympathy for him really didn't wash. Mainly because his whole motivation of being jealous of those with abilities seemed so tacked on in the first place. Hopefully, this will start to be put to bed by next episode.
So, all in all, a very decent outing this time around.
