Chapter 41 - “Eris Quod Sum” – Discussion Thread 10/27/08

Hopefully the storm's calmed down enough for someone to help me out here.

Why was Peter so pissed at his dad? I know he took his powers away, but Peter screamed that he was going to make him pay for everything that he's done. What exactly has he done, other than steal his abilities, that would cause Pete to act out like that?

The episode itself was pretty good. I liked seeing Papa Petrelli's ruthless side both when subjecting Pete to Mohinder's experimental drug and for quickly silencing Maury when he'd had enough of his crap.

Did anyone else think threesome when Nathan was standing between Tracy and Meredith?

Arthur's revelation to Sylar about Angela's near drowning of him was startling.

I liked seeing Matt make full use of his powers when dealing with Knox. The kiss Daphne gave Matt was a little cringeworthy but I felt better about it when we learn she's still working for Arthur.

I hope Maya's gone for good now. Her character really didnt have much else to bring to the show.

This episode was kinda meh. It wasn't bad but it but it wasn't good either. Although they move the plot along nicely.
On a sidenote: How hot are Ali and Kristen?

i just have to say that this season is looking great so far, i hope it starts getting really good real soon. i also want peter to get his powers back.

also, its a little cloudy as to who is a strict villain, other than knox, and who is a hero because they all think theyre doing the right thing and will stop at nothing to get it done. i thought peter was going to be a villain in the first few episodes and now hes obviously going to be a hero.

I dunno about them but i was definately think threesomse every second Claire and Elle were on screen together. Me being the third participant of course.

After this ep I have a new favorite character: Knox!

I dig the way he does that deep breath thing as he's absorbing people's fear. It looks so badass.

And he's black, so that just makes everything better. He's like my D.L. for season 3. I still miss D.L. :csad:

I agree Krozee Knox is a great villian. The first time we saw him in his cell in a straightjacket i thought he seemed really stupid but as soon as we got to see him in action I changed my tune.

Well Peter without his powers is probably feeling pretty pissed just on a whole. Out of all the other people in the show, he was the one most excited about the possibility of being special. And now he's not special anymore and he can't be as useful to saving the world. So naturally he's pissed. Coupled that with the fact that his father put his mother in a coma and is obviously working with villains (Peter must've recognized Knox) pretty much explains why he was so angry.

Let's not forget that it's completely in character for Peter to put his full trust or on the contrary, dismiss a person completely, quickly, without knowing all the facts. Peter lives in a very black and white world.

Speaking of black and white, I am not sold on Arthur Petrelli as of yet. He is just to much of a stereotypical bad guy, showing no remorse and amassing power. At least with Adam and Sylar we had some three dimensional villains. Arthur Petrelli is to much of a cliche ridden comic book villain for now.

Was it just me or did Claire seem to really enjoy that shock on the plane from Elle?

You know what the show needs to just calm all the detractors? A swimsuit episode! Remember how Marvel used to put out a yearly swimsuit edition? Heroes needs one.

Get Kristen, Hayden, Ali, and the others in skimpy bikini's and the detractors will havenothing but good things to say for a week or two.

:facepalm

Then Parkman can use his power to force them to feel the need to start oil wrestling. Or maybe break into random pillowfights. Possibly make them dress up in the "naughty schoolgirl" outfits.

The options are endless and the ratings would shoot through the roof!

After watching this episode, I have come to the conclusion Arthur and Angela Petrelli are bad ass and for the life of me I can't understand why their kids haven't inherited the badass genes.:o :oldrazz:

In what way being momma's boys, getting thrown out of windows and being easy to manipulate?

:oldrazz:

one may think Maya might have raised them.......

(I'm a fan of maya actually, but the joke fit :))

I'm sure Arthur and Mrs.P have there own weakness as well.
Peter its that he's to trusting, Syler its that he wants to know more about his past. Nathan its that he loves his brother LOL. Well thats it in Volume 3. In Volume 1 I'd have said him becoming a powerful man was his problem. Yah man the family is just so messed up LOL. But they all also have there strengths as well.

Also Sylar is the Master manipulater,I am sure he knows when he is getting played.

If Sylar understands how a clock works and how a brain works, it's very logical to think that he knows how a hidden agenda works.

^ Of course he knows how a hidden agenda works. He's had a lot of experience with hidden agendas... :)

Naaaaah.

He's to busy trusting the wrong people to whine about anything.
